She looked at Feifei, who had achieved a miracle through brute force, then at Pu Han, who was almost out of breath from running, shook her head with mixed feelings, threw away the fabric in her hand, and reached out to take the key.

And the moment she held the key in her hand, a door finally appeared in the depths of the seemingly endless corridor.

The door was made of metal, very narrow, with a small window covered by iron bars on top. Just looking at it gave a oppressive and uncomfortable feeling.

However, there was no chance for regret now. Without time to think, Xu Turan dragged Pu Han forward and immediately shoved the key into the door.

Open the door, enter the room, close the door, lock it, all in one smooth motion.

Fearing there might be no chance to leave a message later, Xu Turan quickly tore off the rules paper pasted on the door before entering. With a loud bang, the door shut out the killing intent from outside. Xu Turan leaned against the cold door panel, slowly exhaled, turned to paste the rules paper on the inside of the door, but when she looked into the room, her expression froze.

…This place looked very abnormal.

Dirty, messy, gloomy. Wooden shelves held knives and some surgical instruments, each item stained with old, dried blood. Next to it was a small white bed, with some strange equipment beside it—these things had all been carelessly pushed to the corner of the room, like old toys used up but not yet put away.

In another corner were several wooden boxes, placed side by side. In the very center of the room was a single bathtub, currently filled with water.

Xu Turan walked forward involuntarily, looking down at the white bottom of the tub through the rippling water, and asked with complex emotions: “What is this place?”

Pu Han was sitting nearby, struggling to catch his breath. After a while, he finally found his voice: “I told you, the person I let escape was originally meant to be ‘sacrificed’…”

His gaze swept across the surroundings, and he shook his head with closed eyes: “Obviously, those people outside don’t actually know what the real sacrifice ritual is. They can only try bit by bit based on fragments of ‘divine revelation’…”

And some of the wrong “attempts” were at the cost of other lives.

“…A bunch of fools,” Xu Turan pursed her lips, “They don’t act human themselves, nor do they treat others as humans.”

“That’s why they died,” Pu Han shrugged, but just as he finished shrugging, he heard the iron door being pounded loudly behind them.

The iron door shook constantly from the pounding. Xu Turan turned alertly, immediately dragged over the nearby hospital bed and heavily barricaded the door. She closed her eyes briefly, quickly gathering her thoughts:

“We can’t just be trapped here, let’s look around some more. Maybe there’s another exit somewhere…”

“Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem so,” Pu Han scanned the surroundings and quickly concluded, “This is a dead end.”

Xu Turan: …

Why didn’t you say so when I came in?!

“I couldn’t see anything at that time,” Pu Han said helplessly, turning to climb onto the hospital bed, trying to add some weight to block the door with his paper-thin body, “Where’s Yang Buqi now? Try to ask him for help through the rules paper?”

“We can try,” Xu Turan took out the water pen she carried and handed it over, “But what he can see now seems quite different from what we see…”

She remembered the time in the basement. Even though Pu Han was standing right there, Yang Buqi couldn’t see him at all—this really made her doubt whether Yang Buqi could find a way to come even if he saw the distress signal.

“Ah, that’s understandable,” Pu Han recalled the content he had seen before and nodded in agreement, “Yang Buqi himself is the least affected by No. 71. And he’s also the one among us who has interacted the least with the space-time fragments…”

If the space-time fragments were compared to bodies of water, he would be the person who had already dived deep into the water, Xu Turan would be the one who had entered the water but could come ashore at any time. Yang Buqi would be the landlubber who had only ever dipped his feet in the water from start to finish.

It is indeed very difficult for someone on the shore to see what’s happening underwater.

“To be honest, if it really doesn’t work out, just open the door and you go out yourself,” Pu Han exhaled and said, “Their goal is to execute me. You’re an outsider to this space-time. If you just leave me behind, they won’t bother with you anymore.”

Xu Turan was crouching in the corner rummaging through boxes, and replied without turning her head: “If you get executed, won’t Feifei become a widow?”

“Strictly speaking, I was supposed to be the one becoming a widower…” Pu Han’s words were cut off halfway as Feifei suddenly slapped him. He rubbed his cheek and had to change his words reluctantly:

“Besides, I might not necessarily die. Some of what I said earlier was just to tease you. I’m at least a Radiance level, although a shoddy one, but I do have some means of self-preservation.”

【But whether there’s enough strength left to continue resisting the mental attacks of Ghost House No. 71 after self-preservation, that’s hard to say.】 The Planchette Pen tactlessly came out again to join in, 【Are you really not considering me? Unseal for 5 minutes, end in 5 seconds…】

Xu Turan unceremoniously waved it away: “What are you pretending for? Haven’t I already unsealed you a bit? And it was of no use at all? Didn’t you say you could do something like stigmata? Why don’t you write on people’s hearts then?”

Planchette Pen: …

The Planchette Pen fell into silence.

It didn’t know whether to tell Xu Turan that its little power to use stigmata was accumulated slowly over years. It was originally planning to use it to fake miracles to trick people into unsealing it. It had painstakingly saved up only 3 charges, and all were spent on her…

“No way? Then shut up,” Xu Turan didn’t even raise her head, “So I specially unsealed you just to remove your speech ban and unlock a chat bubble for you, is that it? What use are you?”

…

The Planchette Pen slowly fell to the ground, put the cap that was on its butt back on its head, and stopped talking.

The iron door was being hit with increasing frequency and force. Pu Han sat on the hospital bed, frowning in discomfort. Xu Turan, crouching in front of the wooden box, suddenly spoke.

“Pu Han, let me confirm again. Because I haven’t been fully incorporated into this space-time fragment, I can’t cause a subversive impact here—but you can, right?”

She was facing away from Pu Han as she spoke. Pu Han couldn’t see her expression, but for some reason he sensed an impending storm in her tone.

“…Theoretically, yes,” For some reason, he felt something suspended in his heart, “But as you’ve seen, I can’t beat them in hand-to-hand combat… If I were to use my full power, you’d better leave the scene in advance…”

“I’m not asking you to fight,” Xu Turan said, turning her head. Pu Han then noticed that she had something extra in her hand.

It was a rather thick notebook. He stared at it for a while, suddenly realizing what kind of things were recorded in it—

“We don’t need you to fight, we’ll find another fighter. I’ve seen that guy’s methods, it’s very efficient,” Xu Turan said calmly, opening the notebook.

“Flowers, crushed bones, chalk, plates, water… All the necessary materials are here. Next, we just need to figure out how to interpret this incantation…”

Then they could summon Ghost House No. 71.

Summon the Ghost House No. 71 from the past in this past space-time fragment.

Pu Han: “…”

Well, um, should we maybe reconsider the hand-to-hand combat option?
