Connecting this with all the experiences it had while lurking around Xu Turan—

Damn.

It felt like she might really do something like mutual destruction!

Seemingly sensing its dilemma, Xu Turan spoke again, this time with a bit of cheerfulness in her voice: “Or, if you really don’t want to deal with the current No. 71, dealing with its past self is fine too.”

The corners of her mouth turned down, and she looked at the Planchette Pen as if looking at a dead object:

“Want to see which is faster, you writing me to death or me throwing you out?”

Planchette Pen: @#$%…%$

【!! I understand now, I finally understand!】 It turned its head and started writing on the wall again, tap-tap-tap, 【You did it on purpose! You deliberately left me outside earlier, just to test me!】

【You woman, how can you be so vicious!!!】

The red text was sprawled on the wall, each character seeming to weep blood. Anyone who didn’t know better might think it was the one being persecuted.

Xu Turan scratched her cheek, her eyes becoming somewhat peculiar.

No, this over-interpretation is a bit too much.

You might not believe it, but I really forgot about you by accident…

“Anyway, that’s my attitude,” Xu Turan felt embarrassed internally but kept a straight face, even taking a step forward.

“Either we die together, or we simply gamble on life and death, you choose one.”

Planchette Pen: …

Although it really made it look bad, at the moment Xu Turan stepped forward, it couldn’t help but retreat a bit, directly pressing against the wall.

After a few more seconds, it finally seemed to give up completely, dropping to the ground and not moving.

Red ink leaked from the pen cap, spreading into a puddle, like spilled blood.

Whether it was psychological or not, Xu Turan felt that the entire pen had become much more dejected.

…Then she completely ignored it and turned to continue searching the corpses.

The places on her skin where the “stigmata” had been left still hurt. The writing had become blurred, leaving only blood marks, which looked a bit frightening, but fortunately, they didn’t actually drip blood.

Xu Turan found it a bit unsightly and called out to the fountain pen. That fellow pretended not to hear, its cap covering its head, and directly rolled to one side.

…Is it sulking or what?

Xu Turan shook her head, turned around and continued feeling around the waist of the corpse, finally finding a bunch of keys at the back waist of one of them.

Almost the moment she held the keys in her hand, a wooden door suddenly appeared in the previously sealed room. The door was tightly closed, with a keyhole on it.

So that’s how it is—Xu Turan suddenly realized.

They say the lock comes before the key. But the order here is reversed, first there’s a key, then the corresponding lock appears.

There was also a rules paper pasted on the door. At this moment, the plan written on it had almost disappeared, leaving only a series of escape rules, neatly arranged.

The flickering candlelight shone on the door. Xu Turan’s sharp eyes immediately noticed that in the blank space above the rules paper, someone had added something.

It looked like a rune, triangular, with large and small diamonds and circles drawn in the middle, and next to it was Pu Han’s distinctive signature.

Xu Turan knew this must be a clue from Pu Han. Her first reaction was to flip through the notebook she had picked up, but after going through it, she couldn’t find the corresponding pattern. She then picked up a candle and went to check the things in the room, passing by the sulking fountain pen on the way and picking it up.

As her fingers inadvertently brushed over the body of the fountain pen, Xu Turan suddenly paused.

She remembered. There were runes on the body of this pen too.

Xu Turan immediately brought the candlelight close to the Planchette Pen, examined it carefully for a while, and indeed found a rune on the cap that was identical to the one on the rules paper.

She looked deeply at the rules paper again, and spoke to the Planchette Pen once more: “By the way, let me ask you another question.”

“What’s the method to unlock the seal on you?”

Planchette Pen: …

Planchette Pen: …?!!

It almost instantly jumped out of Xu Turan’s hand, floated in the air stunned for a while, then turned to write on the wall:

【What are you up to now?!】

Xu Turan: …

“Well, you can’t be ordered around anymore, is that it?” She lazily raised her eyes and stood up. “Fine, if you don’t want to answer, then don’t.”

Planchette Pen: !!!

It swooshed to Xu Turan’s front, hesitated for a moment, then turned its head and coyly wrote a line of text on the wall quickly.

—The method wasn’t difficult, just use human blood to smear off the runes on its body, while repeating: 【I give you freedom, I give you freedom, I give you freedom】.

Xu Turan followed the instructions, unhesitatingly squeezing out a bit of blood from her wound, carefully aiming at the candlelight, and bringing her finger close.

She precisely covered the triangular rune with the blood stain.

While covering it, she chanted: “I give you freedom—but only a small part.”

“I give you freedom… but only a small part”

“…only a small part, ha. No more than that.”

Planchette Pen: …

Come on, you’re chanting so loudly, are you afraid I won’t know you’re tricking me?

Although the seal on its body was dissolving, for some reason, it suddenly felt an ominous premonition and a heavy sorrow.

In any case, a small part of freedom is still freedom—because of Xu Turan’s open and honest chanting, by the end, the fountain pen surprisingly didn’t feel a great psychological gap.

In fact, because of Xu Turan’s earlier “come on, let’s explode together” attitude was so intimidating, it actually had no hope for unsealing. Unexpectedly, it could now be unsealed a little bit…

It even had a strange feeling of “Hey, I actually won something”.

But as a self-proclaimed high-level villain, the Planchette Pen quickly adjusted its emotions, secretly admonishing itself not to be as undignified as a country dog; and symbolically asked Xu Turan why she only removed part of the seal.

It also took the moral high ground again, righteously accusing her of breaking promises, being cunning and deceitful, and an extremely despicable human.

People like you, back in the day, I wouldn’t even accept you into my sect if you wanted to join!

“What do you mean breaking promises? It’s exactly because I keep my promises that I helped you smear it,” Xu Turan retorted righteously, as if the person who had planned to completely freeload earlier wasn’t her.

“This is called a deposit. Do you understand what a deposit is? At least wait until the project is completed before paying the final payment—you’re a high-level abomination, can’t you understand some business logic?”

After saying this, she directly walked towards the wooden door, compared the keys in her hand for a while, inserted one of them into the door lock, and openly opened the door to go out.

The Planchette Pen was left behind, silently floating behind her, its movements very hesitant, its mind very confused.

…Eh?

So… that’s how it is?
