Her Talent for Courting Death Has Always Been Impressive - Chapter 37 Part 1
Chapter 37: The Clash of Team Wipe Triggers
Pu Han was awakened by a slap from Feifei.
When he opened his eyes, the alarm clock hadn’t even gone off. He picked up his phone to check, yawning and rubbing his face.
“What’s going on, it’s not even 8 am yet… that girl hasn’t sent a message either…”
“Hey, wait! What’s happening—Feifei! Feifei!”
Slaps from his wife came raining down on his face. Pu Han couldn’t dodge in time. After two smacks, he was finally wide awake. He looked at his own right hand, which was waving frantically with agitation, and raised an eyebrow slightly: “Did you ‘foresee’ something again? Or… is it related to that girl?”
Feifei curled one finger, pressing the knuckle down repeatedly, as if nodding.
Pu Han: “…”
“Alright, alright, I got it.” At this point, he didn’t yet understand the severity of the problem. Under Feifei’s strong insistence, he had to pick up his phone, pull up Xu Turan’s phone number, and use it as a medium to empty his gaze and “read” Xu Turan’s current situation remotely.
However, after just a few minutes, his expression became grave.
“…Not good, this is quite serious.” He muttered, quickly rolling out of bed and getting up to turn on the computer. “I’ll report to the institute immediately. I just hope they have high-level… available to dispatch at this hour.”
Before he could finish speaking, he suddenly saw that right hand pounce over and press down on the computer screen.
“…Feifei?” Pu Han noticed her action, and an ominous feeling rose in his heart. “Are you saying we can’t let anyone know?”
Feifei curled her finger again, “nodding” her head.
“Feifei, don’t be ridiculous.” Pu Han put on a stern face. “This time we’re dealing with at least a Radiance level. We can’t handle it without help. No matter how special Xu Turan is, she’s just starting out, and Yang Buqi is at most Torch level. We need at least two Torch levels or one Radiance…”
Pu Han’s words trailed off.
Then, he pointed at himself in disbelief: “Don’t tell me you want me to go?”
Feifei “nodded” again.
“…” Pu Han took a deep breath. “You should know that your husband’s only talent is remotely prying into people’s privacy, right? I have no other strengths.”
Moreover, his skill might not even be effective this time—the one confronting Xu Turan was clearly someone not weaker than him in level. For some reason, the other party’s power seemed to have some fluctuations, which was why he could “read” their existence…
But that was all he could do—just “read” their existence.
The other party’s identity, background, and abilities were all obscured as if by thick fog, completely invisible.
If he got closer, he might be able to see. But this also meant that he could be spotted or even targeted by the other party—the biggest characteristic of omniscience was knowing a lot, and sometimes knowing too much made it easier to be influenced. Moreover, as a forcibly upgraded Radiance level, neither his body nor his will was actually very strong…
In simple terms, he couldn’t provide remote support, couldn’t deal damage up close, yet his intuition and intelligence were quite high. Sending someone like him to the scene could easily result in two types of GG outcomes—
One called long-distance feeding, and another called long-distance feeding plus surprise team wipe trigger.
Pu Han looked at Feifei with a serious face. The latter clenched her small fist and gently pounded his chest, then nuzzled against it.
As if she was acting coquettishly.
Pu Han, still with a serious face: “…”
The next second, he sighed and opened the computer again.
“Let me submit a leave request and pack some things.” He said resignedly. “Let me make this clear. If I don’t die, it’s fine. But if something happens, even with our precognition and omniscience combined, one dies and one gets sent…”
Feifei gently pounded him again, obediently lying down next to him and starting to wait.
Pu Han’s leave request was approved quickly. He came up with some reasons to politely decline the bodyguards the institute was prepared to assign him, then picked up his phone, ready to call Yang Buqi.
However, just as he opened his contacts, he paused again.
“…Holy crap, is this for real?”
Staring at Yang Buqi’s contact information, his gaze went blank for a few seconds before quickly coming back to his senses: “Yang Buqi is already on his way there…”
“This kid, his intel is actually faster than mine?”
At the same time.
On the highway.
Yang Buqi was driving while occasionally glancing at the constantly flashing glass ball on the passenger seat, feeling a strong urge to curse.
He knew it! He knew Xu Turan wouldn’t listen to him! Look, now something has happened!
Yang Buqi took a deep breath, turned the steering wheel to exit the highway, and took advantage of waiting for a red light to call Xu Turan again.
However, just like before, the call couldn’t get through at all.
Yang Buqi closed his eyes briefly, looked at the flashing glass ball beside him again, and pressed his lips together in suppression.
This glass ball was a detection tool he personally owned. It came with a set of small glass stones. One of these glass stones was placed in the room where Xu Turan had previously been wildly scribbled on by the Planchette Pen.
Yang Buqi had suggested that Xu Turan move out of that room and not use it for a while. Suspecting that Xu Turan probably hadn’t listened, he had secretly placed a glass stone in there when he went to help paint the walls—the stone had no other function except to sense the surrounding situation. If any particularly dangerous situation occurred, the glass ball in Yang Buqi’s hand would react, allowing him to go check in time…
However, the most dangerous situation Yang Buqi could imagine was at most Xu Turan being lured and bewitched by the abomination’s writing, losing herself and doing something to harm herself.
But judging by the way the glass ball was frantically lighting up, the current situation was clearly much worse than he had anticipated—
What’s going on? Did she do something to that pen again, pushing it to the point of mutual destruction?
Various speculations whirled in Yang Buqi’s head, making him anxious and upset. Just then, his car finally entered Star Park. He drove skillfully along the internal roads for a while, finally arriving at the entrance of the villa district.
There was a barrier at the entrance. A well-dressed security guard walked over: “Sir, which villa are you looking for?”
“Number 17!” Yang Buqi said quickly, his fingers anxiously tapping on the steering wheel.
The security guard, however, was stunned for a moment: “What number 17?”
“It’s villa number 17, the innermost one…” Yang Buqi explained instinctively, but halfway through his words, he suddenly realized something was wrong.
He was sure he hadn’t taken the wrong road—but every time he came here before, he would just drive up and be let in directly. No security guard had ever asked about his destination.
A subtle sense of oddness crept up in his heart. Sure enough, the next second, he heard the security guard say: “Sir, the house numbers in our area all start from 100 onwards, they’re all three-digit numbers. Are you sure it’s number 17? Haven’t you remembered it wrong?”
Yang Buqi: “…”
It was a hot day, yet he suddenly felt a cold sweat on his back.
Meanwhile.
Star Park Villa District – Number 17.
Time rewound to half an hour earlier.
In the living room. Xu Turan was interestedly observing her adopted brother sitting at the dining table. The latter drank coffee mixed with butter without changing his expression, his tone as cold as ever: “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“…Nothing, just suddenly realized you’re quite special.” Xu Turan pondered for a few seconds, adjusted her emotions, and instead walked towards the dining table.
“Brother, don’t you feel there’s something wrong with this coffee?”
