Her Talent for Courting Death Has Always Been Impressive - Chapter 33 Part 3
“Quality, Snow White. Ability manifests as passive group charm, universally beloved. Ability tendency is Eternal Day that can affect emotions of people and abominations.” The young man repeated word by word again, clearly making things up, yet he said it with an air of “I am the truth”.
“See, doesn’t it all make sense now?”
Yang Buqi: “…”
He was silent for a moment, then raised his hand to cover his face.
“You don’t seem like the type to play such pranks. Pu Han, what exactly are you trying to do?”
The young man laughed, “Don’t ask me, this was Feifei’s doing. I’m just helping her clean up.”
As he spoke, he looked gently at his right side, then said, “Oh right, she also asked me to tell you. Don’t worry too much about this, that girl can take care of herself.”
“Also, there will be a discount at the online pharmacy next month. If you need quick-acting heart-saving pills, you can stock up then.”
Yang Buqi: “……”
Well, I really should thank her for that.
He pondered for a while, let out a heavy sigh, but his brows remained tightly knit.
At this point, he could see that Pu Han had no intention of modifying the assessment results—and as the current ceiling of Omniscient ability users, the only “Radiance” level Omniscient, he indeed had the ability to keep this matter covered up.
As long as he determined that Xu Turan’s qualities were “Jade Rabbit” and “Snow White”, no matter how other Omniscients “read”, this would be the result they saw. Unless a higher-level one suddenly appeared now…
In other words, he not only tampered with Xu Turan’s assessment results this time but also changed all future assessment results.
…This is monopoly, evil monopoly.
Yang Buqi glanced at him irritably. Pu Han took a sip of tea and added slowly: “If you really want to pursue the truth, that’s fine too. I can change it back then—but if we’re going to change, let’s all change together, if we want truth, let’s all be truthful.”
He raised his eyes to look at Yang Buqi: “Why don’t I change your assessment report back too? Add back that erased Omniscient tendency, and update the data on your Life tendency… Oh right, didn’t your Life tendency reach ‘Torch’ last year? What did you report to the higher-ups again? How come it’s still at Lamp? That’s too dishonest.”
Yang Buqi: …
His face changed slightly, and he finally closed his eyes forcefully.
“Are you sure changing it like this won’t have any negative impact on Xu Turan?”
He asked Pu Han again for confirmation.
Pu Han shrugged: “I told you, Feifei changed it. But you can rest assured, Feifei likes her very much and won’t harm her.”
As he spoke, he looked behind Yang Buqi:
“If you don’t believe me, you can ask her yourself. Feifei even greeted her earlier.”
Yang Buqi: …?
He belatedly turned around and met Xu Turan’s slightly awkward gaze.
Xu Turan maintained her posture of pushing the door open and raised one hand to wave: “…Hi.”
Yang Buqi slapped his forehead with one hand: “No, wait… God, why are you here?”
“Someone sent a message inviting me to dinner,” Xu Turan said very honestly.
She was bored being alone, and this anonymous text message piqued her interest, so she said she’d come and take a look.
The text also emphasized that when she arrived, she didn’t need to knock, just come in directly. Out of curiosity, she followed the instructions, and as a result, she got an earful of gossip.
And it was Yang Buqi’s gossip.
Wow.
Yang Buqi looked over with a complex expression, and Xu Turan quickly raised her hand: “Don’t look at me, I didn’t hear anything, and even if I did, I don’t care. You don’t need to pay me hush money, though of course, if you really insist, I can reluctantly accept it.”
Her gaze swept around the room, finally landing on the dining table, and she very naturally changed the subject: “Why are there four place settings?”
“Because there are four people,” Pu Han said with a smile. “Alright, everyone’s here now. We can start eating—this meal is on me, consider it a welcome party. Don’t close the door. In three minutes, the waiter will bring in the soup, it’s inconvenient to get up and open the door.”
The implication was that he had included Yang Buqi in the dining number from the very beginning.
Xu Turan was looking at the four place settings on the table with interest, still wondering where the fourth person was and who “Feifei” was, when the young man sitting in the main seat looked over and pointed to the position on his right side.
“Can you sit here?” he asked.
Xu Turan didn’t understand but still sat down as requested. As soon as she sat down, she felt her left hand being grabbed.
…?
She looked down in surprise and saw the young man’s right hand grabbing her left hand. After holding it, it even swung back and forth happily.
Xu Turan: “…???”
She stared at that hand wearing a black glove, seriously considering the compatibility of the current scenario with workplace harassment, and whether she should use the teacup or the chair as a weapon.
Before she could make up her mind, she suddenly felt a tickle in her palm—that hand, becoming even more presumptuous, curled its fingers and scratched her palm.
Xu Turan: … Decided, flip the table.
She closed her eyes briefly, about to stand up and overturn the table, when she suddenly heard the young man beside her make an “Eh” sound.
Then she saw him extend his left hand, carefully pulling his right hand back, with a face caught between laughter and tears.
“I’m really sorry, I didn’t watch her for a moment and she acted up… Oh right, we haven’t introduced ourselves yet, have we?”
He captured his right hand back onto the table, gently peeling off that layer of black glove.
Underneath the glove was a very beautiful hand.
The fingers were long and slender, the skin was a cool white, smooth like fine porcelain. The nails were neatly trimmed and adorned with delicate and beautiful orchid nail tips.
On the wrist of that hand was a gemstone bracelet, and on the ring finger, a modest diamond ring.
“My name is Pu Han, and I’m also the assessor of your quality results this time. With me covering for you, you don’t need to worry about being exposed,” the young man said nonchalantly, then looked at his right hand, his tone suddenly becoming gentle.
“This is my wife, Feifei. You’ve met before.”
As if responding to his words, the right hand that had been quietly lying on the table immediately raised up, waving happily at Xu Turan.
Xu Turan: …
She raised an eyebrow slightly, slowly releasing her fingers that had been pressing on the edge of the table, hesitantly waving back at that hand.
The beautiful right hand became even happier, raising up to make a heart sign at her.
Xu Turan: ……
To be honest, before this, she had been worrying that if the people here found out her mind wasn’t right, they might directly contain her as a patient.
Now, she felt she had overthought it.
This place was full of hidden talents, what kind of people didn’t they have—compared to the person opposite, she felt she was practically normal to the extreme!
Throughout this meal, both Xu Turan and Yang Buqi ate somewhat absentmindedly.
Xu Turan was constantly thinking about the matter of “Feifei”. She tried asking twice, but both times Pu Han smoothly changed the subject, so she tactfully stopped asking and turned to wild speculation instead. Her thoughts drifted from “split personality” all the way to “ghost possession”, becoming more and more curious as she speculated.
As for Yang Buqi… he was still concerned about Xu Turan’s assessment results being altered, and coupled with being threatened earlier, he couldn’t calm down for the time being.
