Chapter 24: Bad Acting, Just Cover Your Face

【Special Skill: Mad Rabbit – Unlucky Rabbit Leg】

【Current Level: Chaos: Firefly / Beast: Firefly】

【Effect: Active skill. Can be used on any non-human entity. Each time you successfully use a [Front Kick] on the target, you can cause a certain degree of stiffness and confusion effect on the opponent. The greater the absolute difference in level between the target and you, the weaker the duration and degree of effect. Can only be used on one target at a time, cannot be stacked, no cooldown time.】

Xu Turan: ……

After quickly scanning the text that floated in her mind, she had only one thought—

Damn. Is it too late for her to back out now?

500 Courting Death Value just for this, you dog of a game designer, how dare you.

It’s not that this skill isn’t good. After all, it still seems to be a strong control skill, with no cooldown, and you can kick and control whoever you want—the problem is, Front Kick? Front Kick?!

You could at least spend some words telling me what a “Front Kick” is? Is it lifting your foot and kicking someone from the front?

Xu Turan, who had always followed the path of wild punches beating the old masters, fell into silence.

… Well, it’s already opened, can’t back out now.

Xu Turan took a deep breath on the spot, adjusted her mood, and shifted her attention to the current room.

From what she could see, her guess was correct—the ritual on the 15th floor was still operating, and anyone who came into contact with it would be affected, and this effect was manifested in their “keys”.

The key was still that key, and the door was still that door. However, the space behind the door had silently changed, and once entered, one would be taken into another world.

This should be the “domain” Yang Buqi mentioned… Xu Turan secretly concluded.

This way, Cha Ruoyu’s strange behavior also made sense—what he really wanted to go to wasn’t 1501, but this domain.

That’s why he kept using the key to open the door again and again, trying again and again, that’s why he had to ask others if they had seen his “key”… What he really wanted was the key that could enter this “domain”.

As for why people who didn’t want to enter were dragged in in droves, while he, who really wanted to enter, couldn’t get in no matter what, that was beyond Xu Turan’s consideration.

She pondered silently, and surveyed the space she was in once again.

At this time, the walls of the living room had been completely changed. The bright red color and texture like thawed meat made Xu Turan wonder if she had been thrown inside some huge monster. The floor and ceiling hadn’t changed much, still feeling hard and solid.

All the original doors and windows had disappeared, not only could she not go out, she couldn’t even move from the living room to other rooms, essentially being trapped in this limited space.

The furnishings in the living room still maintained what she saw at first glance, even the black backpack was still in its original place. Xu Turan tried it and found that water and electricity could still be used normally, and the fruit in the refrigerator tasted normal. She held a small apple in her mouth and tried to rummage through the black bag, pulling out a men’s black shirt from inside—judging from the size, it should be Yang Buqi’s. She also found a transparent small business card box in the inner compartment, which contained the same kind of business cards Yang Buqi had given her earlier.

In other words, the owner of this bag was Yang Buqi.

In other words, the living room she saw when she entered should be the real living room where Yang Buqi lived. She just didn’t know if what she was seeing now was a replica based on the real living room, or a space forcibly separated and sealed off from reality.

In any case, the fact was that Yang Buqi himself wasn’t here. Xu Turan thought to herself, desperate times call for desperate measures, and rummaged through the backpack again, finding a folding knife and a palm-sized spray bottle filled with an unknown liquid. Feeling that there were quite a few things, she simply slung the whole bag over her shoulder.

There were also two mint candies on the table, which she unceremoniously swiped as well. Seeing that she had pretty much looted everything, her peripheral vision caught sight of the business card box beside her, and Xu Turan had a thought, opened it again, and took out a few cards.

She originally thought that these small paper cards were good for writing things down and making marks, and it would be good to carry some with her as spares; unexpectedly, after taking out the business cards, she noticed something strange.

—The backs of some business cards had been scribbled on.

The place that originally had a torch pattern drawn on it had been scribbled over with a red pen, leaving a chaotic bright red mark.

Not all the business cards had been scribbled on, but it was clear that the person who made these marks was in a bad mood, and the pen strokes left behind showed a sense of venting frustration.

Xu Turan didn’t know where these marks came from, but she could be sure that this was definitely not left by Yang Buqi himself—Yang Buqi took this mark very seriously.

Xu Turan thought for a moment, looked through these business cards one by one, and took some of both the scribbled and unscribbled ones with her.

And almost at the moment she put these business cards in her pocket, a familiar voice rang out in her mind:

【Congratulations, you have gained 10 Courting Death Value points!】

Xu Turan: ……

She went all in and simply took the entire business card box.

Unfortunately, the prompt sound didn’t continue. This made Xu Turan feel very regretful.

After rummaging through the backpack, she started checking other cabinets in the living room. After searching for about 3 or 4 minutes, another change occurred—in the blink of an eye, a door suddenly appeared on the wall of the living room.

A security door. The key was inserted in the lock. The door panel looked new, with a “Fu” character pasted upside down on the surface, and a pair of Spring Festival couplets pasted on both sides, looking very out of place with the meat-like walls beside it.

So out of place that it looked very strange.

So Xu Turan, without hesitation, grabbed two small apples from the refrigerator, strode forward, and pulled open the door.

The moment she opened the door, a prompt of gaining one Courting Death Value rang out in her mind—followed immediately by a strong smell of blood wafting towards her.

Xu Turan instinctively covered her nose, and upon closer inspection of what was behind the door, her brows furrowed.

Behind the security door was another living room—but not the living room of Plum Blossom Apartments.

This living room was clearly much more upscale, at least twice the size of the one in the apartment, with shiny marble floors and a full set of leather sofas facing the TV cabinet.

A 70-inch LCD TV was hanging on the wall, with faint sounds coming from it—this TV was actually on.

The tinkling music floated around the room, making the current scene even more eerie.

After all, this living room was full of blood.

The bright marble floor and snow-white leather sofa were half stained red with blood. Besides the smell of blood, there was also a faint odor of rotting meat in the air, but after looking around, Xu Turan didn’t see any corpses.
