Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 121
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
No matter how much I explain, Urbano receives the report with a look that shows he hasn’t fully understood or is still unsatisfied. Well, that’s fine for now. The report has a different purpose.

Another three months pass.
I continue to advance the shoe business while collecting information from adventurers and regularly delivering reports on the adventurer business to Urbano. It’s a roundabout method, and results won’t be immediate, but it’s time to take some action.
One day, sensing it might be time, we go to the Adventurer’s Guild. Urbano discreetly invites us to a meeting room on the second floor and, after a brief greeting, makes a request.
“Kenji of the Sword Fangs Legion, the report you submitted last time was quite interesting. Could you provide another one?”
What do you mean, “interesting”? After three explanations, you still don’t understand it well.
Suppressing that inner voice, I respond with a smile.
“I’m glad to hear that. It seems we’ve been able to help you, Lord Urbano. We also have other projects underway. However, creating these reports takes considerable time. How about we set a regular submission once a month? Of course, we’ll submit them directly to you.”
“Um, okay. That would be appropriate. I should receive the reports myself. Kenji, I’ll be counting on you for the next report.”
“I understand. I look forward to working with you.” I bow my head.

The following details were leaked by Jilboa and Swiberry’s father-in-law during the investigation into the nobles in charge of the Adventurers’ Guild.
The report I create about the adventurers’ current status, designed to be Urbano’s achievement, seems to be groundbreaking for the adventurer business, which had previously lacked a statistical grasp of adventurers’ actual conditions. It moves up through the organization and is circulated even among the nobles of the royal capital.
As a result, the higher-ups send a great deal of praise to the city’s Adventurers’ Guild regarding this report. There is discussion about who this sharp-minded Urbano, who prepared the report, is.
I anticipated that the report would reach higher levels, but I didn’t expect such dramatic effects. Perhaps the charts, bar graphs, and pie charts I use without restraint had a significant impact. I recall that in the modern world, Nightingale used similar visual reports to persuade noble patrons of the Red Cross. In other words, a report that emphasizes visuals has a significant impact.
As a result, Urbano, who had been a lackluster middle manager in the city’s Adventurers’ Guild, gains a reputation as a capable young bureaucrat who receives praise even from the nobles of the royal capital.
Of course, Urbano, who has not grasped the substance of being a sharp-witted bureaucrat whose fame has reached even the royal capital, continues to request that we submit reports while doing his best to maintain appearances. I agree without a word, prepare a new report, and submit it.
In this way, I am protecting the public image of Urbano, a shrewd young civil servant, while helping him get promoted. Urbano remains unaware of my hidden intentions. I choose Urbano precisely because I think he won’t notice.
I continue to help Urbano maintain his facade as a sharp young bureaucrat and assist in his rise, although Urbano is unaware of my underlying intentions. Part of the reason I choose Urbano is precisely because he would not notice these intentions.
In reality, within the reports, I gradually incorporate my concerns about the high casualty rates of adventurers and the social and economic losses associated with them, as well as measures to improve these issues, presenting them as Urbano’s opinions.
For instance, I include a metric on the casualty rates of novice adventurers over a year in one of the reports. If there are no complaints, I include it again in the next report, subtly positioning it alongside economic indicators like the profitability of the adventurer business, which concern the nobility. In doing so, I aim to establish a precedent for valuing the lives of adventurers.
Unaware of my intentions, Urbano takes pride in the reports and uses them in meetings, apparently flaunting them within the adventurer guild of the city.
From his perspective, it is a rare opportunity to prove himself to the superiors, colleagues, and subordinates who had previously disparaged him as incompetent and incapable. Urbano presents my opinions with enthusiasm, as if they are his own. It is quite a spectacle.
For Urbano, a correct opinion is one that can overpower colleagues and satisfy his pride. Although the content of the praised report reaches the royal capital, it is actually my viewpoint.
What I am doing through the submission of reports is an attempt to indirectly influence decision-making concerning the kingdom’s adventurer business by feeding convenient information into the bureaucratic reporting channels.
When people or organizations make decisions, the type of information input has a significant impact on the decision-making process.
While I cannot become a noble or a staff member of the adventurer guild, I can become a conduit reporting the reality of the guild. By converting the pain on the ground into economically understandable content, I convey it as input.
It is not content that will produce immediate effects. But for now, I simply continue to do what I can without rushing.
