After the Adventurers’ Guild’s business service flopped, their interference with me stopped. It seems that bald guy is feeling quite uncomfortable within the guild. That serves him right.

However, I don’t know when the Adventurers’ Guild might come up with another harassment tactic. I might need to advance my plans to establish an office sooner. Where should I set up my office?

If I set aside my emotions, partnering with the Adventurers’ Guild and renting space within their premises would be the right move. Currently, I’m renting tables in the Adventurers’ Guild as needed, but I should make it official by paying a regular fee.

However, based on their recent tactics, I can’t expect business ethics from the guild as an organization.

In this world, class differences and the low status of adventurers play a big role. Therefore, it’s normal in a capitalist society to not expect them to uphold the promises written in contracts. Even if I were to formally rent office space under contract, it’s clear they would raise the rent once they see profits, and they might even breach the contract. The law favors the powerful.

If I want to make an equal contract in this world, I’ll need to strengthen my local connections. It might be better to rent an office outside after all. However, that would depend on whether the adventurer shoe manufacturing is running smoothly, which will take a bit more time.

Before the Adventurers’ Guild comes up with their next harassment, I need to do something. At first glance, I continued the tours for novice adventurers, which seemed to be going smoothly, albeit with some anxiety. Surprisingly, the Adventurers’ Guild made no further interventions since then.

The Adventurers’ Guild staff seemed deeply chastened by the recent service failure. Bureaucratic organizations are such that it’s okay if you don’t succeed, but failure is punishable. No one wants to take on a job that has already failed once.

Moreover, there appears to have been significant backlash from the adventurers who used the service. It seems I’ve become somewhat of a leader among the rookie adventurers, and they were displeased with the guild’s attempts to target their caretaker.

I was grateful to hear such stories from budding adventurers during the tour, and it made me realize that providing good service can indeed turn public opinion in your favor.
