Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 382
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
“Now then. I have a gift for the new recruits who’ll be running around outside the town.” With those words, I placed the bundle I’d brought onto the table.
“These are…”
“My shoes. I brought enough for everyone. They should be roughly your sizes, but let me know if they’re too tight or too loose.”
Sara and the others, who were supposed to receive the guardian’s shoes, beamed with joy as they accepted the new footwear.
“Wow! These are expensive!”
“New shoes? Incredible!”
“So these are the famous guardian’s shoes everyone talks about… They really are comfortable.”
Seeing how happy they were, I handed them another gift I’d prepared.
“Also, since you’re now civil servants, you’ll need writing materials, right?”
“A pen and… ink? But this stack of parchment looks kind of strange.”
It was a bundle of parchment tied to a wooden backboard, each sheet faintly lined with horizontal guides.
“The date goes in the top right corner, and page numbers go at the bottom. Keep your lettering uniform and within the lines. The backboard is designed so you can write while standing. The inkwell is attached to your waist to prevent spills.”
“Seriously…”
“With this, you can walk anywhere and still write while standing in the field, right?”
“Um… so…”
“That’s right. I’m sending you all on a field survey to the territory in question. These are your farewell gifts.”
The newly appointed officials, who had been so cheerful moments ago, suddenly went quiet.
“Well? What’s your response?”
“Y-yes!” Their reply lacked energy.
I smiled wryly and clarified that I wanted them to take initiative.
“I’m not saying you have to leave right away. The survey will be done in groups of six. When will you go? Should we notify the local side in advance, or make it a surprise visit? Will you need an escort? These are all things you need to discuss and decide. Once your plan is ready, submit it for review. From now on, this won’t be a battle at a desk — it will be a battle fought on the soil of the countryside. I expect everyone to give it their best.”
“Yes!” This time, the response had a bit more spirit.
Until now, it had only been training under me.
But from this point forward, each person would be expected to visit the territories in person, meet the locals, and gain the skills needed to craft practical plans grounded in firsthand observation.
I’ve laid down the basic guidelines and taught them how to act as a team.
The rest is up to them.
