Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 22
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
And so, starting from the next day, I began taking foot molds of the adventurers. As usual, I accompanied the novice adventurers on their shopping, negotiations, and settlements, and at the end of the tour, I brought them to the inn to take their foot molds.
Feeling it would be rude otherwise, I paid the innkeeper for the space, and I had the innkeeper’s wife wash the adventurers’ feet and take their foot molds. I didn’t want to touch the dirty feet of those muscular guys.
Once I paid with copper coins, they happily obliged. When asked by rookie adventurers why I do such a thing, I tell them, “I’m making magic shoes for adventurers.” I also made sure to hand them a marked piece of wood and tell them, “Once I start selling them, I’ll give you a discount.”
Perhaps because they had just come out of rural areas and hadn’t yet adjusted to city life, novice adventurers are susceptible to words like “service” and “free.”
It’s amusing to see them eagerly tuck the discount vouchers into their pockets as if they were precious, but it also makes me feel conflicted, seeing how easily they seem to be deceived. I hope they won’t end up getting fleeced down to their last hair in some brothel and learn how terrifying this town can be, but there’s nothing I can do about it.
Being infatuated with a woman and spoiling her is a man’s duty. They can do as they please. They just need to earn more to give more. That’s what being an adventurer is all about.
Over the course of about two weeks of gathering foot molds, word about my shoes had spread even within the Adventurers’ Guild.
Recently, Sarah, who seemed to have fully transformed into a sales representative lately, told me about it.
I wonder if she’s still taking on adventurer quests.
I’ve accumulated over a hundred foot molds.
Just as I was considering moving on to the next stage, an opportunity came my way.
A man named Swiberry, who serves as the vice-captain of The Fang’s Legion, came to visit me at the inn.
