Dear Readers,

Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.

In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.

Thank you for your patience and support!

If Father Serio believes the church should cooperate with adventurers, then the matter progresses quickly.

First, he shares his thoughts and current assignments.

“Actually, I saw something at the Adventurer’s Guild the other day…” I recount the story of a villager who, having traveled from afar without proper information, nearly loses his life while trying to make a request at the Adventurer’s Guild.

I then ask what he thinks about a measure to address this issue, such as placing a document in the village church that explains how to request help from an adventurer and what the costs would be.

“Yes… I think that’s a pretty good idea.” After a moment of consideration, Father Serio adds something unexpected: “Actually, this church also acts as an intermediary for requests from adventurers. Well, it’s not a huge deal. We’re now known as the ‘Adventurer’s Church,’ but there are many townspeople who are not adventurers. For them, adventurers can be both frightening and intriguing. That’s why some have asked me to talk about various things during my sermons. I also support lowering the barriers between townspeople and adventurers, so I engage in discussions with them. As a result, more and more townspeople come to me with their problems.”

The circumstances surrounding this situation are easy to imagine. To the average townsfolk, the priest is the most familiar member of the intellectual class.

Even if it’s not as pronounced as in rural areas, they likely think that while they might not know certain things, the priest surely does and that he can solve their various concerns. Addressing these issues is also a duty of the city church.

“Some of these consultations can be handled more smoothly if an adventurer is involved. I act as an intermediary and submit the requests to the Adventurer’s Guild. I can also recommend trustworthy adventurers, which seems to put the believers at ease.”

That makes sense. For the average citizen, going directly to a chaotic and potentially dangerous place like the Adventurer’s Guild to make a request must feel intimidating. Unless they are in a dire situation, they likely wouldn’t even consider it.

However, if a priest they regularly interact with recommends an adventurer, it becomes significantly easier for them to make a request.

This is an opportunity.

Here lies a chance to improve the perception of adventurers and increase requests for their services.

I suppress my excitement and continue asking questions. “What kinds of requests have you mediated? If you don’t mind sharing, I’d like to take that into consideration.”

I believe that the difference between a business plan being a pipe dream and actually bearing fruit lies in whether it is based on desire or fact. Therefore, whenever I plan a business, I prioritize thorough research and a firm grasp of the facts.

In that sense, the fact that the church’s priest is already acting as an intermediary between townspeople and the Adventurer’s Guild indicates that my idea has moved beyond mere thought, significantly increasing its potential for success.

This excitement is akin to what a scholar feels upon discovering a fact that validates their hypothesis.

Ignoring my inner thrill, Father Serio speaks in a normal tone, “So far, the most common request we handle is getting rid of slimes in the gutters.”
