Dear Readers,

Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.

In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Sara is in a good mood since this morning.

She’s humming and brewing some nice tea.

Well, it’s good to have someone in a good mood in a busy workshop where everyone is on edge.

The adventurer’s request to investigate the priest’s foot shape goes smoothly, and we now know how many shoe sizes to produce, so the workshop is in full production mode while it’s dark this morning.

To ensure that the craftsmen don’t have to do anything other than production, we’ve arranged for the wives of the craftsmen who used to come occasionally to come every day.

They are also taking care of the craftsmen’s meals.

Lately, it seems that their children are coming to help out too.

The wives and children of these craftsmen are treated as temporary helpers, so we pay them a weekly wage in low-value coins.

It’s not a huge amount, but the townspeople need cash income to live, so there’s a lot of competition for people who want to help out.

However, for now, we are not hiring anyone other than the families of the craftsmen for security reasons.

The current craftsmen stood together during the magician uprising, and I have proven with my own body that poaching from nobles and sweet offers can be dangerous to your life, so I can trust them.

In this way, people connect through business, and the circle of trust that goes beyond just financial ties spreads.

If we can keep this up, I’m sure everything will go well.

“I think we can make it in time,” I say to Sara, but as usual, there is no reply.

Curious, I turn around to see that Sara is unusually spaced out.

She had been humming and in a good mood just a moment ago, so what is wrong?

“Sara, are you feeling unwell?”

It’s true that she’s been busy up until now and has been under a lot of stress after encountering danger.

Work is finally starting to go well, so it’s not surprising that she feels relieved and unwell.

“N-no! It’s nothing. Are you okay?”

“Well, that’s fine. You can take a rest now.”

Indeed, once the shoe production starts to get on track, Sara and I are left with nothing to do.

The bigger the scale of the job, the less we can do with our hands once the work is underway.

The more smoothly the work goes, the more that’s the case.

At first, we worry about a shortage of raw materials due to the large order, but although the pioneer’s shoes have a complex structure, they don’t use a lot of raw materials.

With the help of other workshops on Leather Street, we gather the materials without much trouble.

Also, for this large order, we decide to outsource a large part of the work that had been done by the company’s craftsmen to external workshops.

We have to do this because we wouldn’t be able to keep up with production, but it also has an unexpected by-product.

By channeling funds to other workshops on Leather Street, the environment around the company improves dramatically.

Until then, Leather Street had only been inhabited by artisans, but now the artisans’ families also begin to come and go to help with cooking, and cheerful voices fill the area at mealtimes.

The artisans become more efficient, public safety improves, and the streets become cleaner.

It is by no means a large amount of money, but the positive impact that the work and wealth donated to Leather Street has is nothing short of amazing.

It is a small thing, but it brightens the lives of the people who work there and contributes to improving the surrounding environment.

I feel a little proud that I have been able to create such jobs.
