Dear Readers,

Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.

In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Anne’s sharp words jolt me back to focus.

“So, how many people are there?”

“Not a hundred.” Anne’s response is quick.

“What kind of people are they?”

“They seem to have money. But they might not have cash on hand right now.”

Well, if that’s how Anne sees it, then that’s probably the case.

“Sara, could you go take a look?”

Relying on the opinion of just one person can lead to bias, so it’s important to have multiple perspectives. Honestly, I could go myself, but there might still be assassins lurking around. Plus, if I show up, it could cause a crowd to form, making it harder for the security team to do their job. I decide to stay back.

“Leave it to me!” Sara dashes off but soon returns, her footsteps quick and excited. “Big trouble! There’s a huge crowd!”

“I heard that from Anne. What’s so ‘huge’ about it?”

“Uh… they all really want it right now! Everyone’s so eager!”

So they have a very strong desire to buy.

That makes sense, but right now, the Pioneers’ Shoes can only be sold through the church due to contractual obligations. I can’t make any easy promises to sell them to the public, but without any assurances, they probably won’t leave either.

“This is a problem…”

Anne doesn’t let me wallow in uncertainty. “What are you saying?! This is a golden opportunity! Sell them at a high price!”

“But I want the Pioneers’ Shoes to be affordable for farmers involved in the development…” I weakly counter.

Anne cuts me off with a loud voice. “Hah? Look at that crowd! Your Pioneer Shoes are now favored by cardinals! The rich are lining up, willing to spend gold coins to get them! There’s no way you can sell them at a low price now! Accept reality!”

I have nothing to say in response. Both Sara and I fall silent at Anne’s words.

But she has a point.

I too have to admit that my plan to sell the Pioneer Shoes cheaply is no longer viable. At this stage, shifting to a low-price strategy is impossible.

I take a deep breath, regroup my thoughts, and present my plan.

“First, let’s make a list. Promise to sell to everyone, but distribute reservation tickets to all potential buyers. Make it clear that the church controls the pricing and that the final price will be decided later. Only those who agree to these terms can proceed. Since most of the crowd seems wealthy, I’ll leave the explanation to Anne. Sara, I want you to handle the list, and Gorgoro, I need you to make the reservation tickets. I’ll have the Sword Fangs Legion handle security and organize the buyers. Any questions so far?”

“Can we use the workshop staff?” Gorgoro asks.

“I’ll leave it to you. Feel free to use workshop materials too.”

Anne has a question as well. “Can I use the spare shoes for the explanation?”

I think for a moment and give permission. “That’s fine. Use them sparingly as much as you can.”

Sara then asks, “What about you, Kenji?”

I answer with a shrug. “Today’s situation is unexpected. I’ll need to consult with Father Nicolo and get his approval for selling the Pioneer Shoes. I’ll write him an apology letter first. Any other questions? Alright, let’s get started.”

As soon as I give these instructions, everyone springs into action.

Watching them, I feel like our company is really becoming a team.

It takes us until early evening to handle all the reservations, but everyone looks pleased with themselves.
