Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 134
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
Just because I received an introduction letter doesn’t mean I can go to meet the cardinal unprepared and defenseless. I have no idea what kind of trouble Jilboa has offloaded onto me.
To begin with, I don’t even know where the cardinal is.
Jilboa’s writing of the letter implies that the cardinal is in this city, but whether he’s at the cathedral in the first-class district, staying at some noble’s mansion, or at the archbishop’s residence elsewhere, I have no clue.
I once went with Jilboa to report to the count, but at that time we were on high alert for assassins, so I had no chance to leisurely survey the surroundings. All I remember is that the buildings were low, and the streets were clean and quiet.
In short, I have no sense of direction in the first-class district. Going there in this state would be like walking into a death trap.
Just as I was thinking that I had to gather information, I suddenly found myself at a loss. Most of my information about the nobility came through the Sword Fangs Legion, so if Jilboa has cut off that source, I’m left in the dark.
Right now, with Jilboa around, I can just bow my head and ask for his help if needed. But if he relocates to another city, this current situation will become the norm. Perhaps he intentionally withheld information to make me realize this risk.
It’s hard for an ordinary person like me to understand what heroes are planning.

“You’re an idiot!” Anne exclaimed as she harshly criticized me, then burst into laughter.
Since she’s the most knowledgeable about the nobility in our workshop, I asked her how to meet with the cardinal. She ended up laughing so hard she had to hold her stomach.
“You have no chance of meeting with the cardinal! You need to think about your status!”
Anne’s mouth was as sharp as ever. Her sharp tongue had nearly cost her her life with a theater sponsor before, but it doesn’t seem to have changed her habit at all.
I was used to receiving some harsh words from Sara, so I showed Anne the introduction letter I got from Jilboa.
“No, I have the introduction letter. It’s just that I have no idea how to actually meet someone of such high rank. If you know, please tell me.”
“No way! You have an introduction letter! No way, let me see it!”
Saying “no way” twice, she snatched the letter from my hand. The letter was in a cylindrical tube so the contents were not visible from the outside, but the wax seal pattern indicated the sender, and the ribbon tied around it had the recipient’s name written on it.
Anne took it, examined it by flipping it over and holding it up to the light, then quietly returned the document to my hand.
“It’s genuine…” she said, sitting down and starting to think intensely about something.
What’s going on with her? From the way she’s thinking, it feels more like she’s calculating rather than just planning.
“Alright! Leave it to me!” Anne said, clapping her hands and standing up with a big smile on her face.
“Why? Do you think you can handle meeting the cardinal?” Sara unusually raised her voice at Anne. However, Anne, in high spirits, seemed completely unaffected.
“Leave it to me! I’m not just anyone who barges into noble residences and haggles for theater sponsorships! I’m an expert in arranging visits to noble households! And this time, we have a proper introduction letter! This should be easy!”
“You’re really enthusiastic about this. Is there some condition or something? Like, do you want a raise?”
“My salary is fine! What I want is to go with you to meet the cardinal! That’s the condition!”
“Well, that’s fine…”
I understand Anne’s intentions. All too easily. The cardinal is on the same level as the count in terms of wealth. The surrounding clergy and nobles are likely to be just as wealthy. Her plan seems to be to make connections with them and secure the next theater sponsor.
With how much calculation and strategy she’s showing, even I can tell what she’s up to.
Well, in reality, we’ll probably only be meeting with the practical staff rather than the wealthy cardinal himself…
I signal Sara with my gaze to hold back any objections she might have. There’s no need to dampen Anne’s enthusiasm now that it’s been sparked.
Since Anne is eager, I decided to leave the task of finding out the cardinal’s location and scheduling to her. If she says something wrong when we go on the day, it won’t be my fault.
“Alright! Let’s do our best!” Anne said, grabbing her long skirt with both hands and leaving the office at a brisk pace.
Sara and I watched her leave with lukewarm eyes.
