Wang Defa’s mind immediately conjured up images of his happy family—his loving wife and his two obedient children.

Nothing was more important than family.

A single silver coin—just give it to him. Consider it a loss for himself.

“Alright, I understand.”, Wang Defa silently left the warehouse, closing the door for Qin Siyang on his way out.

Qin Siyang then opened the [Godslayer Camp] forum and the [Sequence Education] forum, browsing through the knowledge he wanted to learn.

Since this was likely his last chance to access these resources in the near future, he made sure to go through everything in detail.

For more complex matters, he even took paper and pen from the warehouse to jot them down, to prevent any memory lapses that could lead to catastrophic mistakes.

By the time Qin Siyang left the warehouse, it was already midnight.

The internet café had long since closed, and Wang Defa had already gone home.

After locking the warehouse door, Qin Siyang confirmed that no one was around before quickly running back home.

“Today was really quite the fruitful day.”

After taking a cold shower, he lay on his bed, looked at his notes, and spoke from the heart.

“The next few days are going to be busy.”

.

Around six o’clock the next morning, after getting up and organizing his things, he used his collar to cover his face and put on a wide-brimmed hat, ensuring that no one could recognize him before heading out.

He didn’t go straight to school. Instead, he first stopped by a general store, using a copper coin to buy two envelopes, a sheet of letter paper, and a worn-out pencil. He then asked the store owner to place one envelope and the letter paper inside the other envelope.

Though the store owner didn’t know why Qin Siyang wanted to do this, he still followed the request.

Holding the envelope, Qin Siyang followed the route he had looked up the previous night, walking thirty minutes from school to the police station.

Since it was still early, there were only two officers on guard outside the police station, and the main entrance was half-open, with few people going in and out.

After surveying the area and confirming that there was a public mailbox in front of the police station, a faint smile appeared on his lips.

Then, he walked into a small alley beside the police station.

There were many homeless drifters here, mostly people who had graduated from high school and entered society, yet failed to find stable work in the impoverished outskirts of the Safe Zone.

To survive, they had sold off the houses allocated to them by the United Government, thus becoming vagrants on the streets.

Where there are vagrants, there are naturally children drifting along with them.

Many homeless people, in order to avoid being burdened by their children, simply abandoned them and went elsewhere to seek opportunities.

Thus, Qin Siyang also saw several orphaned vagrant children here.

This made him realize that, compared to them, his own unfortunate background wasn’t the worst.

At least he could still go to school and have food to eat. Unlike these children in the alley, who had lost hope the moment they were born.

Although he felt sympathy in his heart, he could only sigh helplessly, as he lacked the power to change any of it.

Walking along the dim alley, Qin Siyang stopped in front of the youngest-looking orphan, “Can you read?”

The child’s face was covered in dirt. He was gnawing on his blackened fingernails while staring at Qin Siyang with wide, curious eyes.

But since Qin Siyang’s entire face was hidden in the shadows, the child couldn’t see anything.

Qin Siyang asked again, “Do you know how to read?”

The child shook his head.

“Alright.”, Qin Siyang handed him the envelope, “Open this envelope.”

Though the child didn’t understand why, he still obeyed.

“Take out the letter paper and pencil inside.”, Seeing the child take out the materials, Qin Siyang picked up a wooden stick and found a patch of soft, damp soil, “Copy the symbols I draw on the ground onto the letter paper.”

Qin Siyang wrote two characters. The child stared at them for a long time, unable to understand their meaning.

“Just copy them as they are.”

The child grabbed the pencil in his small fist and, imitating Qin Siyang’s strokes, began drawing the characters on the letter paper.

After finishing, he looked up again, his big, innocent eyes gazing at Qin Siyang.
