Nian Zichun arrived at the Supreme Tower to find Yang Yiluo already slumped against the lamppost, fast asleep. Her long red curls fell over her face, partially obscuring it. Her high heels were crookedly twisted on her feet, presenting a rather disheveled sight. Nian Zichun, who had received a proper upbringing, had never witnessed such a decadent scene before.
“Yiluo? Wake up first,” Nian Zichun said, crouching down and gently tapping Yang Yiluo’s face. The intoxicated woman slowly opened her eyes and, upon seeing Nian Zichun, her lifeless gaze immediately regained focus.
“Oh? Nian Zichun, why are you here?” Yang Yiluo didn’t remember calling Nian Zichun.
“You called me, so I came. Let me take you home first,” Nian Zichun replied, her face filled with confusion. She clearly came at Yang Yiluo’s request.
“I don’t want to go home,” Yang Yiluo waved her hand and shook her head, still keeping her eyes closed.
“I want to go to your place,” Yang Yiluo lifted her head and gazed at Nian Zichun with pleading eyes. Her soft eyelashes trembled, and the deep furrow between her brows revealed her distress.
“I’ll be good, I want to go to your place,” Yang Yiluo tugged at Nian Zichun’s clothes, swaying unsteadily. The fabric of Nian Zichun’s clothes was pulled out of shape by the drunken woman, and Nian Zichun looked around awkwardly, hoping not to attract too much attention. This scene was truly embarrassing.
Just as Yang Yiluo managed to stand up, she immediately collapsed onto Nian Zichun’s shoulder, her body limp.
“Zichun, you smell so good,” Yang Yiluo murmured. Did she just call her Zichun? Nian Zichun could feel the warm and moist breath from Yang Yiluo against her neck, causing her face to flush slightly.
Finally, Nian Zichun managed to get Yang Yiluo into the car. Inside the car, Yang Yiluo was quiet, already fast asleep. Nian Zichun looked at the girl in the rearview mirror, feeling a softness stir within her. Does this person really have no sense of caution? What if she fell asleep like this in someone else’s car, without caring about anything?
When they got out of the car, Nian Zichun had to coax Yang Yiluo once again.
“Don’t get out, I like your car~” she said with a playful tone.
………..
Nian Zichun poured a glass of warm water for the limp Yang Yiluo. But to her surprise, Yang Yiluo mistook it for alcohol and immediately felt nauseous, vomiting all over herself and the front of the couch. Nian Zichun had just taken a shower and had to restrain her frustration. She went back to the bathroom, took another shower, and cleaned up the mess.
After vomiting, Yang Yiluo finally started to feel a bit more comfortable and awake. Her eyes casually glanced around and landed on Nian Zichun, who was wrapped in a bathrobe and blow-drying her hair. Nian Zichun, at 27 years old, had remarkably well-maintained skin. As her hair was blown by the warm air, it revealed her fair neck, seductive collarbone, and the tantalizing hint of her snowy white skin. Yang Yiluo had nothing else going for her, except for her exceptional vision. That scene was too alluring, causing her face to turn hot and nearly resulting in a nosebleed.
Nian Zichun changed her clothes and went to check on the troublesome Yang Yiluo to see if she was feeling any better.
“Yiluo, are you still feeling unwell? Your face is burning up,” Nian Zichun leaned down and gently brushed Yang Yiluo’s flushed face with the back of her hand. The position she was in made her collar open up, revealing a generous amount of skin. This simple and natural action nearly made Yang Yiluo’s heart jump out of her chest. Her head quickly nodded as if it were on a spring, followed by a shake of her head.
“Zichun, can I call you Zichun?” Yang Yiluo made an effort to calm herself down.
“If I said no, then how did you just call me?” Nian Zichun chuckled helplessly, her trigeminal neuralgia acting up.
“Oh, then I can,” Yang Yiluo replied.
“It’s late now. If you want to go home, I can drive you. If you’re tired, here, this is a new bathrobe. The room at the far end of the upstairs corridor is the guest room,” Nian Zichun’s gaze and tone were gentle. Yang Yiluo stared at her, getting lost in the increasingly captivating face…
In the end, Yang Yiluo decided to stay with Nian Zichun.
The morning sunlight gently kissed Yang Yiluo’s face, feeling as comforting as the wings of an angel. She opened her eyes and stretched lazily. She loved the morning because it symbolized a new beginning. Lawyer Nian was truly wealthy, even the guest room was so comfortable. Yang Yiluo rolled around on the queen-sized bed, extending her limbs. Why did everything belonging to Nian Zichun feel so pleasant? Just as she thought of Nian Zichun, the next moment, Yang Yiluo sat up in shock. She had actually spent the night at Nian Zichun’s house!
Yang Yiluo hurriedly got out of bed and rushed downstairs. Looking around, Nian Zichun was nowhere to be found. There was a new set of toiletries on the coffee table. Just then, Yang Yiluo received a message from Nian Zichun:
“Yiluo, you can use the things on the coffee table. Take a look in the fridge and heat up anything you want to eat. The clothes I changed yesterday morning may not be dry yet. If you’re in a hurry to leave, there are three sets of brand new clothes that I haven’t worn on the sofa for you to try on.” Yang Yiluo followed the instructions and walked to the kitchen to check the fridge. Then she returned to the living room. As she turned her head, she saw the two Gucci and one Parade shopping bags on the sofa, sparkling and shining at her!
Yang Yiluo carefully opened the bags and took out the clothes inside. They were all the latest styles, and one of the sets was even something she had only had the opportunity to try on once during a fashion show. Swiftly and skillfully, Yang Yiluo changed into the clothes, admiring herself in the mirror, feeling incredibly happy. They fit her perfectly, hugging her body in all the right places. Yang Yiluo, wearing her favorite outfit, hopped onto the spacious and comfortable sofa, taking in the slightly antique decor of the house, the wide and bright space. She took a deep breath, and the lingering scent of Nian Zichun’s perfume filled the air, intoxicating and lingering. Suddenly, Yang Yiluo felt as if she was being kept by Nian Zichun.
Nian Zichun, do you treat everyone who visits your house so well?
——————————————————————————————————————-
After An Chujie booked a hotel room, she took the money and went to the mall to buy herself some cosmetics, a few nice clothes, and a couple of high heels. She then went to the hair salon to get her hair done. She needed to find a job and wanted to present herself in the best possible way to increase her chances.
At the moment, An Chujie only wanted to find Shang Zhuoxi and have a clear conversation with her. She wanted to know if there was something wrong with her memory chain.
“…During the gastrointestinal surgery, you managed to rupture the patient’s spleen. And during the colon surgery at the beginning of the month, you accidentally cut the patient’s ureter. After causing those injuries, you stitched and repaired them, and then you told the patient and their family that the surgery was successful. Did you ever consider the potential problems that could arise later on?” In the spacious conference hall, the golden-haired queen was reprimanding the doctors for their lack of diligence. Everyone present either lowered their heads or remained silent. In previous meetings, people could still whisper and discuss things quietly, but the queen rarely displayed such anger, leaving everyone in the audience too afraid to make a sound, and the temperature dropped to freezing point.
“The two doctors, listen carefully. I won’t mention your names. I didn’t dismiss you at the beginning of the month, and I will still pay your salaries this month. After the meeting, please go to the finance department to collect your money and tidy up your offices to make way for the new recruits. Today, I also want to remind everyone that in our hospital, we never tolerate doctors who are not responsible for their patients. Well, I apologize for taking up so much of your time. You may all leave now.” Shang Zhuoxi grabbed her bag and turned around. The two doctors immediately rushed up to her, their foreheads covered in large beads of sweat.
“Director Shang, please give us another chance. The patient has been discharged and is doing well now…” The man spoke with a pained expression on his face.
“Doing well after discharge? What if other problems arise later? Haven’t you realized your own shortcomings yet?” Shang Zhuoxi was also fed up with these two individuals.
“Director Shang, we’ve been loyal doctors who worked alongside your father for so many years. Are you really going to be this heartless?” The other doctor spoke up, mentioning Shang Zhuoxi’s father.
“You should know more about my father’s situation than I do. If everyone had been careful enough during that surgery, we wouldn’t be in this situation today!” The vivid memories of that bloody incident from years ago flashed through Shang Zhuoxi’s mind.
“Director Shang!”
“There’s nothing more to say. In other industries, small mistakes might be forgivable, but as a doctor, I don’t believe that such doctors have any necessary existence. At least, not in my hospital. That’s it. Don’t waste any more time.” Shang Zhuoxi’s decision was unchangeable. The two doctors wanted to say something, but they could only watch Shang Zhuoxi’s resolute figure and let out a sigh of regret.
Tu Yi hurriedly walked out of the ward with a tray of medicine, accidentally bumping into a woman walking towards him. Tu Yi’s initial reaction was, why is this woman wearing the same perfume as Director Shang? But upon closer inspection, hey, isn’t this the poor girl who was hospitalized back then?
“Poor girl, do you remember me? Did you not eat anything when you went back? It’s truly a miracle that you survived.” Tu Yi looked at the frail girl in front of him, her white shirt tucked into her waist, and the high-quality cropped pants accentuating her slender legs, enhancing the lines of her lower body. She was still so thin, giving off a kind of poignant beauty.
“Yeah, I remember you.” An Chujie smiled, a smile that made one want to protect her.
“The little beauty remembers me? That makes me happy, big brother.”
“Excuse me, is Director Shang around?”
“She seems to be in a meeting. The queen isn’t someone we can just meet whenever we want.” Tu Yi waved his hand dismissively.
“What are you doing looking for Director Shang?” Tu Yi’s long-buried gossip heart started beating again.
“Tsk, tell me, what’s your relationship with Director Shang? Doctor-patient relationship? Friends? Sisters? With both of you looking so good, it’s not impossible. Oh, wait, it couldn’t be…” Tu Yi held the tray of medicine and took a step closer to An Chujie, cornering her against the wall.
“…She’s not here, so I’ll just leave.” An Chujie felt a bit nervous due to Tu Yi’s approach and reached up to brush her hair away from her forehead.
“Wait! I remember you getting into Director Shang’s car when you were discharged!”
“You’re busy, so I’ll go first.” An Chujie moved aside. Since Shang Zhuoxi wasn’t present, she didn’t want to waste any more time.
Tu Yi handed the tray to a passing nurse and rolled up his sleeves, determined to get to the bottom of it.
“No, little one, you have to tell me, or I won’t be able to focus on my work.” Tu Yi leaned against the wall, blocking An Chujie’s path.
An Chujie glanced at him helplessly.
“We’re just friends, okay?”
“What are you two doing?” Tu Yi’s brain instantly recognized the distinctive voice coming from the staircase. He quickly withdrew his hand. Why would Queen Shang appear at this moment?
The crisp sound of high heels echoed through the long corridor, approaching their direction. Tu Yi wanted to escape, but his feet were rooted to the spot by her imposing presence.
“Our hospital seems to have quite a few nurses, don’t they? How come you’re so idle?” Shang Zhuoxi’s eyes were fixed on the person leaning against the wall as she spoke to Tu Yi.
“Not too many, Director Shang. Our hospital only has one precious male nurse, you know. I’ll go back and take care of the medicine tray.” Tu Yi was afraid of being reprimanded by Shang Zhuoxi.
Following Tu Yi’s example, Shang Zhuoxi raised her hand and leaned against the wall, trapping An Chujie within her embrace.
“Why are you so easily restrained? Should I also speak to you like this?” Shang Zhuoxi’s body blocked the dim light in the corridor, enveloping An Chujie in her aura.
“Well… I have something I want to ask you.” An Chujie felt a bit uneasy with Shang Zhuoxi’s actions.
Shang Zhuoxi lowered her head and took a deep breath against An Chujie’s neck, letting out a soft laugh.
…Is this what they call being friends? Tu Yi hid behind the door of the duty room, stretching his neck to watch the two of them in such an ambiguous posture, his mind starting to speculate.
“Tell me, what is it that you need me to answer for you?” Shang Zhuoxi changed into her work uniform while speaking to An Chujie.
“What exactly did my father do to you all?” Upon hearing this, Shang Zhuoxi burst into laughter.
“An Chujie, the daughter of An Minli, you have such an interesting way of speaking. Shouldn’t you go and ask your dear father about it? Why are you asking me instead?” Shang Zhuoxi calmly took a sip of her tea, lazily leaning back in her chair, waiting for An Chujie’s question.
An Chujie’s question was met with mockery instead of an answer.
“If I knew where he was, I wouldn’t have come to ask you,” An Chujie’s voice had a subtle change.
Shang Zhuoxi raised an eyebrow, her azure eyes observing An Chujie’s expression with amusement.
“What else do you not understand? Hurry up and ask, I still have patients to attend to,” Shang Zhuoxi tugged at the gloves on her hands.
“That day, were your actions towards me genuine, or were you just trying to deceive me into getting on your operating table?” An Chujie’s nose tinged with sourness.
“What day? What did I do to you?” Shang Zhuoxi intertwined her hands and propped her chin on them.
“You know it yourself,” An Chujie couldn’t bring herself to say such things.
“If you don’t tell me, how would I know which incident you’re referring to? Come on, Chujie, tell me,” Shang Zhuoxi’s tone was particularly frivolous, clearly aiming to humiliate An Chujie.
“You have no shame,” An Chujie gritted her teeth and said.
Shang Zhuoxi stood up and walked towards An Chujie.
“If you continue asking, I’m afraid I might do something shameless, unless you enjoy me doing shameless things to you,” as she spoke, Shang Zhuoxi’s hand had already climbed onto An Chujie’s waist.
“Let go of me!” An Chujie pushed against Shang Zhuoxi, but the strength on her waist grew stronger. Shang Zhuoxi’s chin pressed against An Chujie’s forehead.
“Whether or not I was sincere that day, you seemed to enjoy it, didn’t you? Hmmm~ You’re wearing perfume today. Does your man know how much you love my scent?”
