GL My Goddess Best Friend’s Seduction (H) - Chapter 59
In their fifth year together, An Xiaoyu gasped for breath and asked Si Jingnian, “How about raising a child?”
Si Jingnian paused for a moment, then quickened the movement of her hands, leaving no room for An Xiaoyu to continue entertaining such thoughts.
An Xiaoyu moaned until she nearly fainted, temporarily forgetting what she had just asked.
After the passion passed, she clung to Si Jingnian like an octopus, asking again whether she wanted a child.
Si Jingnian tried to peel off the clinging octopus but failed. She sighed helplessly and said, “I already have you as my child. Taking care of you is exhausting enough.”
“Hey, hey. I thought you’d say that if we had a child, your love for me would decrease or something like that. I didn’t expect this to be your reason.” An Xiaoyu grumbled as she released her arms and legs from Si Jingnian’s body.
Si Jingnian reached out with her long arms, pulling An Xiaoyu’s soft body back into her embrace. Speaking through An Xiaoyu’s sweat-dampened hair, she said, “This is also a very important reason.”
“Hmph.” An Xiaoyu secretly felt delighted, then held her waist and went to shower. Si Jingnian followed, waiting on her like an empress.
Si Jingnian said it was wasteful to bathe separately, so the two of them had another passionate round in the bathroom.
An Xiaoyu held her old waist and wanted to cry, but had no tears.
She figured Si Jingnian did not agree with the idea of having a child and let the matter go. Their life as a couple was already very fulfilling. She enjoyed it. Adding a child would only complicate things.
An Xiaoyu actually liked children. Their parents also hoped for grandchildren. But An Xiaoyu felt it was not something to force. If Si Jingnian did not want it, then it was fine.
What she didn’t expect was that on her birthday, Si Jingnian brought home an adoption application form.
An Xiaoyu was so excited she lifted Si Jingnian and spun around the room until they were both dizzy.
The following spring, they brought home a nine-month-old baby. They named her Youyou, wishing for her to grow up without worries. As for the surname, neither of them minded. However, their parents did. In the end, Si’s mother and An’s mother played rock-paper-scissors, and it was decided the child would take the surname Si. Her full name became Si Youyou.
Si Youyou was a clever little girl. By eleven months, she could already say quite a few words. The first time she called someone “Mama,” she pointed at Si Jingnian.
An Xiaoyu thought it must be because Si Jingnian had more free time lately and was appearing in front of Youyou more often. She chalked it up to dumb luck. In truth, Si Jingnian felt very wronged, and so did Si Youyou. Every night when she woke up crying, it was Si Jingnian who comforted her back to sleep. An Xiaoyu could sleep through thunder and earthquakes.
An Xiaoyu even bragged to others that her child never cried at night and was incredibly well-behaved.
At times like that, Si Jingnian could only stay silent.
When Si Youyou learned to walk, the whole family was on edge. One moment she was playing with blocks in the living room, the next she was at the balcony pulling at the flowers.
Her tiny hands were surprisingly strong. After pulling up the grass, she shoved leaves into her mouth. When she found them unpalatable, she scrunched up her mouth and cried.
Si Youyou was not the type to cry easily. She only cried when hungry at night, when eating random things, or when she couldn’t find Mama and Mommy.
If she bumped into something, she wouldn’t cry. One time, she stood up and hit her head on the glass coffee table, leaving a big bump. Instead of crying, she giggled at the bang sound it made.
Overall, Si Youyou was an exceptionally easy child to raise.
When she turned three, Si Jingnian started a new company and became too busy to be seen. An Xiaoyu had moved into a research role and no longer had to teach classes. She occasionally mentored new teachers, but her schedule was light, so she had more time at home with Si Youyou.
Strangely, though, Si Youyou wasn’t particularly close to her.
She preferred playing with the nanny instead. In fact, both An Xiaoyu’s mother and Si Jingnian’s mother were against hiring a nanny. They each insisted that they could take care of the child themselves. But An Xiaoyu and Si Jingnian wanted to focus on their own lives, take time to rest and have fun. So they hired a nanny anyway.
Their parents still visited frequently, though.
When Si Jingnian returned from a business trip, the first one to run to the door and hug her was no longer An Xiaoyu, but Si Youyou.
Si Youyou clung to Si Jingnian’s leg, refusing to let go. Si Jingnian bent down and picked up the chubby girl, who proudly showed off to An Xiaoyu that she had her Mama in her arms.
An Xiaoyu ground her teeth. How unfair! She had clearly put in more effort, yet this child loved Si Jingnian more.
Si Youyou would not let go of Si Jingnian. When An Xiaoyu reached out to carry her, she clung tightly and refused to be held by anyone else.
It left An Xiaoyu fuming and the nanny laughing halfway to collapse.
Even worse, when the nanny carried Si Youyou to her room to sleep, the child refused to stay. She ran out and banged on Si Jingnian’s bedroom door, shouting, “Youyou wants to sleep with Mama. Mama, hold Youyou.”
Inside the room, the two women lay entwined on the bed, their breaths short and hurried.
Si Jingnian climbed off An Xiaoyu and began putting her clothes back on to go open the door. An Xiaoyu’s top was already off, and her upper body bore the marks left by Si Jingnian.
An Xiaoyu cursed under her breath but said aloud, “If you sleep with her tonight, then don’t expect to sleep with me ever again.”
Si Jingnian ignored her. She knew it was just angry talk. It was impossible to ban her from the bed.
An Xiaoyu muttered to herself that they needed to get this little brat into preschool soon.
That night, Si Jingnian placed Si Youyou between them and read her three bedtime stories before she finally fell asleep.
All of An Xiaoyu’s fire and frustration faded away with the stories. She got up intending to change her underwear in the bathroom, but Si Jingnian trapped her there.
With her body pressed to the cool bathroom wall, they gave in once again to their passion.
An Xiaoyu bit Si Jingnian hard, leaving her with little bruises. Si Jingnian sat on a bath towel, gripping An Xiaoyu’s thigh, her lips filled with the taste of slightly sour water.
The air was steamy with desire.
The next morning, Si Youyou woke up on the carpet. She climbed to her feet and found An Xiaoyu and Si Jingnian holding each other closely as they slept, completely unaware of her presence. She was furious.
Wearing her little backpack, she cried like her world had ended and said she wanted to go to Grandma’s house.
An Xiaoyu told her that going to kindergarten would make her very happy.
She was doubtful. After all, the little girl next door, Hua, cried like a puppy every day before school.
But once she went to kindergarten, Si Youyou found a girl in her class who was just as beautiful and smart as her Mama.
From that day on, she loved kindergarten. She followed the girl around with a beaming face, bringing her toys from home and offering her favorite snacks. The older girl still did not pay much attention to her, but Si Youyou liked her anyway.
When An Xiaoyu realized her daughter had a crush on another girl, she thought, Why does this feel so familiar? Isn’t this exactly how I chased after Si Jingnian?
She encouraged Si Youyou to bring the girl home.
Curiously, the girl liked An Xiaoyu very much and called her “Auntie” sweetly. She did not care much for Si Jingnian.
An Xiaoyu figured it must be a case of like repelling like.
Si Youyou decided she would treat Mommy better, since the girl she liked was so fond of her silly Mommy. There must be a reason for that.
An Xiaoyu was speechless. She never imagined her daughter would only start liking her because of another girl.
Bittersweet, really.
But at least this way, she would have more time to sleep with Si Jingnian.
