GL My Goddess Best Friend’s Seduction (H) - Chapter 50
Si Jingnian wrapped her arms around me in a firm and tender embrace, holding me as though she never wanted to let go.
I quietly reached for her sleeve, then slid my hand up to wrap around her waist, pulling her even closer.
Her scent filled my nose, wrapping around me like a warm blanket. It made me feel safe and content.
Within minutes, I had drifted off to sleep in her arms.
We stayed like that, snuggled together, until the next morning. That day, Si Jingnian skipped her usual morning jog. The alarm clock jolted me awake. I lifted my head from where it had rested against her chest and tried to put some space between us, only to realize she was already awake.
She was staring straight at me. Her gaze felt sharp, like it could cut through me, making me uncomfortable. I didn’t know what to say or do. My first instinct was to look away.
I quickly sat up, trying to create some distance, but she pulled me back into her arms. I was trapped in her soft embrace, unable to move.
Si Jingnian sighed softly, completely at ease. “Just let me hold you a little longer, Xiaoyu.”
Her voice softened something inside me.
It was rare to see this gentle, vulnerable side of her. It made me want to protect her.
I let my guard down and melted into her embrace. I reached out with my left hand and hugged her back.
At first, the hug was pure and comforting. But maybe we held each other for too long. A heat started to rise from deep in my stomach. The longing was overwhelming.
I pulled away from Si Jingnian and leaned back against the cool wall, taking deep breaths to calm myself down.
But she leaned in again, pressing me gently against the wall and locking me in place. Being pinned like that would usually feel suffocating, but because it was her, I didn’t really mind.
“Why are you pulling away?”
She lifted my chin with her delicate hand. Her index finger brushed across my chin and moved slowly up to my lips. She gently stroked them, and even though her touch was light, it set my lips ablaze and made my thoughts scatter.
“…I don’t know.”
“It’s been so many days. Don’t you miss me?” she asked in a calm, almost casual voice, as if she were talking about the weather.
“…Of course not,” I mumbled in a pout, avoiding her eyes. I looked downward instead and accidentally got caught up in the elegant curve of her collarbone and the dip of her chest.
I swallowed hard. My whole body felt like it was on fire. There was no way I didn’t miss her. Just one word from her made me feel like I was overflowing.
“Oh? Is that so?” Si Jingnian raised an eyebrow, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.
The next moment, her long leg pushed firmly between mine, giving me no time to react. I instinctively squeezed my legs together.
Her free hand moved to stop me from closing them. Then, through the fabric of my sleepwear, she touched me.
She chuckled quietly. “You’re already wet and still say you don’t miss me?”
Her teasing felt like a spark dropped on dry wood. I couldn’t hold back anymore. My lips clamped down on her finger, gently biting to release the tension and need I felt.
Si Jingnian approached the situation with the same dedication as Yu the Great in controlling the floods. She came close to crossing the line three times, but each time, she held herself back and never fully crossed it. Unsurprisingly, her efforts to restrain the flood failed, and the entire landscape, from the fields to the forest, was completely submerged.
Even her hand.
While I bit down on her finger to stifle any sounds, my body reached its peak. She lifted her soaked hand into the air. It shimmered, slick and glistening.
I turned my head away, too embarrassed to look.
She took that moment to open my sleepwear. A large area of skin was exposed to the cool air in the room, and I immediately got goosebumps.
She leaned in, warming me again with her lips and tongue.
…
In a rush, Si Jingnian drove me to work.
As we stepped out of the bedroom, Auntie Luo Lan had already finished making breakfast. She was wearing headphones, listening to what sounded like an audio drama. When she saw us, her face lit up with a kind, joyful smile.
I felt a wave of panic. Her smile made me feel like she knew exactly what had happened that morning.
No, no, I couldn’t let myself think about that.
During breakfast, I kept my head down, focusing on my porridge and side dishes. I didn’t dare meet Auntie Luo Lan’s eyes.
It was incredibly awkward to have a parent know that I had skipped “morning court duties,” even if that parent was someone as warm and familiar as her.
That Monday morning, Auntie Luo Lan invited me to go shopping. She said she wanted to look at some jewelry, so we went to a well-known jewelry store in the capital city.
The shop was filled with dazzling pieces, including gold, jade, and diamonds. They even had diamond tiaras, the kind of thing you’d only expect to see in a fairy tale.
Auntie Luo Lan kept asking me which gold bracelets looked good, whether they seemed too old-fashioned or too youthful. I told her honestly that they all looked beautiful and that she had excellent taste.
And she truly did. She didn’t need my opinion to make her choices.
She picked out a few diamond necklaces and eventually chose an especially ornate one. It suited her perfectly. Then she cheerfully asked me to try on a few pieces.
I panicked and waved my hands. “I really don’t need to, Auntie.”
But she and the salesgirl persuaded me. “Trying them on doesn’t cost anything,” they said. So I ended up trying on multiple bracelets, necklaces, and even a tiara.
In the end, Auntie Luo Lan bought an entire jewelry set, which included a bracelet, earrings, a necklace, and a ring.
The salesgirl packed everything into an exquisite gift box.
I instinctively offered to carry the shopping bags for Auntie Luo Lan. Afterward, we stopped by several clothing stores, both for custom pieces and well-known brands.
We went on a full-blown shopping spree.
Over lunch, Auntie Luo Lan casually mentioned that the jewelry set was for me.
I stared at her in shock and quickly waved my hands. “No, I can’t accept something like that, Auntie.”
“Of course you can. It’s a welcome gift from me to my daughter-in-law.”
“Auntie… we’ve met before. You really don’t have to give me anything.” Hearing her call me “daughter-in-law” made me blush. Still, deep down, I already knew I would probably accept it. It felt just like when relatives stuffed red envelopes into your hands during the holidays. You always ended up taking them.
“I may have seen you before,” she said, stressing her next words with playful emphasis, “but this is the first time I’ve met my daughter-in-law.” She smiled, eyes twinkling.
“Xiaoyu, you should accept it. If you don’t, I won’t recognize you as Jingnian’s girlfriend,” Auntie Luo Lan said with a wink.
I smiled awkwardly and accepted the gift. Holding that heavy jewelry box in my hands, I suddenly felt like I had taken one step closer to marriage. My heart was beating fast.
There was something about it that made me look forward to what might come next.
After that, Auntie Luo Lan became even warmer toward me. She started asking about our thoughts on marriage and children.
I told her honestly that we didn’t have any plans just yet. She looked a little disappointed but quickly regained her cheerful spirit. She said there was no need to rush, and that we should take our time and go at our own pace.
I nodded and agreed.
Having such an understanding mother-in-law was truly a blessing. Since I already felt comfortable around her, it made everything even better.
After staying with us for a little over a week, Auntie Luo Lan returned to Liu City.
Not long after she left, summer vacation came to an end.
Si Jingnian and I made plans to visit Australia after the holidays. We wanted to take a break so that we could relax, recharge, and enjoy a short escape together.
