“Did your suggestion even work? She doesn’t look like she reacted at all.” As soon as Wei Xia stepped into the room, she called that rascal Zhou Lu.

Zhou Lu replied, “Of course it worked. That’s how you coax a lover. Say some sweet things, give her a bit of money. What’s she doing now? Still not talking or looking at you?”

Wei Xia glanced at the airtight balcony door. “She’s still on the balcony.”

“She didn’t pounce on you yet?” Zhou Lu was doubtful. “Did you offer double the price?”

“I did. No reaction.” Wei Xia’s tone turned cold, as if Zhou Lu’s failing idea was an unforgivable offense. “Are you even any good at this?”

Zhou Lu mumbled, “Could it be that double still isn’t enough? That doesn’t make sense…”

“She’s coming in.” Wei Xia cut the call without waiting for a reply. She kept her expression natural and walked over to pour herself a glass of water just before the balcony door opened.

While raising the glass to drink, she used the corner of her eye to peek at Ji Haolan, watching for any reaction.

Unexpectedly, Ji Haolan walked over and stopped right behind her. The moment Wei Xia put the glass down, Ji Haolan suddenly picked her up.

“What are you doing? Doesn’t your burn hurt anymore?” Wei Xia looped her arms around Ji Haolan’s neck as she was carried into the bedroom.

“It doesn’t hurt,” Ji Haolan replied without blinking. It really didn’t hurt much anymore. She pressed Wei Xia down. “Want to do it?”

Wei Xia pushed her away. “No. You’re injured and still thinking about s*x.”

“Really not doing it?” Ji Haolan lowered her head and rubbed her nose along Wei Xia’s neck. “Really not?”

The gentle nuzzling tickled Wei Xia. Normally, she would have let Ji Haolan do whatever she wanted. But today Ji Haolan was burned, and any intimacy would definitely bump the wound. Wei Xia hesitated, then pushed her away again. “Move. I’m not interested in sleeping with someone who’s injured.”

With no chance of success, Ji Haolan sat off to the side, clearly annoyed. After a moment, she asked again, “Just once?”

Wei Xia couldn’t help laughing at how persistent she was. “You really want to?”

Only then did Ji Haolan realize how desperate she sounded. Her face turned bright red. She must have been holding back for several days, and the frustration was showing. “I don’t.”

Wei Xia eyed her with amus*ment. “Then maybe you want to rub against my leg instead?” She lifted her robe as she spoke, exposing a long, smooth, pale leg stretched out on the bed.

“No!” Ji Haolan’s face stayed red as she turned away and yanked the blanket over her head, hiding under it.

Wei Xia chuckled at her reaction. She reached over and poked her through the blanket. When Ji Haolan really didn’t come out, Wei Xia simply crawled under the covers too.

“No s*x is fine, but you still have to cuddle me to sleep.” She flipped Ji Haolan over and squeezed into her arms. “We’ll see how your wound looks tomorrow. We haven’t done it in days, and I’m definitely not letting you off the hook again.”

“Stop talking. You’re really shameless.” Ji Haolan couldn’t stand it.

Wei Xia gave a smug little laugh, then reached out and turned off the bedside lamp.

Not long after, Ji Haolan fell asleep, hugging her like a child. As she slept, she instinctively pulled her closer and mumbled softly in her dreams.

Wei Xia quietly reached for her phone and sent Zhou Lu a message. “Guess you were useful after all.”

She didn’t bother waiting for a reply. Tossing the phone aside, she snuggled back into Ji Haolan’s arms.

The next morning, Ji Haolan was woken up again by Wei Xia. She felt something cool on her side and slowly opened her eyes. Wei Xia was already up, sitting at the edge of the bed, with Ji Haolan’s pajama top pulled up to her neck. She was rubbing ointment into the burn on her side.

The wound was coated in a glossy layer of medicine. Wei Xia’s hand moved across her stomach, carefully spreading the ointment. Ji Haolan propped herself up and looked down. As she tensed her stomach muscles, the faint outline of her abs showed through, glistening beneath the salve.

Seeing that it was Wei Xia applying the medicine, she lay back down. Wei Xia calmly withdrew her hand and said, “You need to put some around the edges too. It helps prevent infection.”

Ji Haolan murmured in acknowledgment. Then she added, “If you want to touch me, just say so.” She really didn’t care about Wei Xia’s sneak attacks. There was no need for excuses.

Wei Xia’s pale cheeks flushed slightly but quickly returned to normal.

As for why she had to pull the shirt all the way up just to rub ointment on her belly, Ji Haolan chose not to ask. She adjusted her top and reached for her phone to check the time. “Why are you up so early?” she mumbled. Then she pulled Wei Xia onto the bed, ready to keep sleeping.

After a full week of studying and exams, the weekend had finally come. Ji Haolan planned to enjoy a long, lazy sleep. But Wei Xia was already up and moving around. Ji Haolan clung to her, hoping to keep her in bed for at least another hour or two.

Wei Xia stayed quiet for a bit, nestled in her arms. Then she gave Ji Haolan’s shoulder a firm twist. “Get up. I’m taking you out.”

“I don’t want to go…” Ji Haolan mumbled, still too sleepy to open her eyes.

Wei Xia let her sleep for ten more minutes, then twisted her shoulder again, just as cruelly. Ji Haolan stayed limp, pretending the shoulder now belonged to Wei Xia. She tilted her head and tried to go back to sleep. In the end, Wei Xia heartlessly kicked her out of bed.

Ji Haolan looked miserable. “I’m injured. I should be allowed to eat and sleep more,” she grumbled with a pout.

Wei Xia lay on the bed and looked at her coldly. “No pouting. Get up and go wash. I’ll pick your clothes.”

Ji Haolan muttered softly under her breath as she shuffled into the bathroom. When she came out, Wei Xia had already laid out an outfit. It looked like she had pulled the clothes from the closet and thrown them onto the bed. The blanket was still a mess.

Wei Xia liked things clean and tidy, but her actual cleaning skills were nonexistent. She was clearly used to someone else tidying up after her. And when she was with Ji Haolan, Ji Haolan naturally stepped into that role.

“Wear this top and this pair of pants. Something loose today,” Wei Xia said, pointing to the items as she followed Ji Haolan, who had started folding the blanket.

“Okay,” Ji Haolan replied. She also began returning the clothes that had been pulled out but not chosen back to the wardrobe.

Only after they arrived at their destination did Ji Haolan understand why she had to wear something breezy and nautical. Wei Xia hadn’t told her anything in advance, but she had brought her straight to the beach. A massive private yacht was waiting at the dock.

Their friends arrived around the same time. Zhou Lu brought a whole group, and Zhuang Ruolan also showed up with several people. Only Wei Xia had come with just Ji Haolan. All in all, around twenty to thirty people were there to board the yacht.

Zhuang Ruolan’s situation was similar to Wei Xia’s. She brought along three or four companions, including Xu Jiayan, who had recently returned from abroad and was clearly tagging along with her cousin.

When she spotted Wei Xia, Zhuang Ruolan came over with a teasing smile. “The moment Xiao Yan heard you were coming, she insisted on joining us.”

Everyone knew Xu Jiayan liked hanging around Wei Xia. As soon as she heard some people were going on a yacht and that Wei Xia would be there, she started begging Zhuang Ruolan to take her. She wouldn’t stop until her cousin gave in.

Zhuang Ruolan didn’t see a reason to refuse and brought her along. That morning, Xu Jiayan had already changed outfits several times and done her makeup with extra care. Zhou Lu couldn’t help teasing her. “Are we throwing a dance party on the yacht? Our Xiao Yan looks like she’s dressed for a ball.”

Xu Jiayan stomped her foot in embarrassment. “Sister Zhou Lu, you’re so annoying!” Her eyes shifted nervously as she kept sneaking glances at the person behind Wei Xia, and a soft blush colored her cheeks.
