Dimensional Supermarket - Chapter 86
They are standing outside the supermarket. Behind the glass door, Sarah chews on chili peppers, her expression like she has a personal grudge against them. She chews with focused intensity, as if the peppers have wronged her.
Cao’er has seen her eat chilies like this before, but every time, it still freaks her out. It looks like Sarah might spit fire any second.
“Sister, why are you so angry?” Cao’er asks in a low voice.
Sarah’s expression is blank. She grits her teeth and says, “Angry? I’m not angry. Not angry at all.”
She isn’t Ye Zhou’s biological daughter. She has an adult soul inside a child’s body. She sees Ye Zhou as her father—but Ye Zhou doesn’t know her. He has no emotional attachment to her. What can she do?
Zou Ming can teach Ye Zhou how to fight. Chen Shu can too. But what can she teach him? How to bite? How to scratch?
So all she can do is wait. Wait for Ye Zhou to notice her and recognize her.
What else can she say? “You saved me, so I see you as my father”?
Ye Zhou won’t love her like a daughter just because of that. He isn’t insane.
He’ll probably think something’s wrong with her. Maybe even avoid her.
“Being a man has its advantages.” Sarah clenches her teeth. “If I were a man…”
Cao’er only catches the last sentence and quickly says, “Sarah, don’t think that way. Being a woman is great.”
Sarah replies calmly, “You don’t understand.”
If she were a boy, Ye Zhou wouldn’t avoid her. They’d be able to spend more time together.
Isn’t Zou Ming benefiting from being the same gender as Ye Zhou?
If Zou Ming were a woman, Ye Zhou would never live in the same room as him.
Sarah doesn’t want to keep watching. She thinks Zou Ming is full of schemes—pretending to be weak, pretending to be capable of everything.
She grabs another bag of dried chili and shoves it into her mouth.
She’ll turn grief and anger into appetite.

Ryan, who is already down to his last coin, finally sees his uncle arrive. He waits by the roadside with his attendants and spots his uncle riding over from a distance. As soon as he sees him, he forces a smile and finally feels a sense of relief.
His uncle, Claire, is different from him. Claire has inherited their grandfather’s title. He is not only an earl with vast lands, but has also married a duke’s daughter. His life is smooth and privileged. Even if he accomplishes nothing, he can live comfortably off his inherited wealth.
Ryan used to envy that—to the point of jealousy. But now, not anymore.
After all, he’s someone blessed by the Moon God.
He’s happy to let his uncle take advantage of the situation. But as for Lord Moon God—his uncle doesn’t need to meet Him.
The horses draw nearer. Claire reins in his steed and dismounts. The two embrace briefly, and Claire wastes no time asking, “Your letter was too vague. Where exactly did that gem come from? Do you have more? Can it still be bought? What’s the price? I brought plenty of gold this time.”
Claire has a face similar to Ryan’s, but since he isn’t as fat, his eyes don’t look as small. Though in his forties, he’s still fit and handsome.
“Uncle, come inside first. We’ll talk slowly.” Ryan glances at Karl, who quickly goes to handle the knights Claire brought with him.
As they walk together, Claire can’t help asking, “That gem you sent me—unbelievable. Even the merchants I stay with in the royal city say it could buy a small town. How much did it cost?”
They haven’t seen each other in years, but because of shared interests, there’s not a hint of awkwardness between them.
Shared profit is a stronger bond than blood.
Ryan leads Claire into the study—the only room presentable enough for guests. He figures the Moon God won’t be interested in books, so he hasn’t offered them. In Ryan’s eyes, gods have no use for human wisdom.
Or rather, humans have no wisdom—everything comes from divine grace.
“Uncle, I didn’t just call you here for the gems. There’s something else.” Ryan signals the servant, who goes to a cabinet and carefully places a box in front of him.
Ryan opens it slowly and with great care.
Even Claire—who’s seen the finest things in life, even treasures from the king—can’t help holding his breath at the sight of the glass bird inside. His eyes light up, as if enchanted. After a long moment, he finally looks up and asks in a fervent tone, “Where did this come from? Who made it?!”
Ryan says calmly, “Uncle, don’t tell anyone about this when you return. This was given to me by the Moon God.”
He deliberately leaves out the part about Kurt being the actual recipient.
“The Moon God?” Claire looks stunned.
Ryan leans in and begins to quietly explain what has happened recently.
Claire doesn’t speak for a long time. At first, he wants to scold Ryan. If a god were to descend, surely it would be to a grand church in the royal city—not to this remote place. But as he stares at the glass bird, he can’t bring himself to say anything.
“You offered everything you had?” Claire asks in disbelief.
Ryan whispers, “Yes. But the Moon God left me a box of gems. The one I sent you is actually just an average one from that box—not even the biggest.”
“To get something this rare, it must have cost you a fortune…” Claire rubs his chin. He has completely bought into Ryan’s story and begins scheming. “So… is the Moon God a man or a woman right now?”
Ryan answers quietly, “A man.”
Claire nods. “I’ll prepare both a beautiful man and woman. No matter the preference, we’ll be ready.”
Ryan looks annoyed. “I completely forgot about that.”
In mythology, although the Moon God isn’t as carefree as the Sun God, He has plenty of lovers.
As a man, He likes proud, beautiful women. As a woman, She likes strong and upright young men.
Claire looks pleased. “I still have the sword the king gave me. I’ll have it brought here.”
Ryan is touched. “Uncle, you’re really good to me.”
Claire’s expression turns serious. He wags his finger. “Don’t misunderstand—I do want something in return. I want to live here. When Lord Moon God appears again, I want to witness it myself.”
Ryan falls silent.
Claire sneers. “Did you really think I’d give all this gold and effort for nothing? Do you think I can’t offer just as much to Lord Moon God as you? If He’s real—I’ll give Him everything.”
