Chapter 6 Handsome Man (1)

In her current position, Zhao Xian naturally wouldn’t do such things, as any slight mistake could cost her dearly.

Creak…

As soon as she finished speaking, the attendants who used to serve Zhao Xian lined up and entered the room. Some carried toiletries, some held containers of hot water, and others bore clothing. Each person approached her in turn.

Zhao Xian tilted her head to glance at the basin of water, noting its warmth, indicating that it had just been heated. It seemed that these people had been waiting specifically for her to wake up this morning.

“Please wash up, Your Excellency…” The leading young man respectfully said and placed the basin on the nearby shelf before retreating to the side respectfully.

Zhao Xian was taken aback. It seemed that the original owner also didn’t like people serving her personally.

She quickly began to wash her face and freshen up.

As soon as she finished washing up, another young man stepped forward holding clothes. “Your Excellency, please change your clothes…”

Thinking about how it was described in the novel, every time Zhao Xian changed her clothes, the attendants would carefully hang each piece on the hanger for her to wear.

As expected, the attendants hung the clothes neatly on the hanger, smoothing out any wrinkles.

“Your Excellency, we will take our leave now.” The three young men finished everything respectfully and withdrew. Naturally, they didn’t dare to watch the Prime Minister change clothes; they didn’t have the courage for that.

After the attendants left, the room fell silent once again.

Zhao Xian turned to look at the clothes on the hanger.

One inner garment, along with an outer coat, combined to form an exquisite gray-white embroidered cloud-patterned splendid court attire.

She raised her eyebrows and walked over to pick up the clothes, feeling the fabric.

The material was of excellent silk

After a quick glance, Zhao Xian took a deep breath, pulled the clothing belt, and began to change clothes…

Putting on the clean inner garment, followed by the outer coat, she then started buttoning up the decorative buttons. In ancient times, buttons were made of fabric, which was actually quite fine.

Once dressed, she glanced at the nearby hanging ornament, a green jade pendant, likely a piece frequently worn by the previous occupant of this room.

Frowning slightly, Zhao Xian calmly tied it around her waist.

Internally, she couldn’t help but curse—ancient people were really troublesome, with so many intricacies even in dressing, and each outfit had its fixed accessories.

However, the color and quality of this jade pendant were exceptionally good, probably worth a fortune if auctioned in modern times.

It appeared that this Zhao Xian did indeed come from a wealthy background. After dressing, Zhao Xian couldn’t help but rub her forehead. She felt a slight haze clouding her thoughts at the moment.

After dressing, Zhao Xian walked to the door and reached out to open it.

A gentle breeze brushed against her face instantly, soft and soothing. Looking out into the courtyard, she saw the bright sunlight outside, with butterflies flying over the distant flower bushes.

She walked out of the room slowly, taking her first real breath of fresh air.

What a strange world! What will life be like in the future?

She strolled along the corridor, her eyes scanning the surroundings. The courtyard here appeared boundless, adorned with artificial hills, lengthy corridors, and successive pavilions. In the distance, she could even spot a sizable artificial lake, bordered by willow trees swaying in the breeze.

On the lake, one could see a few lotus flowers just blooming on the green leaves in a hurry.

At a glance, you could tell it was June, the time when the weather was beginning to turn hot.

As Zhao Xian’s gaze swept around, she could also see guards patrolling back and forth.

The area was expansive and heavily guarded, truly luxurious, fitting for the residence of Zhao Xian, the traitorous minister.

Walking down the corridor, she made her way through the courtyard. Everyone she encountered along the way lowered their heads and stepped aside, trembling as if they wished to vanish into the ground.

Is she so scary? Looking at the expressions of these people, Zhao Xian couldn’t help but feel puzzled and amused.
