Chapter 5 Not All Novels Are Deceptive

A gust of wind swept by, and the four people appeared in a row, simultaneously dropping to one knee and saying in unison, “What are your orders, Your Excellency.”

Zhao Xian raised an eyebrow, just as she expected. Sometimes TV dramas and novels were indeed accurate. She guessed right, but what were the names of these individuals?

“It’s nothing serious, just tidy up the tasks each of you is responsible for, and let me have a look to see if anything has been overlooked. I have too many things on my mind, and I can’t remember everything at once.” Although she had read the book, it only provided a summary. The actual details were not mentioned, so in order to survive, she needed to understand everything the original owner had done.

It’s really inconvenient that she doesn’t have the memory of Zhao Xian. Zhao Xian was accustomed to giving orders before she transmigrated, so naturally, she could continue to survive as this Zhao Xian after transmigrating.

The black-clad individuals didn’t say much, naturally not suspecting Zhao Xian’s authenticity, as the shadow guards were always vigilant, and Zhao Xian couldn’t possibly be fake.

Who would know that her soul was different now? So as long as she figured things out, there would be no problem.

The woman in the lead nodded “Yes, Your Excellency…”

Seeing these cold and aloof individuals, Zhao Xian didn’t rush to ask for their names. Otherwise, it might raise suspicion.

“You may leave!” Zhao Xian waved her hand.

The black-clad individuals all said in unison, “We take our leave.”

Swoosh…

The figures of the few individuals disappeared, and the room fell silent instantly.

…

Seeing that she was the only one left in the room, Zhao Xian let out a sigh and turned back to lie down on the bed.

The tassels on the bed canopy swayed above her head, and the light gray canopy still displayed an elegant and vintage floral pattern. As Zhao Xian surveyed the unfamiliar surroundings and observed the antique bed canopy, a frown creased her brow. Frustrated, she pulled the blanket over herself.

The world suddenly quieted down, and darkness enveloped her, yet her mind couldn’t settle down.

This day was truly unbelievable. She desperately wished it was all just a dream, and that upon waking up, she would find herself back in her own bed.

But the harsh reality was that she wasn’t dreaming. All she craved in that moment was tranquility, followed by a restful sleep, so she could awaken and begin exploring this unfamiliar world.

Anyway, she was alone wherever she went, so what did it matter?

Zhao Xian forced herself to close her eyes and began to quietly relax.

…

She slept for over an hour until her stomach growled, prompting her to sit up and rub her slightly sore forehead.

Looking around, the scene was still unfamiliar, with antique furnishings.

“Damn it…” Zhao Xian cursed under her breath, then glanced at her loose clothes with a wry smile. She simply lifted the blanket and sat at the edge of the bed.

A cold breeze brushed past, bringing a slight chill.

However, this body didn’t feel a thing, given that the original owner had extraordinary martial arts skills.

Her martial arts skills were formidable, yet it was evident she lacked proficiency in utilizing them. As a transmigrated individual, she herself didn’t possess martial arts skills, but remnants of the original owner’s internal energy remained within her. Thus, despite her lack of training, she could still sense the ample strength coursing through her body.

It seemed that if she wanted to use it freely, she would have to find some martial arts manuals to practice with.

With this in mind, Zhao Xian stood up and looked around.

Lifting her gaze to the door, the original owner’s internal energy also enhanced her hearing. At this moment, she knew that the several men who had left earlier were still standing outside, waiting for her.

This treatment, she truly felt unworthy of it.

“Come in.” However, having transmigrated into Zhao Xian, she naturally couldn’t behave like those transmigrated women who either befriended the servants or flaunted their talents in various ways. Only fools did that. You never knew what others might say behind your back. Even if they didn’t speak directly to your face, they might still ridicule you behind your back.
