Chapter 20 Why Am I Thinking of Him Again?
Zhao Xian had been walking all day and was indeed quite tired. Following the servant into the bathing area, she couldn’t help but twitch her mouth slightly.
She felt like this treatment was barely fit for an emperor! This wasn’t just a bath, it was practically soaking in a hot spring. It was such a waste of water.
“Master, please, we’ll take our leave. Call us if you need anything.” The servant was familiar with Zhao Xian’s habits, so as usual, after putting away her clothes, they exited and respectfully stood at the door.
Zhao Xian looked at the steaming water in the pool, loosened her belt, and removed her clothes…
Sitting in the bath, Zhao Xian was left with only her head above water. Perhaps feeling too comfortable, she unconsciously leaned against the edge of the pool and fell asleep.
In her dream, she seemed to have arrived in a dark place.
She was startled and looked around, unable to help muttering to herself.
“What is this place? How did I end up here?”
“Zhao Xian…”
As she was muttering, a familiar voice sounded in her ears. She was stunned and raised her head in disbelief to look at the woman in front of her.
“Mom…”
The person standing in front of her is none other than her 21st century adoptive mother.
“It’s me, silly child.” The woman in front of her seemed much younger, no longer the woman who had worked tirelessly for her, worn out and haggard.
“Mom, I miss you so much.” For the first time, Zhao Xian couldn’t hold back her tears.
She prided herself on being strong, but in front of this person, she would always be a child. Although this person wasn’t her biological mother, for Zhao Xian, she was even closer than her biological mother.
“Mom misses you too, my child. Don’t worry, Mom is doing fine. Mom just wants to tell you that she can’t be with you anymore, so you shouldn’t be lonely all the time. If you meet the right man in the future, someone who can accompany you for life, you should cherish fate. Mom knows that you’re naturally indifferent and don’t care about anything because you’re an orphan. But my child, this way you might miss out on fate. Mom hopes you’ll be happy.”
Zhao Xian nodded, “Okay, Mom, I understand. Mom, where are you? Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, Mom is fine! Maybe we’ll meet again if we’re fated to. Go back now, my child…”
Zhao Xian spoke softly, “Mom…”
“Mom…” Zhao Xian suddenly opened her eyes, greeted by the familiar scenery of an ancient and elegant place.
Looking at the scene before her, she sighed. So, it was just a dream! She remembered her mother was no longer alive, how could she still see her?
“Mom, you may not know what bizarre things I have experienced now! Mom, I miss you.” Zhao Xian said, unable to help but wipe away the tears from the corner of her eye.
With a sigh, she submerged her entire head into the water, holding her breath for a full minute before standing up.
“Phew…” Exhaling, Zhao Xian reached for a towel to dry her face before stepping out of the water.
…
Standing in front of the screen, she picked up a towel to dry herself, then picked up the clean clothes hanging on the screen and put them on.
After checking herself and feeling satisfied, she turned and walked out of the room. Glancing back at the steaming water, she muttered to herself.
Treasure fate?
But where is her fate? Now, even she herself is still confused about how she became this person, let alone what her fate is.
The figure of Gu Tingshu came into her mind again, the gentleman as gentle as jade.
“Why am I thinking of him again?” This feeling wasn’t pleasant at all.
Storyteller Valeraverucaviolet's Words
There is not Chapter 19 from the author. Ok, there was a chapter 19 but there's no story in it. Just a passage of promotion for her other novels so I didn't include it here as it's not relevant to the story. We'll move on directly to chapter 20
