Chapter 26: One Punch—Xuanwang Severely Injured!

Li Yan knew that Xuanwang and Xuansha had abducted all those disciples. Killing them would mean nothing to the two old ghosts; they were as insignificant as ants to them. Their curses were merely a provocation, designed to trick him into revealing his weaknesses. Conversely, if he could make those two old ghosts suffer…

His mind raced. Li Yan glanced at Su Mo, the Corpse Puppet following closely behind him. “Come, drip some Death Yin Blood onto my shadow.”

Su Mo obeyed instantly. The fairy raised her arm and gently scraped her delicate skin with a long, slender nail. Blood droplets beaded on her pale skin, slowly trickling down.

Drip… drip… drip…

A few drops of blood landed on Li Yan’s shadow. He swiftly formed a hand seal, drawing the Death Yin Blood into the shadow. The blood-infused shadow surged across the ground, materializing behind Old Ghost Xuanwang in the blink of an eye.

The old ghost and his Martial Uncle Xuansha remained vigilant in the dense mist, secretly communicating through spiritual transmission.

“Where did this traitorous disciple obtain a Golden Body Dharma Idol? How else could he sneak up on us so silently?”

Martial Uncle Xuansha frowned deeply. “He must have found some treasure in Broken Sword Valley. We absolutely cannot let him leave alive!”

“Of course! Those treasures rightfully belong to me!”

Xuanwang’s expression twisted into a malevolent grimace, his voice dripping with venom. “If I hadn’t brought you, you traitorous disciple, back to the Tranquil Void Temple, you’d be rotting in some desolate wilderness by now!”

“Isn’t filial piety toward one’s master a fundamental virtue?”

As Xuanwang spat out these words, Li Yan’s shadow stealthily positioned itself behind him.

Li Yan silently chanted, “Blood Shadow Art—Blood Feeding!”

Having absorbed the Corpse Puppet’s blood, the shadow unleashed a surge of primal power.

The Golden Body Dharma Idol rose from the ground, its height doubling from twelve feet to a towering twenty-four.

A semi-transparent fist hurtled toward the back of Xuanwang’s skull!

The massive arm of the Dharma Idol, rippling with monstrous muscles and radiating savage, primal power, slammed down on Xuanwang.

Xuanwang snorted dismissively. “Trifling tricks! How dare you show off your pitiful skills before this old one!”

The arrogant Old Ghost Xuanwang turned to face the blow, catching the barrel-sized fist with a single palm.

Boom!

The Golden Body Dharma Idol and Old Ghost Xuanwang clashed, unleashing a whirlwind of sand and dust that obscured the battlefield.

When the dust settled, the Dharma Idol had vanished, its shadow fleeing back into Li Yan. Only Xuanwang remained standing.

Having stubbornly withstood the full force of the blow, Xuanwang found himself surrounded by concerned voices.

“Junior Brother, are you alright?”

“Master?!”

Unfazed by the inquiries, Xuanwang nonchalantly brushed the dust from his robes. “It’s nothing!”

Seeing Old Ghost Xuanwang remain unfazed, Li Yan grew puzzled.

“Strange,” he thought. “That punch wasn’t just my full strength, but it also absorbed Su Mo’s blood. It should have at least caused him some damage.”

As Li Yan pondered in the shadows, Old Ghost Xuanwang turned away, a thin trickle of blood seeping from the corner of his mouth.

The old ghost didn’t want his disciples to discover his minor injury, however slight it might be.

Martial Uncle Xuansha noticed the blood and telepathically inquired, startled, “Junior Brother, are you alright?”

Xuanwang wiped the blood away and snorted coldly. “That traitorous disciple must have used some trickery. My Blood Qi is surging! I underestimated him with that punch!”

“Don’t let him find out about this. We can’t let him get cocky!”

Meanwhile, hidden in the mist, Li Yan remained unaware of this. He mistakenly believed his punch had lacked sufficient power.

Li Yan stroked his chin thoughtfully. “Did I miscalculate?”

“Su Mo, give me more blood. A lot more.”

Without hesitation, Corpse Puppet Su Mo began forcing out her Blood Qi.

Visibly, the mass of crimson energy flowed into Li Yan’s shadow.

After the Blood Feeding, Li Yan’s shadow shimmered with golden light, its sinister nature now radiating a righteous glow.

“Go!”

Having absorbed even more blood, Li Yan formed a hand seal, manipulating his shadow to attack Xuanwang.

The old Daoist Xuanwang, who had been barely holding his ground, sensed something approaching him through the dense mist.

“Brace yourselves! That traitorous disciple is back!”

“Li Yan, if you dare show your face, this old ghost will ensure you never leave this place alive!” Xuanwang roared, oblivious to the true nature of the impending threat.

Suddenly, a colossal Dharma Idol erupted from the ground. Its terrifyingly defined muscles coiled as it unleashed a devastating punch toward Xuanwang like a cannonball.

Before Xuanwang could utter another word, the Golden Body Dharma Idol’s fist slammed down with the thunderous roar of heavy artillery.

Sensing the terrifying gale-force wind, Old Ghost Xuanwang’s eyes widened in horror. He frantically crossed his arms to shield himself.

Boom!

The punch sent Old Ghost Xuanwang hurtling backward hundreds of paces. He couldn’t restrain himself and spat out a mouthful of blood.

Under the astonished gazes of the crowd, the old ghost was sent flying through the mist, vanishing into its depths with a single blow.

“Master?!”

“Junior Brother Xuanwang!”

Xuansha and the others had never imagined the Golden Body Dharma Idol could be so devastatingly powerful.

The airborne Xuanwang tumbled across the ground several times before coming to a stop, his Daoist robe completely covered in dust.

The Old Daoist’s hair clasp tumbled off, his gray hair cascading down in disarray, leaving him covered in dust and blood, a pathetic figure.

Blood dripped from his chin, staining the chest of his Daoist robe crimson.

“You… cough, cough!”

Old Ghost Xuanwang couldn’t even finish his sentence. Violent coughing racked his body, and he spat out mouthfuls of blood.

Hidden in the shadows, Li Yan watched the scene unfold, finally understanding.

“So, the old man was just barely holding on during that first Blood Feeding.”

Staring at the outcome before him, Li Yan was incredulous.

That single punch had caused Su Mo to bleed profusely, allowing her shadow to absorb a massive amount of Yin Blood. How could a single blow from a shadow-enhanced strike leave an Old Daoist at the peak of the Blood Shifting Realm in such a battered state?

Snapping out of his shock, Li Yan eagerly asked, “Is there any blood left?”

Beside him, Corpse Puppet Su Mo patted her small belly and shook her head, uttering a single word: “Hungry.”

Hungry?

Li Yan understood. Su Mo, as a Corpse Puppet, meant she had exhausted too much blood and needed to replenish her Spirit Liquid.

Li Yan realized that with enough Yin Blood, they could use the Blood Shadow Art to utterly obliterate Xuanwang!

“Let’s go! We need to head deeper into Broken Sword Valley. There’s no shortage of Rotting Heart Flowers and Yin Spirit Water there!”

Li Yan grabbed Su Mo’s hand, ready to lead her to a feast.

It had to be said, the Yin Blood produced from the corpses of Blood Pill Realm cultivators was incredibly potent.

If only he had more, Li Yan could have slaughtered Xuanwang and his companion with the Blood Shadow Art long ago.

His immediate priority was to satiate Su Mo, ensuring she generated enough Yin Blood. He had already devised a way to turn the tables on the Old Daoist, and Li Yan wouldn’t let this opportunity slip through his fingers.

He needed to act swiftly! Otherwise, the Old Daoist might escape Broken Sword Valley, and Li Yan would lose his best chance to kill him.

As Li Yan began gathering medicinal herbs to replenish Corpse Puppet Su Mo’s blood, the injured Xuanwang grew increasingly fearful.

“Senior Brother, we must withdraw from Broken Sword Valley immediately. I have a terrible premonition.”

Xuansha frowned deeply. “Just how many treasures did your disciple stumble upon in this valley?”

“Enough! Preserving our lives takes precedence. Let’s retreat.”

The two Old Daoists and their disciples prepared to depart.

Suddenly, a strange wind swept through the valley, its bone-chilling cold striking them head-on. As the gale intensified, the mist shrouding Broken Sword Valley was gradually being blown inward.

“Hmm?!”

“The mist is clearing?”

Xuanwang’s eyes lit up at the sight. He slapped his thigh and cackled maniacally. “Heaven is on my side! The frigid winds of Frigid Valley have actually reached here!”

“The mist is about to dissipate! All disciples, prepare yourselves!”
