The reason Cheng Pang did not let Zhou Wei join the spring outing was that next week’s outing marked an important turning point in the emotional development between Xu Lin and Zhou Wei.

The class was organizing a spring outing next week, and Qiu Yu did not sign up.

Xu Lin and Zhou Wei went. The class camped in tents on the mountain. Class monitor Xu Lin told Zhou Wei to pack things instead of just sitting there, but Zhou Wei completely ignored her. In the afternoon, a sudden downpour came, and Xu Lin went to borrow raincoats from villagers halfway up the mountain, but she did not return for a long time.

Zhou Wei went out to look for her and happened to meet Xu Lin carrying raincoats back.

Unexpectedly, the ground was slippery from the rain. Xu Lin fell, and when Zhou Wei reached out to pull her, he was accidentally dragged down with her. The two of them fell into a puddle, their clothes completely soaked. Later, the two of them came back drenched like drowned rats. Zhou Wei’s tent was close to Xu Lin’s, and with the electric light inside, Xu Lin’s figure, while changing clothes in the tent, was projected clearly. From then on, Zhou Wei often recalled that image, and his adolescent sexual awakening began.

This was an important emotional turning point between Zhou Wei and Xu Lin.

In fact, this kind of plot may be considered cliché, but it still feels moving when you read it.

Anyway, Cheng Pang felt that a woman’s faintly revealed skin and the silhouette of changing clothes in a tent were highly enticing scenes for men, and since Xu Lin’s character was also likable, it made his heart itch back then.

At that point in the story, many young readers still liked Zhou Wei. Who would have thought he would later turn so bad?

Sure enough, when they returned to the classroom, there was an A4 sheet posted next to the blackboard announcing the spring outing.

The life committee member began asking one by one who would attend. Unexpectedly, Qiu Yu shook his head and said he would not go.

Cheng Pang quickly went up to the life committee member and said, “He’s going.”

Life committee member: “?”

Qiu Yu: “?”

Cheng Pang: “I’ll persuade him. You just write his name down.”

After the life committee member left, Cheng Pang looked at Qiu Yu with his bling-bling eyes, glancing left, glancing right, over and over.

For the first time, Qiu Yu realized that Cheng Pang’s eyes were exceptionally bright, as if hiding many things.

He asked, “What is it?”

Cheng Pang: “How can you not join such an important group activity? Don’t you have any collective honor?”

Qiu Yu: “I didn’t know you were such a person who cared about collective honor.”

Cheng Pang: “I always have been. Obviously, I am a broad-minded person who puts collective honor above all.”

Qiu Yu: “……”

Qiu Yu: “I have no interest in such things.”

Cheng Pang put his hand on his shoulder, “Qiu Yu, are we brothers? If we are brothers, then come with me to play Greedy Wolf Moon—no, I mean, come camping together.”

Qiu Yu found it strange. “You want me to go that badly?”

Cheng Pang naturally said, “Of course.”

Qiu Yu: “Why?”

Cheng Pang: “Because… we are friends. I think joining this would benefit you.”

Facing his enthusiastic smile, Qiu Yu nodded and, only after a minute, said, “Alright.”

But why is he treating me so well? Qiu Yu thought to himself.

Cheng Pang immediately grinned from ear to ear, “Really?”

Qiu Yu: “Really.”

Cheng Pang stood up. “Good, it’s settled. No backing out!”

Qiu Yu smiled.

He… has a somewhat cute personality.

After settling things with Qiu Yu, Cheng Pang went home after class and rummaged through his old clothes.

As for wearing women’s clothes, he had experience.

Hehe, didn’t expect that, did you?

Back in sophomore year, his college roommate Ji You had coaxed him into wearing women’s clothing… At the time, they said the whole dorm would try it on, but in the end, only the honest and earnest Cheng Pang followed through.

To this day, the photos of him in women’s clothes remain in Ji You’s phone, one of the dark histories Cheng Pang most wished to destroy.

The next day, Cheng Pang first packed the clothes in his schoolbag and brought them to school, then changed into them right before class.

When he came out of the men’s bathroom, all the guys who had been peeing nearly zipped up in fright, each one staring dumbfounded at him. Cheng Pang was unafraid. He carefully examined himself in the mirror, clenched his fists, and told himself, Fighting!

With a proud, vigorous stride, he walked out.

When Cheng Pang entered the classroom doorway wearing a white blouse symbolizing purity and beauty and a pleated skirt of innocence and temptation, the entire class, including the English teacher leading morning reading, was dumbstruck.

Zhou Wei had his legs propped on the desk, head down, playing a game.

When he suddenly raised his head, he too was stunned for a moment.

He thought Cheng Pang would be sneaky and wear a neutral jacket and long pants to class, trying to muddle through.

But now, he was deliberately drawing attention.

The clothes were not new, but obviously carefully washed. The white blouse puffed slightly against his flesh, and the pleated skirt reached just to his knees. His calves beneath looked like two peeled white radishes… appearing very… well… plump.

Cheng Pang walked up to Zhou Wei and recited the novel’s famous line, “Are you satisfied with what you see?”

The whole class had only four words in their minds, You are so bold.

And they all simultaneously let out a “chicken coop warning”.

Zhou Wei’s throat couldn’t help but bob.

Seeing Zhou Wei remain silent for a long time, Cheng Pang knew he was also surprised.

He gave him some time to adjust before saying, “Remember what you promised me.”

Cheng Pang smiled.

Zhou Wei was someone who cared about face, so Cheng Pang didn’t think he’d go back on his word.

Silence meant agreement. Relieved, he walked back to his seat.

For a moment, the class still stayed frozen. Cheng Pang raised his head with a kind, calm, proper, and friendly smile, “Teacher, please continue.”

The sound of English recitation started again.

Everyone recited while silently thinking about this matter.

Liu Bai from Class 1–2… Is he starting to test the waters down a perverted path?

After morning reading ended, there were twenty minutes to eat.

Qiu Yu walked to Cheng Pang’s desk, handed over a set of his own gym clothes. “Although it’s a bit cold, you can still wear these.”

Cheng Pang smiled, “Thank you, but no need.”

Qiu Yu’s expression didn’t look good. “Did Zhou Wei force you to do this? Was it because of the seating incident?”

Cheng Pang: “No. Don’t think of Zhou Wei as such a bad guy.”

He still hoped for the protagonist and the villain to get along peacefully.

But Qiu Yu thought, Didn’t Zhou Wei already look bad enough, arrogant and domineering in school, ignoring everyone? And obviously, he hated Liu Bai and deliberately humiliated him.

Qiu Yu guessed, “You don’t dare to say it. Did he threaten you?”

Cheng Pang felt a fire of justice blazing in Qiu Yu’s eyes, and suddenly, he worried Qiu Yu would ruin things. He stood up, “Qiu Yu, come with me.”

Cheng Pang didn’t care at all that going out in this outfit would make him the focus of the whole campus; after all, Liu Bai’s features were actually quite delicate and feminine. Some students from other classes who didn’t know him might even mistake him for a chubby girl with short hair.

Behind the teaching building in the morning, the red brick wall marked the line between light and shadow. Cheng Pang led Qiu Yu all the way to the wall, then raised his hand and did a kabedon.

“……” Qiu Yu was startled for a second.

Although Cheng Pang was shorter and had to lift his head to look up at him, the large presence in front of him still carried considerable pressure.

It was the first time Qiu Yu had examined Cheng Pang so closely, face-to-face.

Beside them was the dazzling sunlight, and in the distance, teenagers were running.

Cheng Pang: “Qiu Yu, I have a dream.”

Qiu Yu quietly looked at him.

Cheng Pang: “To become a great novelist. Zhou Wei’s uncle, Hu Wei Zhi Feng, is currently the most popular author on Terminal Station. I really want to learn from him.”

Qiu Yu: “So that’s why you’re approaching Zhou Wei?”

Cheng Pang: “Exactly.”

Qiu Yu: “But about the crossdressing…”

Cheng Pang: “Ha, that was a joke.”

Qiu Yu: “I don’t think it’s a joke. Do you know what people will say about you behind your back?”

Cheng Pang: “As long as I stay calm, does it really matter? Would you think I’m a bad person, or not your friend, just because I wear women’s clothes? Why should I care what others think?”

Qiu Yu: “I don’t understand why you have to take such a roundabout route.”

Cheng Pang: “I have my own considerations. Friendship should not mean presumptuously stepping in for someone else just to satisfy yourself. It means doing your best to support and understand until the other person asks for help. Don’t worry, I’m not someone who suppresses myself. When the time comes, I won’t back down.”

This boastful spiel was something Cheng Pang had been brewing for his new book, and saying it out loud actually felt pretty good!

Behind Liu Bai was an iron fence covered in dense green vines, with two small pink flowers blooming at the tips of the railings.

His face was hidden in shadow, making his features easy to overlook, but those pitch-black eyes gleamed like a lake unmoved by wind, holding the power to unleash a storm.

Qiu Yu: “So that’s how it is?”

Cheng Pang nodded.

Qiu Yu: “You really don’t mind?”

Cheng Pang: “What’s there to mind?”

Qiu Yu gazed at Cheng Pang for a long time.

Cheng Pang: “What is it?”

Qiu Yu lowered his head and rubbed his nose, “Nothing. I just think… you’re a bit different from what I expected.”

Cheng Pang smiled and patted Qiu Yu’s arm. “Of course. I’m different from what everyone expects.”

Optimistic, strong, and kind. Qiu Yu couldn’t help but smile.

Around the corner, Zhou Wei, leaning against the wall tiles, rose slightly on his toes and tossed the basketball in his hand. Heh, so that’s how it is.
