The northern lands are thousands of miles away from here. People would starve to death before even getting there! How naive!
Moreover, Fu Qiang strongly disagreed with Chang Zhong’s opinion about going north, but he didn’t voice his objection. He just continued listening to their conversation.

“How old is this Little Northern King? Why is he called that?” Fu Manman asked.

Chang Zhong opened his mouth but didn’t know how to answer. He didn’t know either. He just knew him as the Little Northern King. How old could he be? Regardless, he was a hero if he could bring better days to the common people.

“I don’t know. I’ve never seen him either,” Chang Zhong replied honestly with a smile.

“Husband, the meat soup is ready,” Aunt Luhua said softly.

“Alright, serve the children some soup first,” Chang Zhong said to his wife. Then he addressed the Fu children, “We’ve made meat soup. Have some more if you’d like.”

“No, thank you, Uncle Chang. We just ate wolf meat,” Fu An quickly declined. He had already drunk two large bowls of specially seasoned meat soup tonight, which tasted wonderful.

Fu Manman also declined their kind offer.

Only Fu Qiang remained silent. He was currently starving, and the smell of the meat soup made him even hungrier.
He thought refusing Fu Manman’s food would make him feel better, but now it seemed he was only punishing himself.

With a cold expression, he turned and went outside.
He wanted to see if he could find anything to eat.

Fu Manman didn’t stop him when Fu Qiang left. The boy was clever; she didn’t need to worry about him.

The Chang family gathered around the fire to eat. The two young boys couldn’t wait to drink the soup and eat the meat. They had been starving on this journey, and this pot of meat soup was a heavenly delicacy to them.
Their eyes hadn’t left the iron pot since the meat started cooking.

Now that they could finally eat, their eager, happy expressions made Fu Manman find it both amusing and pitiful.

“Slow down, don’t rush. You’ll burn your mouths,” Aunt Luhua cautioned her sons. Then she picked up a bowl of soup to feed her young daughter.

Her daughter was very weak. Holding her girl in her arms, she said sadly, “San Ya, here’s some meat soup. Drink it and you’ll get better.”

“Mom, the soup smells so good!” A light appeared in San Ya’s previously dull eyes.

“Yes, San Ya, eat plenty. Once you’re full, you’ll get better!” Luhua picked out a piece of meat and put it in San Ya’s mouth.

A happy smile appeared on San Ya’s face.

Luhua blew on the soup in the bowl to cool it before feeding her daughter.

After drinking the delicious soup, San Ya felt strength returning to her body. She had been so hungry. Her tender stomach, previously damaged by rough tree bark, now felt comforted by the warm soup. Eating the meat was truly delicious and soothing.

“Mom, the soup is so good! The meat is so tasty! I wish we could eat meat every day,” San Ya said in a childish voice while chewing the meat.

Luhua smiled gently and nodded. “Okay, we’ll have it every day from now on.”

Watching the mother and daughter, seeing the happy expression on San Ya’s face as she ate the meat, Fu Manman felt happy for her.
This little girl would finally survive.

She had a space and supernatural strength. Shouldn’t she do more for these pitiful people?
The wolf meat would eventually run out. Winter was coming, and without stored food, it would be very hard for everyone to survive the cold season.

Fu Manman began to worry again.
She had to find a way to access her space.

“An An, take care of your little brother in the cave. I’m going out to see if I can find any food,” Fu Manman said, wanting to go out and find a solution.

Fu An nodded, his face full of worry. “Sis, come back quickly.”

The forest was dangerous. He was afraid his sister might encounter danger outside.

“Okay, don’t worry. Your sister is very strong,” Fu Manman whispered to Fu An.

After giving her instructions, Fu Manman went out.
