After a simple lunch, Li Nuo came into the study. Perhaps because Mo Chuan didn’t often stay here, the room felt a little empty. But compared to the space, there were quite a lot of books.

“Nice atmosphere.”

The decor was very suitable for reading, and it seemed to match Mo Chuan’s temperament quite well.

Li Nuo scanned the wall covered with bookshelves. Many of the neatly arranged books still had their plastic wrap unopened. It looked like they had only recently been purchased.

But unexpectedly, there were quite a few books on psychology, and those had already been unwrapped.

Li Nuo was a bit puzzled. Was Mo Chuan studying psychology? Or was he simply interested in the subject?

Unable to make sense of some books, he skipped over them and took down a set of crime mystery novels.

Might as well kill time with some light reading.

His gaze swept around and was drawn to the large desk near the window and the soft-looking chair.

He sat down to try it out. “Phew—This chair is comfortable.”

Sitting in that spot, he felt like he instantly exuded the aura of a boss.

Though the desk was a bit large, which made Li Nuo look slightly out of place.

Several file holders were placed on the desk, and the fountain pen showed signs of recent use.

Li Nuo guessed that Mo Chuan had probably been working here in the past few days.

As he stretched out his arm, he accidentally knocked down a paperclip. Li Nuo bent down to look for it, but such a small item was hard to locate. After searching around the side of the desk without finding it, he got up to look farther out.

When he bent down, he noticed something odd at the bottom of the bookshelf. Li Nuo reached out to touch it and saw that it was a safe. It wasn’t very big, but since it was his first time seeing one, he couldn’t help being curious and ran his fingers over the cold surface.

Footsteps sounded from outside the door, which was pushed open a moment later as Mo Chuan’s voice called out, “Baby, are you in here?”

Seeing Li Nuo sitting on the floor, his expression froze. “Why are you sitting on the ground?”

He quickly reached out to pull him up. “There’s no carpet here yet. Get up quickly, the weather’s still chilly.”

Li Nuo allowed himself to be pulled up by Mo Chuan. “Mm, I just found it by accident. I wasn’t snooping around, okay?”

Those kinds of scenes are common in stories, like stealing documents in the study and so on. Though come to think of it, he didn’t even know the safe’s combination.

Mo Chuan was amused by his comment and patted his head. “There’s nothing in there right now. It was just installed. But if you’re ever in the mood for that kind of scenario, I’m kind of looking forward to a study room roleplay—”

Before he could finish, Li Nuo punched him in the ribs.

“Ugh, baby, are you trying to murder your husband…”

Li Nuo huffed and walked past him out of the room. After a few seconds, he came back to grab the novel from the desk. “You enjoy yourself. I was planning to read here, but now I’ve completely lost the mood.”

With that, he closed the door and left.

Mo Chuan grinned as he rubbed the spot near his ribs. Getting hit meant love, and getting scolded meant affection. Besides, it didn’t hurt at all.

Once he confirmed that Li Nuo’s footsteps had moved away and faded out, Mo Chuan crouched down and stared at the safe.

In truth, he had lied to Li Nuo. There was something inside, and it was something very important, closely related to Li Nuo.

He reached out and entered the code 1221, Li Nuo’s birthday. After pressing the confirmation key, the safe opened.

Inside was a document folder.

Mo Chuan felt deeply conflicted about the contents. “Do I ignore it, or take action?”

Unable to make up his mind, he had stored it away in the safe.

He reached in, took out the folder, untied the string wrapped around it, and pulled out a few sheets of paper.

If Li Nuo were here, he would probably be shocked.

Because what was written on those pages came straight from the notes in his phone’s memo app.

After the first time they moved, that physical notebook had already been destroyed by Li Nuo, leaving only what was written on the phone.

After he woke up last time and decided he would stay for good, Li Nuo deleted all the records.

But it didn’t help that Mo Chuan had already looked at his phone before that.

……………

Back when Li Nuo was talking to the original owner in a dream, Mo Chuan, trying to figure out why he wouldn’t wake up, had Liu Ming take his phone in advance.

Li Nuo’s phone wasn’t hard to unlock. He had previously cleared out the apps himself, so there weren’t many left. That meant there wasn’t much for Mo Chuan to go through, and he quickly opened the memo app.

“Hmm, he even has the habit of keeping a diary.”

It’s common sense not to read someone else’s diary without permission. But his fingers instinctively tapped open the memo app.

The password had already been removed by Liu Ming, and Mo Chuan could access it without obstacles.

After browsing through it briefly, he began to feel something was off.

It looked like a diary written for oneself, but the more he read, the stranger it felt.

“What’s going on here?”

The diary entries in the memo were all timestamped. Mo Chuan simply scrolled to the very first entry and began reading from there.

【 Hello, Li Nuo. I hope it’s okay to call you that since we have the same name. Sorry for borrowing your body without asking, but I don’t know when you’ll be back, so I’m just going to use it for now. Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of it… 】

【 I’m confused about this whole situation too. I can’t remember anything at all. You didn’t leave me any memories. Thankfully, the phone unlocks with a fingerprint. Oh, and I changed the payment password. If you come back, don’t forget. 】

【 I’ve been discharged. Your relationships are seriously complicated. It’s making my head spin. I can’t deal with that, so I deleted everything. 】

【 By the way, I sold all your stuff. Don’t blame Li Yan when you come back. You bought too much and it took up too much space. I’m more practical, and besides, we needed the money. 】

【 Work is pretty tough. I don’t think I’ve done anything like this before. I can’t remember… 】

【 Met a nice store manager. Gave me a big red envelope when the part-time job ended. 】

【 The surgery… I’m a bit worried. I’m scared of pain. 】

【 The recovery period is really hard to get through. 】

【 …… 】

【 Zhang Wanhui seems important to you, but I don’t know him. Can we really have a proper conversation? 】

【 Li Yuzhi is a terrible person! 】

【 And you still call him ‘Dad’? I couldn’t say it, no matter what. 】

【 Be good to Li Yan, please. 】

【 …… 】

【 They’ve sent me to the Songshan Villa. There’s no internet here, so I’ll stop writing for now. The scenery is beautiful though. I’ll be obedient and won’t disturb them. 】

【 Resuming entries. I kissed Brother Mo before… By the way, you know him, right? Was that your first kiss? It was mine, anyway. 】

【 I’ve started secretly dating Brother Mo. If you come back and don’t like him, just break up decisively. Don’t hurt him. 】

【 When you return, cut ties with Li Yuzhi once and for all. Hmph, I’m not giving you a chance to go back to that scumbag. 】

The diary stopped there. Thinking about it, that was just a few days before the last time Li Nuo fainted.

“Huh?”

Mo Chuan gripped the phone tightly, his brows furrowed.

He couldn’t understand what the diary was saying at all.

What did it mean that this was a world inside a novel? That he, Qin Xu, and Li Yan were the real protagonists?

He read through the diary a few more times.

“This Li Nuo… isn’t the same Li Nuo as before?”

He started to feel a headache coming on.

Writing a diary to explain one’s behavior like this… It wasn’t amnesia. It was more like a problem with the brain.

But Li Nuo had written it all with heartfelt sincerity and meticulous detail.

From the time they first met at the hospital up until recently when Li Nuo woke up again, all the events he said he had experienced were recorded.

Mo Chuan searched online for the novel that Li Nuo had mentioned but couldn’t find anything, which only made him more confused.

He sat down with his eyes closed, thinking for a while. In the end, he exported all of the diary entries and compiled them himself, then restored Li Nuo’s phone to its original state.

He had even secretly consulted a psychologist overseas. The conclusion was either a delusional disorder or an identity-related issue.

The doctor recommended bringing the patient in for an in-person evaluation.

Indeed, the pre-amnesia Li Nuo and the post-amnesia one seemed like entirely different people—the difference was too stark.

But did this really need to be treated?

If this current personality was the result, then he had already succeeded. Li Nuo liked him and even wrote in the diary asking the original Li Nuo not to hurt him if he came back.

What if meddling caused this personality to disappear?

Mo Chuan grew increasingly anxious.

If it was like this, then he was the one in the most advantageous position simply because he knew the truth.

“I’m the only one who’s seen this.”

He gradually calmed down, glanced at the phone, and didn’t take any further action.

Soon after, Li Nuo regained consciousness and said his memory had completely returned.

Fortunately, he wasn’t affected by the restored memories. In other words, he was no longer fixated on Qin Xu.

God knew how happy Mo Chuan had been when he heard that.

He could finally be sure he was in an invincible position.

So, he kept the diary entries safely stored away.

Later, when he secretly checked Li Nuo’s phone again, he discovered that the contents of the memo had been completely deleted.

Now, Mo Chuan stared gloomily at the document folder in his hands.

His mind wandered to the closeness he had shared with Li Nuo over the past few weeks.

As expected, there’s no way I can let go anymore, so…

He stuffed the folder back into the safe, planning to dispose of it another day.

Since Li Nuo never mentioned it, then it was as if nothing had ever happened.

After tidying up the study, he went downstairs to find Li Nuo.

Li Nuo was curled up on the sofa reading a book. Mo Chuan walked over and lay directly across his lap.

“Baby, you saw the greenhouse over there yesterday, right?”

“Mm,” Li Nuo put the book aside and lowered his head to meet Mo Chuan’s gaze. “But there are only a few flowers inside.”

“That’s because it’s not ready yet. Very soon, I’ll give you a greenhouse garden even more beautiful than the one at the villa.”

Loving someone is like tending to flowers.

All the more so since Li Nuo loved flowers dearly.

He wanted to give Li Nuo every flower in the world that symbolized love.

“I’ll also prepare a cozy place to rest. When it’s ready, we can read there together or something like that.”

“Mm, I’m looking forward to it.”

Li Nuo set the novel aside, gently running his fingers through Mo Chuan’s hair. Given their height difference, this was a rare gesture.

Mo Chuan took his other hand and closed his eyes, enjoying Li Nuo’s gentle touch.

As long as you stay by my side, anything is acceptable.

Whether it’s a mental illness or a true transmigration.

It doesn’t matter. I’ll accept it all.

So, stay by my side forever.
