T/N – The title “糖” (Sugar – literal meaning) is a slang term used in modern Chinese romance fiction referring to sweet, affectionate moments between characters—akin to “sweetness” or “relationship fluff.”

In the end, Li Nuo was dragged into the home theater by a certain someone overcome with jealousy.

“This place isn’t as big as the villa’s, but it’s good enough for the two of us.”

Li Nuo looked at the home theater, which could pass for a small cinema, and said nothing. He was the one enjoying it, so why overthink it?

A sofa was placed in an ideal spot in front of the screen.

“This is all I’ve added for now. If we need anything else later, I’ll buy it.”

“I think this sofa is already big enough.”

It was practically a bed. Who knew what Mo Chuan was thinking when he bought it?

“Let me see, what kind of movie do you want to watch?”

“You decide.”

Li Nuo was still not very familiar with the entertainment over here; he didn’t even know many classic films.

“Alright then, let’s watch this one. It’s a classic.”

Although it was the genre he liked, Li Nuo just couldn’t stay focused.

Noticing this, Mo Chuan asked, “You don’t like it? Should I change it?”

“It’s not that I don’t like it, no need to change.”

“But you’re not really watching. How can you say you like it?”

Li Nuo finally couldn’t take it anymore. “You’re not even watching the movie, just staring at me! And stop crowding over here!”

He was about to be pushed into the corner of the sofa!

Every time he shifted a little to the side, Mo Chuan would move right along with him.

“Watch the movie!”

He reached out and pressed his hand against Mo Chuan’s face, turning it toward the screen.

Then he suddenly wanted to pull his hand back. “Hey—”

Mo Chuan grabbed the hand on his face and kissed the palm.

Li Nuo’s hand was firmly held; he couldn’t pull it back.

The damp sensation in his palm made Li Nuo bite his lower lip. Mo Chuan’s every move was hard to get used to. He wondered if it was because he had so little experience with relationships, which made his reactions so exaggerated.

As he felt the pressure from Mo Chuan’s grip increase, Li Nuo puffed his cheeks and pushed him away.

Mo Chuan let out a muffled laugh.

Such a weak resistance made him laugh even though he tried not to.

He gently pulled Li Nuo’s hand open a little but didn’t let go, continuing to kiss his palm.

The light touch felt a little ticklish, and Li Nuo reflexively curled his fingers into a fist.

“Stop messing around. I want to watch the movie.”

Mo Chuan grinned and patted the middle seat. “Come sit here.”

“……”

“If you don’t come over, I’ll come to you.”

Li Nuo pouted and scooted to the middle, keeping one seat between them.

This time, as they watched the movie, Mo Chuan didn’t keep staring at Li Nuo. Instead, he watched the screen seriously, as if the plot had truly drawn him in.

Li Nuo gave him a sidelong glance and gradually relaxed.

When the film reached the middle, the romantic subplot started to emerge. Since the story was set during wartime, the development between the protagonists was quite rapid.

So rapid that after only a few encounters, they were already naked together.

Li Nuo felt inexplicably awkward. If he were watching alone, it wouldn’t matter. Foreign films were more open, and he could just skip it.

But someone else was here with him.

Li Nuo’s gaze shifted slightly, and without meaning to, he glanced toward Mo Chuan—only for their eyes to meet.

Thinking that looking away would seem more unnatural, Li Nuo simply kept looking.

As a result, Mo Chuan moved a little, leaning in closer.

Li Nuo’s scalp tingled instantly; it was too late to dodge, and he was pressed against the back of the sofa.

“…You’re kind of heavy…”

“I’m not even putting my full weight on you.”

Li Nuo was at a loss and had no choice but to divert his attention and look at the screen.

“I want to watch the movie.”

“I am watching—a movie of my own.”

Mo Chuan’s double entendre left Li Nuo speechless. He could only push against him to make him get up.

But his strength was useless. Instead, Mo Chuan grabbed his hand.

“What should I do? I want to kiss you.”

“…Is that something you ask out loud?”

“Can’t I?”

Mo Chuan raised an eyebrow.

“Really can’t?”

Li Nuo’s face gradually turned red under his gaze.

With his fair skin, the blush was especially obvious.

Mo Chuan brushed against his ear, whispering, “So say yes, hmm?”

Though his voice was soft, it sounded louder than the noisy movie.

Li Nuo rubbed his ear, his face flushing, and wrapped his arms around Mo Chuan’s neck, muttering, “Just kiss me if you want. Aren’t we a couple?”

Mo Chuan chuckled softly, “Yes, but I don’t want to do anything you don’t like.”

“…It’s not like I dislike it…”

Sensing this was a positive sign, Mo Chuan kissed his forehead and slowly moved downward.

Li Nuo clumsily responded to him.

He tightened his arms around Mo Chuan just a bit more.

Amid the movie’s sounds of car explosions and collapsing buildings, the two kissed with their eyes closed, hearts filled only with each other.

After a long moment, Mo Chuan slowly pulled back and kissed Li Nuo’s still-blushing cheek, whispering in his ear.

“Baby, can I go a little further?”

It happened to be a particularly intense action scene in the movie, and the volume was high, but Li Nuo still heard the words clearly.

“What else do you want to do?”

“Just let me borrow your hand for a bit.”

Li Nuo’s heartbeat, which had just started to calm, quickened again. Flustered, he hesitated but still agreed.

His hand was guided downward, touching something.

Mo Chuan buried his face into Li Nuo’s shoulder.

Time seemed to blur into something distant. Only Mo Chuan’s breathing remained vividly clear.

Li Nuo could hear it grow more rapid as time passed, and his body grew tense.

Yet even then, the man still didn’t stop talking.

“Baby, even your neck is red.”

“Don’t close your eyes.”

“Look at me. You’re really not going to look?”

“……”

“……”

Eventually, Mo Chuan’s body relaxed, and his breathing steadied.

Li Nuo wanted to push him away to go wash his hands, but Mo Chuan hugged him tightly and wouldn’t let go.

“Just take another shower and change your clothes afterward.”

Li Nuo was too embarrassed to lift his head, quietly complaining that his hand was sore.

Mo Chuan massaged his wrist while teasing, “I only came once.”

Li Nuo: “……”

How many more times do you want to come?!

The other party looked even more delighted. “You’re blushing this much even without seeing anything. How will you survive in the future?”

Li Nuo could no longer stand his teasing. “I’m going to wash my hands!”

Watching his back as he stormed off in shame and frustration, Mo Chuan smiled like a fox.

In the bathroom, Li Nuo carefully washed his hands several times, splashing cold water on his still-reddened face. Only after he had calmed down did he dry his hands and face.

As he lifted his hand, he finally noticed the alert from his watch.

Covering his face in frustration, he muttered, “If I died because of this, it would be way too embarrassing.”

……………

After hearing that Mo Chuan had taken a day off, Li Yan furiously slammed his keyboard, looking like he might explode and smash the entire computer the next second.

The same could be said for the person inside the office.

When Secretary Yang went in to report in the morning, he didn’t even dare to lift his head.

Furthermore, the atmosphere in the car on the way home last night had been like walking on thin ice.

Secretary Yang sat trembling in the passenger seat, afraid Li Yan might drive the car straight into a ditch.

Spare me. Let’s not even talk about last night. He’s still radiating cold air. I don’t want to stay in this kind of work environment for even one more second.

Secretly complaining in his heart, Secretary Yang pushed up his glasses and cautiously suggested, “Would you like a cup of coffee first? The cafeteria has some now.”

He didn’t dare say this to the person inside the office, but he could still reason with the one across from him.

“…Fine, I suppose I do need a coffee. Sorry.”

“There’s nothing to apologize for. Go ahead.”

Li Yan let out a sigh and stood up from his seat.

“I’ll bring you a cup when I come back.”

He went to the cafeteria, picked up two iced coffees, and headed to the rooftop garden. The gloomy weather made his mood even worse.

The rainy season was coming.

He hadn’t spent much time with his brother to begin with, and it had already been hard enough accepting their relationship. But now they were even living together.

Li Yan bit the ice cube in his mouth with a loud crack.

He had thought that once Li Nuo started dating, he might naturally drift apart from his brother, but now that the day had come, he found he just couldn’t accept it.

But his brother was firmly set on living separately, leaving Li Yan completely at a loss.

Frustrated, he took a gulp of coffee. The bitterness spread through his mouth, just like his current mood.

Even if he wanted to go over tomorrow during the weekend, Mo Chuan would probably stop him at the door. Not to mention, he had just promised his brother yesterday that he would live well on his own and ended up with insomnia that very night.

Sigh… I’ll talk to him later and ask if I can visit.

Still feeling gloomy, he picked up the coffee meant for Secretary Yang and returned to the office.

Of course, he wasn’t the only one in a bad mood.

Setting aside the document he was reading, Qin Xu found himself unable to concentrate at all.

So… he had been a step too late after all.

A look of distress appeared on his face. He had made up his mind to act, only to be indirectly told that he was already out of the running.

It was a hard truth to swallow.

And judging by the situation, he had been out for quite some time now.

That brat Mo Chuan really moves fast.

Did it all happen after I came back from the villa?

A few days ago, Mo Chuan suddenly came over saying he wanted to transfer Li Yan’s debt onto himself, and once again requested a new position.

Out of trust in his longtime friend, Qin Xu didn’t think much of it. He gave him a more relaxed role and transferred a fair amount of shares.

The past couple of days had been spent assisting Mo Chuan with the handover, so he didn’t pay further attention to the matter.

Even though he knew there was no such thing as a cure for regret, there was still an unpleasant feeling in his chest. The regret and bitterness that followed were emotions he had never experienced before.

Why can’t people control their emotions? If I could, I wouldn’t be suffering like this.

Still unwilling to just give up, Qin Xu picked up his phone and sent a message:

【 I’ll come find you tomorrow. 】

A reply arrived around noon.

The moment he saw it, Qin Xu frowned. It was obvious from the tone that it wasn’t written by Li Nuo.

That guy Mo Chuan even took the phone?!

……………

“What are you doing? Give it back!”

Li Nuo stretched out his hand, trying to snatch the phone from Mo Chuan, but no matter how hard he reached, he just couldn’t get it.

Mo Chuan held Li Nuo around the waist with one arm to prevent him from bumping into anything, while holding the phone up with the other hand, typing one-handed.

“Stop replying with nonsense!”

After sending the message and confirming the other party had received it, Mo Chuan immediately deleted the entire chat thread.

“You must be hungry. Let’s go have lunch. What do you want to eat?”

“I had a late breakfast. I’m not hungry at all. What did you send?”

“Nothing important,” Mo Chuan said after confirming there was no reply from the other side. He knew Qin Xu’s break schedule. At this hour, he should’ve seen it.

Satisfied, he smiled and wrapped both arms around Li Nuo. “Even if you’re not hungry, you should still eat a little. Let’s keep it simple.”

After Li Nuo snatched the phone back from his hand, all he could see was a blank screen.

“You actually deleted everything!”

“It’s nothing. Just some meaningless conversations.”

He kissed Li Nuo gently on the cheek, acting spoiled to make him drop the matter.

Then, still holding him close, he led Li Nuo toward the dining room.

As for the message sent to Qin Xu—

Just two words:

【 Get lost. 】
