It's still ongoing with currently only 30+ chapters. The story is very lightweight. The combat isn't too detailed, but it is still enjoyable to immerse in after a stressful day of work. Gamma Team was gradually growing tired.

The surrounding scenery had turned into grasslands, and compared to when they were inside the forest, the visibility had improved slightly. However, they were still advancing along the dark night road relying only on the meager light of torch-shaped magic tools.

“Hey, hand over the money!”

“Do you not care about this guy’s life?”

The enemies attacking them were not particularly strong, but there were times when non-combatants were taken hostage, so they could not let their guard down.

It was an exploration that kept their nerves on edge.

There was a rustling sound from the grass.

“Another pervert, perhaps?”

Kachua readied herself, but what rolled out onto the road with a scream of『Kyaa』was a woman of suitable age.

“Please help me! I was attacked by some strange man!”

The woman pleaded for help, looking desperate.

The button at her chest was gone, and the shoulder of her clothes was torn. It seemed she had barely escaped an assault.

“Fuhehe, wait up!”

What appeared was a molester man.

Battle Start!

Having safely defeated the molester man, the woman they rescued said,『Thank you so much…』to Gamma Team at the same time that the moon, which had been hidden by clouds until then, illuminated the surroundings.

“The moon’s out.”

“A full moon.”

“Oh, how beautiful.”

Enchanted by the moon, Gamma Team took their eyes off the woman for just an instant — and in that moment, she had completely vanished.

Kachua and the others obtained a bonus for rescuing a non-combatant!

The moon was full, and its silvery light brightly illuminated the night sky.

The road became much easier to walk on, and Kachua and the others were able to proceed forward with peace of mind.

However, Og’s condition seemed a little strange.

“You okay?”

Rick asked, worriedly calling out to Og.

Og looked a bit unwell. Even in battle, his movements had lost their sharpness.

“Yeah, I’m fine. It’s just… I feel a little weird.” He said.

Gamma Team advanced smoothly.

They encountered monsters several times and had to fight, but thanks to the full moon, they could clearly see the monsters.

Just as the first『Watch for sudden crossings!』sign had warned, children and women — human, rabbit, raccoon, and fox — would occasionally jump out onto the road, but they managed to avoid attacking them by mistake.

Before long, the night road led them to a gently sloping mountain.

“I’ve taken this road before. Once we get this far, we can relax.”

Bernhardt told everyone.

According to Bernhardt, the mountain itself was like a staircase leading to the next floor, and if they climbed all the way to the summit, they could advance to the next level.

Hearing that, Kachua and the others felt relieved.

“So we can finally get through this place.”

But just then, there was another sound coming from the thicket.

Kachua wondered,『Is it a monster?』but what leapt out was a lamb.

“Baa.”

“Oh, how cute.”

Their hearts were warmed by the adorable sight, but in the next moment, Kachua gasped.

“Looks delicious…”

After muttering that, Og dashed forward like a bullet, heading straight for the lamb.

Og raised the claw weapon attached to his hand.

He was going to attack the lamb!

“Og! No!”

Rick hurriedly chased after Og and grabbed him from behind.

“…!”

Og shook Rick off and tried to attack again, but—

“Good! Well stopped, Rick!”

Bernhardt caught up to the two of them and delivered a hand strike to Og’s neck.

“【Blade Strike Fist!】”

Bernhardt’s hand strike landed perfectly, and Og lost consciousness.

“Og-kun!”

Kachua called out in surprise.

“He’s just unconscious. No need to worry. Let’s have him sleep for a while.”

Bernhardt took a blanket from his My Magic Bag and wrapped Og up like a cocoon.

Then Bernhardt hoisted Og onto his shoulder.

“Let’s go.”

At some point, the lamb had disappeared.

Og had almost attacked the lamb, but Rick had stopped him at the very last moment.

Because of that, it seemed there was no penalty for attacking a non-combatant.

Under the full moon that brightly illuminated the night sky, Kachua and the others safely passed through the forty-sixth floor and ascended to the next level.

***

When they reached the forty-seventh floor, Bernhardt looked for a safe place and released Og’s restraints.

“Hey, wake up.”

He lightly slapped the cheek of the unconscious Og, who groaned, “Ugh…” and quickly opened his eyes.

Og came to his senses and immediately asked everyone in Gamma Team, “What about that lamb?”

“It’s fine, it’s safe,”

Kachua told him, and Og let out a big sigh of relief.

“Thank goodness…”

“But what on earth happened to you? Suddenly lunging at a lamb like that…”

In response to Rick’s question, Og weakly shook his head.

“I don’t really understand it myself.”

Ever since entering the forty-sixth floor, Og had felt somehow strange.

“It’s like… my mood was unsettled, I can’t explain it well, but it felt like I was getting excited, like my nerves were on edge — it was a weird feeling.”

At first, it had just been a vague sense of discomfort, but as they went further, it gradually grew stronger, and when the full moon, which had been hidden behind the clouds, finally appeared, it reached its peak.

“I just… couldn’t help but want to eat the animals that were jumping out in front of us…”

Indeed, most of what jumped out onto the road were animal children rather than humans.

Even so, Og had managed to hold himself back the entire time, but when he saw the lamb, he finally lost control and went to attack.

“I really don’t understand why I did something like that…”

Og said this and held his head in his hands.

Bernhardt spoke to the troubled Og.

“It’s Lunatic.”

“Huh? The same thing as that wolf beastman Og-kun fought?”

Lunatic was the destructive impulse that wolf beastmen were said to always have on the night of a full moon.

A wolf beastman named Sirius had gone mad with bloodlust under a full moon and attacked Og’s village.

“No way…”

Og’s shoulders slumped and he looked terribly dejected.

It seemed he was shocked that he had acted in the same way as Sirius, who had hurt them.

“I… I don’t know what I should do anymore…”

Hearing Og’s helpless murmur, Ann spoke up.

“Then obviously, you’ve got to find the『Ring of the New Moon』, right?”

“The『Ring of the New Moon』…”

It was a magic ring said to be made by dwarves, as mentioned before in the magic book Supreme Potions – Volume II.

“If it’s the dungeon informant you can summon with the 『Secret Whistle to Call the Informant』, they should definitely know where the dwarves are!”

Rick encouraged Og.

“Yeah, definitely,” Laura nodded.

“That’s right. We just need a little more monster points, so let’s summon the informant and ask,”

Kachua added.

“Everyone…”

Og looked at the team and asked them with resolve,

“Do none of you think I’m scary or disgusting?”

“I don’t think that at all.”

“Yeah.”

“You’ve been doing really well.”

Rick, Laura and Ann all said this, and Bernhardt nodded as well.

“Lunatic is a wolf beastman’s instinct. To some extent, you should accept that it can’t be helped.”

“But I might have killed that lamb if things had gone a little differently…”

“But you didn’t kill it, Og-kun.”

Kachua said this.

“That’s only because Rick and Bernhardt-san stopped me.”

In response to Og’s words, Kachua nodded.

“That’s true, but Og-kun, you have companions, so don’t try to carry it all by yourself. Ah, even though I haven’t been that helpful.”

“That’s not true!”

“Kachua’s right. We’re a team, so we back each other up.”

Ann said, and then added,

“Yeah… I… I’m going to work hard on my diet…”

Ann said with a slightly gloomy face, making her resolve.

They had decided to ask the informant how to meet the dwarves.

Which meant Ann would have to lose weight on her own.

“I’ll help you, Ann.”

“Yeah.”

Kachua and Laura were already getting tired of soy milk cookies but until they reached their target weight, they intended to stick with healthy snacks.

“Thank you…”

“Ann’s right, Og.”

Bernhardt spoke up as well.

“Each of us has goals we cannot achieve alone. That’s why the whole team must cooperate. If we do that, surely our wishes will come true.”

“Bernhardt-san…”

In the end, Bernhardt wrapped things up nicely.

And finally—

“We did it! Two hundred points!”

Thanks to the hard work of the stuffed-animal puppets, Kachua had achieved 200 Monster Points!

Now they could summon the informant.
