It's still ongoing with currently only 30+ chapters. The story is very lightweight. The combat isn't too detailed, but it is still enjoyable to immerse in after a stressful day of work. “So, you guys were also trying to make the Supreme Status Ailment Removal Potion, huh?”

Ann groaned.

No wonder the items she and Jessica were searching for overlapped.

“Um, what do you mean by not wanting to let your daughter marry the Third Prince?”

Kachua asked Garfa.

Marriage to a prince is something any woman would dream of.

Even for the Garfa Company, it seemed like an ideal match they couldn’t have wished for more, so why would Garfa want to refuse it?

Garfa’s face twisted as if he had bitten into something bitter.

“Forgive me for speaking so frankly in front of His Highness, but there’s no way I can give my daughter to such a despicable man. The Third Prince proposed marriage only after learning that my daughter had turned into a werewolf. He’s trying to take advantage of our weakness. No matter how many times we reject him, he keeps persistently proposing.”

He spat out harshly.

Garfa firmly stated that the Third Prince’s goal was the wealth of the Garfa Company.

Beastmen and werewolves are not treated favorably in this country.

By saying he would『marry her anyway』the Third Prince clearly intends to exploit the Garfa Company.

“I am nothing more than a mere merchant. I cannot be forceful when dealing with royalty. That’s why, no matter what, my daughter must meet the Third Prince once in her original form.”

Saying that, Garfa bowed his head toward the Gamma Team.

“Please, I beg of you. Would you be willing to give me the Acorn Chalice? If I have the Acorn Chalice, I will have all the ingredients needed to create the Supreme Status Ailment Removal Potion.”

For a while, silence fell over the place, and the one who broke that silence was Og.

“Um, everyone, is it okay if we give this person the Acorn Chalice?”

“Well, I’m fine with it, but are you sure about that? You might be able to make the potion, you know.”

Besides, the only way to get the Acorn Chalice is by winning the Acorn Mountain Sumo Tournament, which is held only once a year.

No matter how fast they tried, the earliest they could get it would be next year.

“Yes. I want to remove my own werewolf transformation, too. That’s why I’d like help getting the Acorn Chalice and the other ingredients, but right now I think helping this person’s daughter return to her original form should come first.”

“Hey, hold on a sec” Rick interrupted.

“Mr. Garfa, um, may I ask a question?”

“What is it?”

“That Supreme Status Ailment Removal Potion—how many doses can you make from it? It’s not just one, right? Couldn’t we, like, split it in half or something…?”

Rick offered a fairly constructive idea.

However, Garfa slowly shook his head.

“I’ve heard that the amount you can make at once is ten doses. But I can’t give even one to any of you. I’d like to use them all on our side.”

“Then there’s no point in talking!” Rick said angrily.

“Greedy, aren’t you? What do you think, Og? You can refuse, you know” Ann goaded him.

“Besides, the Acorn Chalice was originally a gift from Bernhardt-san to Ann” said Kachua.

Bernhardt’s eyes sparkled as he nodded.

“It’s a token of my love for you, Ann.”

“Yeah, I couldn’t care less” Ann replied curtly.

“Why do you want all ten potions?” Laura asked.

It was an uncharacteristic request for a merchant who should be well-versed in negotiation.

As a fellow merchant, Garfa should have known that such a reason wouldn’t convince them.

Garfa had a reason why he absolutely needed all ten potions.

“When we were attacked by beastmen, the handmaiden who was with my daughter and the female knights assigned to her—ten women in total—were turned into werewolves. The male guards were also taken but I want to save the women first. That is why I cannot give you even one dose.”

Each ingredient had been hard to gather.

There was no telling when they’d be able to make the potion again.

That’s exactly why Garfa couldn’t afford to give up even a single step.

“Then please, go ahead and use all ten. It’s hard enough for a man, but if a woman becomes a werewolf, she wouldn’t even be able to go outside. That must be really hard” said Og with concern, likely because of the hardships he himself endured.

“But Og-kun, what about your older sister’s share?”

At Kachua’s question, Og nodded.

“Yes. We’ve lived like a family in a small village. If only one of us returned to normal, I think my sister would feel terrible about it. If we go back, it has to be all of us, together.”

Garfa raised his face and looked at Og.

Og’s entire body was wrapped tightly in bandages.

And Garfa knew exactly what he was hiding beneath those bandages.

“Do you have an older sister?”

“Y-yes.”

Og answered nervously.

“Is there any way you could help us? This guy’s older sister is in trouble because she’s stuck in her werewolf form, and she’s supposed to meet her boyfriend’s parents in a month.”

Rick said this.

“That’s right. Nadja-san said she’d just pretend it’s because wolf-ear headbands are in fashion.”

“Can something like that really fool them?”

Hearing the story, even Bernhardt was surprised.

“That’s what you think too, right?”

“Fuu…” The Gamma Team couldn’t help but feel very worried for Nadja.

“So that’s what this is about.”

Garfa muttered quietly.

When he lifted his head, Garfa said,

“Leave this matter concerning your sister to me, Garfa.”

To their surprise, he offered his help.

“Eh, you can really do something about it?”

“U-um, my sister also knows that lying to his parents isn’t good. So, please, just… don’t force anything on them.”

Og blurted out his worry without thinking.

Garfa nodded.

“I understand. I will only help your sister. I’ll do everything I can.”

***

“Here you go.”

Og took the Acorn Chalice he had received from Bernhardt and handed it to Garfa.

Garfa carefully wrapped it in the cloth he had brought with him, then bowed to everyone.

“Then, I shall give my thanks later. Thank you very much. I will never forget this favor.”

With the Acorn Chalice in hand, Garfa left the room.

“Fuu. Good grief.”

Seeing Garfa off, everyone let out a sigh.

It had been a tiring night.

As the name of the Garfa Hotel suggested, Garfa was the owner of this hotel.

Using his authority as the owner, Garfa had arranged hotel rooms for everyone.

That night, they all decided to stay at the hotel together.

“It’s gotten kind of late, should we call it a night?”

“Yes.”

“Then, since the children are already asleep, Bern, you give this room to Kachua and move to another one.”

“That’s true. There are things the two of them need to talk about alone, so let’s move to a different room.”

Bernhardt smiled warmly at Ann, but Ann replied coldly.

“Sleeping in separate rooms. You and I have already broken up. More importantly, what are you even doing here in Loa?”

“To see you.”

“Wow, so passionate” Kachua murmured from the side, her heart racing, but Ann only looked at Bernhardt with an exasperated expression.

“You’re not someone with that much free time, are you?”

“If it’s for you, I’m prepared to throw away my position at any time. But being here has been approved by my father, the king. So don’t worry.”

“Hmph.” Ann sounded uninterested.

“But if you really weren’t interested, you wouldn’t bother asking, would you?”

“Yeah.”

Kachua and Laura, being girls, quietly listened in while whispering to each other.

Bernhardt’s expression grew serious as he muttered,

“I came here searching for a certain something that disappeared from the royal palace. If I don’t find it, something terrible will happen…!”
