Kachua’s son, Ed, has been wanting a “Slime Hat,” which is all the rage at his school. But the “Slime Hat” is a rare drop item from defeating intermediate slimes, and buying one at the market would cost a whopping 10,000 gold.

Kachua’s daily wage as a porter is about 5,000 gold for five hours of work.

That’s two days’ worth of porter wages. And even if she could somehow manage to buy one for Ed, she thought, Barbara would definitely want one too. With that thought, Kachua couldn’t easily justify the purchase.

For the record, Kachua doesn’t work as a porter every day. She works about three or four times a week, and after six months, she’s worked about 100 days in total.

Later, after finishing the busy household chores and cleaning up after dinner, Kachua sat at the dining table, looking at the “Dungeon Flyer.”

She had porter work scheduled for tomorrow.

And tomorrow was the 4th, Four-Leaf Clover Day, or Herb Day.

The designated point where herbs could be collected was on the fourth floor of the dungeon.

The fourth floor was still in the lower levels of the dungeon, so even beginner porters could enter. Kachua had been there many times before. She also knew the location of the designated point—a flower field where adventurers often stopped to collect herbs.

Tomorrow, Kachua planned to go there.

Since a porter’s job is to carry luggage, if no adventurers collected herbs in the flower field, she wouldn’t be able to either. But if the adventurers stopped there, she could probably pick a little for herself.

“Still, I wonder if it’ll really be there.”

The herb that could be collected at the fourth-floor point was called “Muscle Grass,” an herb that enhanced physical strength. It was supposed to be found only on the tenth floor or lower. If it was really there…

Kachua felt a bit excited.

“A flyer? I don’t see anything…”

“What?” Kachua blinked in surprise. Even though she could clearly see it, Ed said otherwise.

Sensing something, Ed looked a little worried. “…Mother?”

“It’s nothing, come on, it’s time for your bath.”

Kachua stood up, setting the flyer down, and hurried Ed and Barbara toward the bathroom.

She kept her small doubts to herself.

The next day, Kachua completed her daily mission as part of her household chores and got another probiotic drink. She tucked it into her coin purse and, after dropping Barbara off at daycare, rushed to the Adventurers’ Guild.

The adventurers who hired Kachua today were regulars who sometimes requested her. They were a friendly group of both men and women around her age.

“We’re looking for herbs today,” said one of the female adventurers. Kachua was overjoyed.

The group immediately headed into the dungeon.

Once on the fourth floor, the adventurers began gathering herbs in the flower field.

“Excuse me.”

“What is it, Kachua?”

“Would it be alright if I gathered a little herb too?”

“Of course, feel free.”

“But don’t wander off too far, Kachua,” warned one of the men.

“Thank you!”

Grateful, Kachua moved a little distance away, staying within the adventurers’ sight. She took out the flyer from her coin purse and searched for the collection point.

“There it is! ‘Muscle Grass’!”

Kachua had found the herb!
