After the discussion ended, Kachua and her group headed toward the dungeon.

The ingredients listed in the recipe were all found on the upper floors of the dungeon. They decided to press on with their exploration and gather the necessary materials.

The ingredients for the Supreme Status Ailment Cure Potion were:

  • Rotting Soil, dropped by Zombies on the 12th floor.
  • Unlucky Honey, dropped by Giant Bees on the 14th floor.
  • A Hundred-Year Turtle Shell from the 15th floor.
  • Nightmare Mane from the 18th floor.

Some of these materials made them question, “Is it really okay to mix that into a drink?” But they had no choice but to collect them. Even though these ingredients were for an ultimate potion, they weren’t entirely out of reach for Kachua and her group, making it a good reason to prioritize this exploration.

However, the last ingredient seemed like a real challenge.

“The toughest one looks like the Acorn Cup on the 99th floor…”

Kachua’s party had only just reached the 10th floor. The 99th floor felt like an impossibly long way to go for them. Also, the item had a strangely pastoral name. Was the ‘acorn’ in the Acorn Cup really referring to that kind of acorn?

Information about the lower floors was freely available from the Adventurers’ Guild, so anyone who joined the Guild could access it. However, as you ascended, such information became rarer. In fact, there was almost no information about the 99th floor. Information about the upper floors was considered valuable property by the parties that had reached them, and revealing it often required paying hefty fees.

One day, Kachua’s group might also need information about the 99th floor. But for now, they needed to focus on obtaining the other ingredients.

Before that, though…

“Do you mind if we stop by the goddess statue on the first floor?” Kachua asked her companions.

“Sure.”

“What for?”

“I burned myself a little while cooking. I thought I’d have the goddess statue heal me.”

Laura could have healed her with magic, but since the goddess statue was nearby, Kachua decided to save resources and rely on the statue. The whole party followed her to the shrine where the statue stood.

“We’re heading out again today. Please watch over us, dear goddess,” Kachua prayed as she usually did.

Suddenly, a status board popped up with a ping.

—Would you like to warp? Just say ‘warp’ and you can transfer with ease!—

Kachua screamed in surprise. “Huh? Warp!?”

“Kachua-san, what’s wrong?”

In that instant, the group was teleported.

“What… what just happened?” Even Ann, who was usually calm, was startled.

“Oh, that was surprising. It felt like some kind of teleportation magic.”

“Did we just experience an earthquake?” They looked around the room.

At first glance, it looked like the same shrine on the first floor, but something felt different.

“Isn’t this the 10th floor?”

When they peeked outside, they saw that, without their queen ant, the Moe-Moe Iron Ants were nowhere to be found. In their place, giant moles, the native monsters of the 10th floor, were expanding their territory.

Indeed, it seemed to be the shrine of the goddess statue on the 10th floor.

“Kachua, can you use teleportation magic?”

Kachua shook her head vigorously. “Of course not!”

“Then… was it because of your [Housewife] skill?”

“…Probably.”

Upon reflection, Kachua recalled something and took out her monster point card. She noticed that it now had 40 points stamped on it.

On the card, it read: Warp with the goddess statue as a gift! She had completely forgotten, but apparently, reaching 40 points on the monster point card unlocked a new feature.

—A convenient new function for your adventures! Now, traveling is a breeze with the ability to… wa—

The rest had been “warp.”

“So, this ‘Goddess Statue Warp’ doesn’t let you teleport just anywhere, but lets you warp between statues located on different floors?”

Teleportation magic allowed the caster to warp to a chosen location, though there were restrictions, such as having been to the location before. Kachua’s warp, however, was limited to goddess statues, which was slightly inconvenient, but it didn’t require any magic costs. It wasn’t a perfect system, but it was still incredibly useful. Thanks to it, picking up Barbara wouldn’t be an issue anymore.

It was the perfect skill for a housewife, designed to help with little inconveniences.

“Thank you so much!” Kachua expressed her gratitude to the goddess statue.

***

Kachua and her party continued upward and smoothly reached the 12th floor. However, that’s where they hit a snag. They couldn’t find the ‘Rotting Soil’ dropped by the zombies, a key ingredient for the Supreme Status Ailment Cure Potion.

The 12th floor was a dark cemetery area, and zombies kept appearing in droves. They defeated them one after another, but the ‘Rotting Soil,’ which should have been an easy drop from the zombies, simply wasn’t dropping.

“What’s going on?”

“I wonder why.”

Zombies are weak to holy elements, and they can’t enter spaces consecrated with holy water, such as those blessed by the church. While the group had been killing zombies for just two days, they had already leveled up during this graveyard grind.

Zombies tend to call for reinforcements during battle. If you leave one barely alive, it will continuously summon more. Although they have average attack power and very slow movement, they are known for their high health.

Their experience points are nothing special, but since they appear frequently and are easy to handle, they make for great experience farming.

Zombies are weak against holy and fire magic. When Laura’s holy magic leveled up to level two, allowing her to consecrate their weapons, the battles became even easier.

While Kachua and Laura watched from a safe, consecrated zone, Rick’s frustrated shout echoed in the background, “No drop! Nothing’s dropping!”

Occasionally, they heard Org complain, “Damn, it’s just mulch again.”

They weren’t completely without drops. The zombies had two common drop items: ‘Rotting Soil’ and ‘Mulch.’ Both were regular drop items, but the mulch was slightly rarer. ‘Rotting Soil’ was useless and worth nothing if sold to a shop, but ‘Mulch’ was useful for farming and could be sold to farmers.

While ‘Mulch’ sold for about 1,000 gold per 10 liters, Kachua’s level had increased to 10. Now that she was a mid-level porter, she had access to a medium magic bag from the guild, which could hold twenty times more than her previous one, allowing her to bring back more items she previously couldn’t carry.

“Huh?” Kachua suddenly rubbed her eyes while watching the fight.

“What’s wrong, Kachua?”

“My eyes feel strange, like there’s something stuck in them…”

For some reason, the sensation only occurred when she was looking at her party members.

“Wait… no, that’s not it!” Kachua realized something.

It wasn’t the party she was seeing.

Whenever there was a zombie in her line of sight, a small status board appeared. This was a secondary effect of the sub-skill ‘Cooking: Ingredient Appraisal,’ which she had used during the Queen Hie-Hie Iron Ant fight.

“Laure, we’ve got a problem!”

“What is it?”

“You consecrated everyone’s weapons, right?”

“Yeah, because it gives them a 1.5x damage boost.”

“That’s it!” Kachua excitedly jumped to her feet.

“Huh?”

“When you attack zombies with a consecrated weapon, their status changes to ‘Clean Zombie!’”

If you defeat them in that state, the dropped items become ‘Clean Rotting Soil’ and ‘Clean Mulch.’

“Oh, I see!”

After the holy effects wore off, they killed the zombies again.

Finally, Kachua’s group obtained the much-needed ‘Rotting Soil!’
