“Wh-what?” Though surprised at first, she quickly regained her usual composure. “Hmph, but you’re still only E-rank. We’re D-rank now! Isn’t that impressive?”

Kachua genuinely praised them, “That’s amazing, both of you.”

Lucy, seeming pleased by the praise, smiled smugly. “I discovered I have the skill for teleportation magic. I’m going to be a great mage! And Saza has the ‘Swordsman’ skill.”

“Swordsman” isn’t actually a profession but a skill that grants abilities suited to that role. There are other skills like “Thief” and “Mage,” and possessing these can lead to greater proficiency in the respective profession. Both Lucy and Saza were showing potential for future greatness.

“Don’t go around telling people you used to be in the same team as us. It’d be a nuisance. That’s all I have to say,” Lucy finished, flipping her robe dramatically and walking off.

“What was that about?” Laura fumed.

“Not like we’re gonna brag about them,” Rick muttered irritably.

“I don’t care,” Org said coolly, to which Ann nodded in agreement.

“Haha, I guess so.”

“They became D-rank so fast… that’s pretty impressive,” Kachua remarked, genuinely impressed.

Ann whispered to her, “They probably joined a C-rank party.”

“Huh?”

“I told you earlier about loopholes, right? If you join a higher-ranked party, you automatically get a rank-up. It’s a system to prevent skilled adventurers from being stuck due to rank restrictions.”

“Isn’t that cheating?”

“No, it’s perfectly legitimate. But… I think taking the time to build a solid foundation is important. Relying on shortcuts to climb ranks doesn’t always mean you can handle the pressure.”

“I think I understand,” Kachua agreed.

“Having ambition is a good thing. Why not aim to hit C-rank before they do?”

“Can we really do that?” Rick seemed hesitant.

“It won’t be easy, but this team can handle it,” Ann declared confidently, then added, “As for me, I want to lose some weight.”

Ann, muscular but also a bit plump, was an impressive figure—a “chubby but strong” type.

“…You want to lose weight?”

“Yeah, that’s why I started adventuring again, but at my age, it’s harder to shed fat,” she sighed. “If it doesn’t work out, I’ll find a Night Primrose on the 25th floor and make a potion to become beautiful instead. So, my goal is to reach the 25th floor.”

“I saw so many sick people when I visited the temple. I want to be able to heal more people.”

“That’s a noble goal.”

“I support that.”

“What about you, Kachua?” Rick asked.

“Me? Well… I do want to save up for my family, but other than that… Oh!” A thought struck her. “I want to find and return the Healing Stone to the goddess statue on the 10th floor.”

“That’s a great goal!”

Of course, strengthening themselves to reach higher floors was a common goal for the entire team. To prepare for the 10th floor, where fire-type monsters like the Moe-Moe Iron Ants lived, Rick equipped an ice dagger, and Org acquired ice claws.
