Bai Qiuye stood on top of an abandoned bus. Behind her was a glowing door, just like the portals she had seen in a game.

Scattered around her feet were the props she had brought out of the copy.

But not all of them were here. For example, the sheets she had used to store the props was gone, and so were the candles she had placed there.

She thought that these items probably weren’t special props and had collapsed along with the copy.

However, a few of the little girl’s candies had somehow been mixed in. There were also the peace talismans she had drawn herself, the round-headed villain, and the prayer beads she had made.

It was dawn when she left the copy, but when she came out, it was already late at night. Bai Qiuye could only rely on the light from the door to see her surroundings.

She shouted cautiously, “Where’s everyone? Is there anyone who can help me? ”

But the only response she got was the distorted echo.

Bai Qiuye discovered that the city was desolate, as if it had already died.

However, the walls of the surrounding skyscrapers were covered in grapevine plants. They were so dense that they seemed to have given the buildings a green coat.

Abandoned cars were parked on the streets, but without exception, they were also covered in green plants.

Their existence seemed to have abolished the confinement of industry and technology, bringing new life to the city.

In the entire city, only Bai Qiuye had light behind her, like an arrogant lamp. Even though the surroundings were dark, she still seemed out of place.

Suddenly, a loud noise cut across the sky, and the entire city began to tremble.

The pouring rain broke the stuffy heat in the air, and the solidified molecules collapsed. Unable to win, they joined the increasingly heavy rain, and Bai Qiuye was instantly drenched.

She was about to jump into the bus to hide from the rain when she suddenly saw a flash of light in the distance like a ghost.

The light was very, very far away from her. It flickered at the edge of the city through the layers of buildings, as if it was transmitting some kind of mysterious signal.

Bai Qiuye thought that someone was there, so she shouted again, “Can you hear me over there?”

This time, her voice was immediately drowned out by the pouring rain, and even the echo was scattered by the rain.

Bai Qiuye used her hand to shield her eyes from the rain. She waited for a while, but she didn’t see the light again.

A chill rose from the bottom of her heart. She didn’t dare to stay in the rain that deprived her of body heat. She pushed all the props scattered around her feet off the roof of the bus and climbed in through the open window of the bus.

There was a thick damp air in the bus, but surprisingly, there was no dust.

However, the moss was like a bully, occupying all that Bai Qiuye could see.

She removed all the seat covers in the bus and brushed off the moss and mushrooms growing on them. She barely managed to make four small bags that could be carried on her back.

Bai Qiuye rummaged through the driver’s seat. She didn’t have much hope at first, but to her surprise, she found a flashlight and a rusty lighter.

She looked at the darkness outside the window, her heart filled with anxiety.

“Have all the cities been destroyed?”

The flashlight flickered a few times before it lit up. Bai Qiuye hurriedly used the light to continue looting.

There was no food.

There was no water either.

There were also abandoned luggage in the bus, but without exception, there were no necessities for survival.

“This place doesn’t look like it’s been looted, but there’s nothing to eat. Isn’t that too much of a coincidence?” Bai Qiuye thought.

Because she used the administrator upgrade package, System 09 entered an information flow state, so she didn’t receive any new..

As for the other software on the terminal, Bai Qiuye looked through them one by one. None of them were still usable.

The last message on her phone stopped at her mother saying that she had sent mushroom sauce to school.

Bai Qiuye could only make a guess based on what she saw. After the great change 13 years ago, the city was abandoned.

The way people lived must be very different from before. Entering copies and risking their lives must have become a daily routine.

Bai Qiuye took the four bags and climbed out of the bus. After putting away all the props that were thrown down from the roof, she returned to the bus and sat down on the seat that she had just cleaned up.

The rain was still heavy, and she still had things to do.

Bai Qiuye took out the broken golden boy statue.

[Abandoned Golden Boy (Empty): Originally a magical artifact that trapped resentful souls, with the magical effect of imprisoning souls and consciousness. The resentful souls in it are temporarily missing.]

At this moment, a nearly transparent shadow suddenly appeared in front of Bai Qiuye’s feet.

The three-headed ghost infant’s soul was originally on the verge of dissipating.

But it used the last of its will to stubbornly attach itself to Bai Qiuye’s hair and followed her out of the dungeon.

This city seemed to have a mysterious power. It gradually recovered from the size of a fingernail to the size of a ping pong ball.

It could sense that other than itself, there were countless other ghosts like it in this city.

They were restless and ready to kill each other. The weakest one would definitely become the sacrifice.

This was a dark forest where the strong preyed on the weak.

The golden boy knew that if it wanted to fight its way out, it had to rely on Bai Qiuye.

It had already accepted reality. It had already seen Bai Qiuye’s strength in that house.

Suddenly, it felt that something was invading its previous residence.

It was like a piece of consciousness, but it was also very different.

In the copy, when its soul was weakened to the limit, it also felt this “consciousness”.

For a moment, it thought that it almost fused with this “consciousness”.

But reality proved that they could fuse.

Otherwise, this “consciousness” couldn’t have entered the statue just like that.

The golden boy saw Bai Qiuye holding the broken statue and thinking hard.

It immediately understood that Bai Qiuye had taken advantage of a loophole and wanted to let her “consciousness” take over.

But the statue was the foundation of its existence and couldn’t be taken away.

It had to let Bai Qiuye know its sincerity.

Bai Qiuye suddenly realized that there was something round moving in front of her feet.

She squinted and saw a soul the size of a ping pong ball bowing to her. It looked very funny.

Bai Qiuye saw that it had three heads the size of a red date.

Oh no!

There were three ghost babies imprisoned in the golden boy!

She picked up the knife and raised it in front of her. “Stay away from me!”

The golden boy didn’t retreat. Instead, it crawled forward.

Bai Qiuye was shocked. She wouldn’t be cursed outside the copy, right?

Mo Jie and the others didn’t come out with her. Maybe the copy collapsed and they weren’t in the same area as her.

If she was cursed, wouldn’t she be incurable?!!!

The three heads of the golden boy opened their mouths, but the sound they made was a baby’s laughter.

Bai Qiuye screamed, “Don’t kill me — Ah?”

Her voice stopped abruptly. The moss in front of her opened and closed automatically, forming a row of words.

[I’m here to surrender.]

Bai Qiuye: “Surrender?”

[This artifact needs to accept other souls or consciousnesses if it wants to contain them. Unless we can find the mage who made the artifact.]

Bai Qiuye remembered Mo Jie’s story about the golden boy.

When it was still a boss, it did contain a malicious spirit. That malicious spirit was the main consciousness, and the three ghost babies were just support.

That malicious spirit was probably accepted by the ghost babies.

She wanted to use the golden boy statue to absorb the System 09’s information flow. The artifact did change, but it seemed to be blocked halfway.

She couldn’t find the mage who made the artifact, but she would be worried if she kept 09 around.

Bai Qiuye asked, “How are you going to surrender?”

[I can return to the artifact and devour new consciousnesses.]

This seemed to be a way to settle things once and for all.

But Bai Qiuye couldn’t figure out why the golden boy suddenly showed goodwill.

In the copy, golden boy had tried to curse her, but in the end, he was hurt by her Newbie Protection Mechanism.

She had been on the brink of death back then!

Feeling her indifference, the golden boy’s three heads suddenly burst into tears.

[I’m going to be gone soon!!!]

Bai Qiuye covered her ears. “Don’t cry. Write properly! Although you look like babies, I know exactly how old you are. Don’t try to fool me with your cuteness.”

A row of ellipses appeared on the moss.

[I can recognize you as my master.]

In any case, Bai Qiuye was so powerful that even the ghosts in the dark didn’t dare to wander around under her nose. They didn’t lose anything by acknowledging her as their master.

Bai Qiuye didn’t waver in the slightest, and rather cautiously said, “First, tell me one of your fatal weaknesses.”

The three heads looked at each other, thinking that Bai Qiuye was holding bags of special props and was still worried that it would backfire on her. She was simply cautious to the point of nitpicking.

It cursed in its heart countless times.

[The person who made this artifact left a weakness on my navel that restricts me.]

[As long as you pierce me with an iron needle stained with chicken blood, I will be easily blown away.]

Bai Qiuye thought for a moment.

She thought about it, the golden boy must be very weak right now and didn’t have the ability to harm her at all.

Otherwise, it would have taken action long ago. There was no need to act rashly and alert the enemy.

Also, there were only twenty minutes left before System 09 broke away from the information stream.

“Okay.”

The golden boy was instantly overjoyed.

[Thank you, Master =3=]

Bai Qiuye looked at the emoji on the moss.

This ghost was quite fashionable.

She saw the golden boy’s ping-pong-sized soul return to the statue.

The surface of the statue blurred for a moment. When she picked it up again, the crack had already closed, and the statue became heavy again.

Bai Qiuye found that the red triangle symbol on her terminal had disappeared. Even the administrator upgrade prompt had been cleared.

A voice sounded in her ear.
