Hello, you can call me Tofs, this is my second work at Wook's Teahouse, if you find any mistakes please let me know in the comments section, and if you like this novel please leave a review on Novel Updates

In the corner of the village, a huge boulder was suspended from a tree by a net. A faint flame burned beneath the thick rope.

The rope suddenly snapped under the ravages of the flame.

A huge black shadow fell instantly and hit the crude lever with a bang.

The other end that Chen Chen had pushed down suddenly rose, and a shadow flashed across the sky.

An earth-shattering sound was heard above the Ancestral Hall. A huge object, moving so fast that it could not be seen clearly, broke through the roof of the Ancestral Hall and crashed violently into the memorial tablets.

A stone Buddha fell from the sky and shattered the floor.

The stone Buddha had a kind face. The carvings on its face were rusty, but it was faintly covered with an auspicious aura.

The paper figurines that had been driven to the centre were pushed to the ground by the stone Buddha. They became two-dimensional planes and were torn apart.

Du Youfu’s legs were also pushed under the Stone Buddha. He was terrified of the Stone Buddha. He let out a scream, and the smell of burning paper money came out of his body.

A trace of ruthlessness flashed in Du Youfu’s eyes. He tore off his legs and ran with all her might towards the secret room.

The unpressed paper figurines were controlled by Du Youfu to block the door.

Seeing that the door to the secret room was about to close, Du Youfu bit the word “Longevity” on the wall.

At the same time, the blood lotus in front of the altar table shone brightly.

“Oh no!”

Mo Jie and Liu He said at the same time. They were about to leap at Du Youfu to stop him.

Suddenly, a deafening noise came from outside. It was as if thousands of soldiers and horses were galloping from far away.

The ground began to shake. Fine dust fell from the beams. The rumbling sound approached in an instant, accompanied by a dozen low, trembling cow cries.

A cow crossed the threshold of the Ancestors Hall and charged like a madman into the memorial tablets.

It was followed by a second, a third and a fourth cow.

These cows had peace talismans tied to their horns. Mahogany branches hung from their necks. Two large sacks of glutinous rice hung from their bodies. Their tails were tied with prayer beads and colourful pixiu tassels.

Mo Jie and the other two gazed dazedly at everything in front of them. The cows whistled past them, bringing with them a wind mixed with the smell of mud.

One of the cows broke through the two paper figurines in front of it and trapped Du Youfu between its horns.

The three of them looked at each other.

?

Was this part of your plan, Bai Qiuye?

How many more surprises do you have that we don’t know about?

As they looked at the stone Buddha half buried in the ground, they felt a lingering fear.

If they hadn’t followed Bai Qiuye’s instructions, they would have ended up like those paper figurines.

He didn’t know what Bai Qiuye had done to cause such a scene.

A single cow was unable to stop Du Youfu, and he rushed out. At that moment, however, there were still more than a dozen cows scurrying around the house.

Cows were psychic creatures, and ghosts were afraid of their eyes.

Du Youfu had to hide from both the Stone Buddha and the cow, he had nowhere to run, so he tried to leave through the door.

He didn’t expect the courtyard to be filled with sticky rice, and the ground was filled with roosters pecking at the rice.

The rooster, sensing the righteous energy of heaven and earth, crowed at sunrise and was feared by evil spirits.

One or two of them were useless, but if there was a group, even an evil spirit like Du Youfu would have to take a detour.

Du Youfu’s path was blocked, and its green neck stretched further and further. It opened its mouth to bite the roof beam, and its body hung in the air, trying to escape through the ceiling that had been shattered by the stone Buddha.

In the chaos, a beautiful figure dressed in white mourning clothes came through the door and stood behind Du Youfu.

“Cackle cackle cackle!”

The rooster crowed. It was five o’clock in the morning.

The light of dawn broke through the clouds and finally drove away the darkness. It streamed through the cracked roof into the cold and gloomy Ancestors Hall.

The paper figurines that fell to the floor burned one by one and finally turned to ashes that fell on the four people in the house.

Du He stood behind Du Youfu and sliced through his body with a boning knife.

The handle of her knife was densely engraved with talismans, and she spun the knife in a circle.

A puff of black smoke erupted from Du Youfu’s back, and the head that had been biting the roof fell to the ground with a bang, red like a smashed watermelon.

Bai Qiuye’s expression froze at that moment.

She looked at Du He, and aside from being dazed, there was only confusion on her face.

Her thirteen years.

Her four thousand seven hundred and forty-five days.

Her more than one hundred steps.

How could the boss be defeated in just the first step!!!

Damn it.

What a joke!!!

Mo Jie was ecstatic, but when he saw Bai Qiuye’s staggering appearance, he asked worriedly, “Are you hurt anywhere?”

After all, the commotion she had just caused was too much, so it was normal for her to be shocked.

Bai Qiuye’s voice trembled as she pointed at Widow Du, her hand shaking like a sieve. “She, she finished off Du Youfu?”

Mo Jie replied, “Yes.”

Bai Qiuye’s vision turned black and her fist fell to her chest. Her expression was numb, as if she had lost her life’s goal, and the light in her eyes gradually disappeared. “Then what about my next ninety-nine steps?”

Mo Jie thought he had heard wrong. “Hm?”

Bai Qiuye couldn’t believe this result, so she pushed Mo Jie away, stumbled in front of Du He, and asked shakily, “Du Youfu, is he really dead?”

Du He coldly said, “Yes.”

Although her expression was as cold as usual, her eyes were filled with joy for the first time.

Bai Qiuye’s heart shook.

That was impossible! She still had ninety-nine steps that she hadn’t implemented yet!

Thinking of the ninety-nine steps, Bai Qiuye suddenly felt sad.

Beating her chest and stamping her feet couldn’t reduce the anger in her heart.

Fu Yao was puzzled. “She doesn’t look too happy.”

Mo Jie even forgot to roll his eyes. “Not only is she not happy, I feel like she’s going to bang her head against the wall in the next second.”

Liu He stood up with the help of the broken coffin, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and asked Widow Du, “When exactly did Du Youfu die?”

Du He said, “Twenty years ago, he wanted to harm me, and I killed him.”

Liu He curiously asked, “Then why did you let us come?”

Du He said, “In the past twenty years, every Yue Laan Pen Festival, those things that harmed others and themselves would appear again. Only under the sun can we kill them, but I couldn’t wait for this opportunity. ”

Du He’s eyes carried a trace of a smile. “Thank you for creating this opportunity for me.”

The morning light fell on her eyelashes, and fine lines appeared on her delicate skin at a speed visible to the naked eye.

When the angle of the light expanded, Du He’s appearance had changed from twenty years old to forty years old.

Bai Qiuye recovered from her grief and looked at Du He in shock. “Your face.”

“The person whose lifespan has been borrowed will be trapped in the paper figurine until the borrowed lifespan is exhausted, and then their soul will scatter. If the paper figurine is damaged, they will completely disappear.” Du He said.

“Du Youfu is dead, and this lifespan that I accidentally obtained will also be taken away.”

As she spoke, the paper figurines in the hall were completely burned to ashes.

Mo Jie and Liu He’s bodies became light, and their limbs that had almost lost control returned to normal.

Fu Yao, who was the most eye-catching in her paper form, leaned against the wall and spat out a pile of black paper. She touched her own body, and joy filled her eyes.

She happily said, “The curse is actually broken.”

Du He said, “They reap the consequences and trapped themselves. They can’t live, and they can’t die. You were used by them as scapegoats.”

As she spoke, she pulled out the boning knife, and Du Youfu’s filthy body that was neither human nor paper turned into pure white powder, scattering on the ground.

“I’m going back to make breakfast.” Du He said, “You can come and eat.”

Her voice was much gentler, and she turned to leave the Ancestral hall after speaking.

All that was left in the room were pieces of paper, burned ashes, and rampaging cows and cackling chickens.

Bai Qiuye suddenly thought of something, and turned pale with fright. She hurriedly ran out of the Ancestral hall, and desperately stepped on the fuse on the ground.

The second step of her plan, explosives.

In the face of absolute firepower, fear could not withstand a single blow.

Before she entered the Ancestral hall, she laid out the explosives that she had meticulously developed around the hall. Although it was a very crude explosive, she had been accumulating it from the moment she thought of the second step.

When the fuse was touched, the ashes would hit her face.

Whether it was Du Youfu or Zhang Youfu, the coffin would be blown open.

If Du Youfu was still standing, then she still had ninety-seven steps to take, one step at a time.

Unfortunately, there were no ifs. Bai Qiuye stepped on the fuse and couldn’t help but feel sad.

The other three looked at Chen Chen’s unrecognizable corpse for a moment, and then followed Bai Qiuye out of the Ancestral hall and into the warm morning light.

Looking at Bai Qiuye, who seemed to be stomping her feet not far away, Mo Jie suddenly felt a lot more relaxed.

What Bai Qiuye did, and what the god who didn’t show up did, seemed to have become less important.

What was important was that he survived.

Mo Jie chuckled. “So there’s no such thing as twenty years ago or twenty years later. It’s just that a malicious ghost can’t let go of his obsession.”

Liu He stretched. “Sigh, I didn’t sleep last night. Although this task didn’t go well, but considering that it ended in one night, it is still barely acceptable.”

Fu Yao snorted. “Ha, if it weren’t for me, Du Youfu wouldn’t have waited for you to enter the Ancestral hall.”

Bai Qiuye heard their conversation and suddenly said, “Finished? But our work isn’t finished.”

The other three were stunned and turned on their terminals at the same time.

The progress of the second task was still marked as 0/2.

The joyful atmosphere of surviving a disaster suddenly stopped.

Mo Jie: “…”

Liu He: “…”

Fu Yao: “…”

Mo Jie asked, “Is this a bug?”

Liu He said in disbelief, “How can we continue to complete the task when the task has been solved by the employer? This doesn’t make sense, it doesn’t make sense! ”

Bai Qiuye was already used to bugs. At this moment, she said calmly, “You’re talking about science in this kind of place. Aren’t you being unreasonable?”

Liu He held his head and sighed. “Then what should we do? Can we just ask Du He to give us a score?”

Mo Jie said, “You’re thinking too much. To put it bluntly, the employer is the NPC in the game. Have you ever seen a bug in the game that can be fixed by a few words from the NPC?”

Bai Qiuye thought that Mo Jie’s words made sense.

If a few words could fix it, she would have left long ago.

Bai Qiuye said, “Just wait until the third day. There will be a result.”

At most, they would return to the beginning of the task on the third night.

She had been like this for the past thirteen years.

Although she looked calm on the surface, she was panicking inside.

This time, I brought out my thirteen-year-old plan, but I only took the first step.

It can’t be that we can’t get out, right?

It can’t be, it can’t be!

At this moment, she discovered that with the four of them as the center, there seemed to be a hidden cyclone. It set off visible waves of air, layer upon layer, and fiercely pushed down all the buildings on the side of the road.

The scene in front of the four of them also collapsed like the buildings.
