After Transmigrating into a Professional Bootlicker, I Messed Up - Chapter 80.2
Extra Story 4 Part 2 (Continued)
It didn’t seem like a big deal.
But Lin Luo’s heart was pounding. There was no way this could be mere coincidence. Ji Chi’an had been able to hear others’ thoughts through his right ear, and this young Ji Chi’an was deaf in that same ear. They had to be the same person, just somehow split across two different timelines.
She had a strong feeling his memories would come back, just as hers did after her journey to another world. She suspected that once the Ji Chi’an from that world passed away, his consciousness would merge with the Ji Chi’an standing before her.
Her intuition was rarely wrong, and all these clues made her believe he was a gift from fate, returned to her side.
She tightened her grip on his arm. “I have amnesia. You have to take me home with you.”
Ji Chi’an: “?”
The woman looked beautiful, somewhat familiar even, and her name rang a bell. But something seemed…off? Was she trying to pull a fast one on him?
He pulled his arm away and said coolly, “Miss, if you have amnesia, I can take you to the hospital or help you contact your family. If you’re trying to mess with me, don’t bother. I’m busy and need to go to school. And if you’re trying to scam me, you should know that I grew up an orphan, entirely supported by government subsidies and part-time jobs. That purse of yours could fund my college education, so I really have nothing for you to gain.”
This life… Was Ji Chi’an really this unfortunate? In their last life, his greatest asset was his wealth, and now he was broke?
This broke?
Well, at least he still had his second best asset…
Lin Luo looked up at him and asked, “Do I look like I’m interested in your money?”
“Then what do you want?”
Ji Chi’an’s patience was clearly running out.
Lin Luo answered boldly, “I’m obviously after your looks.”
Ji Chi’an: “…”
His face darkened, and he turned to leave. But Lin Luo grabbed his arm again. “Classmate, I’m guessing you’re too busy with school and work to watch TV, so let me tell you—I’m a famous star, super pretty, great body, and super rich!”
Ji Chi’an thought: This woman’s got both a narcissistic and a delusional streak.
“So, would you consider being my boyfriend?” Lin Luo continued. “I can support your living expenses, your studies abroad, or even help you start your own business. Whatever you want, I can offer it. It’s a great deal.”
Lin Luo blinked her eyes.
She had to try. Even if it were a one-in-a-thousand chance, she had to see if he was really her Ji Chi’an.
Any version of Ji Chi’an would do, as long as it was him.
This version of Ji Chi’an looked about three or four years younger than her, tall, handsome, and attending Capital University. Surely, there’d be no shortage of girls chasing after him. She couldn’t just let him get swept away by the distractions of this world.
She wanted to shield him from romantic entanglements and help him live a little less painfully.
The way he took care of her in their previous life, she was more than willing to reciprocate. She trusted that with his abilities, he could achieve great success from scratch.
She expected him to be furious, but to her surprise, he let out a chuckle, smirking. “I didn’t realize my appearance was worth so much. What exactly do you need me to do? Or… do you have any specific… preferences?”
Oh, he was truly mad now. Lin Luo quickly clarified, “No, no! No hand-holding, no kissing, no hugging, none of that. Just…”
“Just what?”
“Just let me look at you from time to time.”
“What is it you actually want?” Ji Chi’an, clearly losing his patience, asked in an exasperated tone.
Lin Luo blinked innocently, “I told you, I’m here for your looks. Is it wrong to just want to look at you?”
Ji Chi’an clenched his teeth and managed to squeeze out, “Sorry, I’m really not interested.”
“Oh.”
Disappointed, Lin Luo lowered her head. “I’m sorry for bothering you.”
Then she turned and walked away.
Ji Chi’an watched her slender figure disappear into the rain, but instead of feeling relieved, his chest tightened uncomfortably. Just as he was about to turn back, he saw her collapse to the ground.
Listening to the quick footsteps coming her way, Lin Luo, lying on the wet ground with her eyes shut, couldn’t help but smirk.
In the last life, he shamelessly used tricks to win her over. This time, she’d return the favor in kind.
