After Transmigrating into a Professional Bootlicker, I Messed Up - Chapter 76.2
Extra Story 1 (Continued)
Lin Luo suddenly couldn’t help but imagine a scene from The Overbearing CEO and His Sweet Secretary involving steamy office antics, and her face flushed deep red as she struggled to push him away. “Ji Chi’an, have some shame! Stop fooling around!”
Seeing her face turn bright red, Ji Chi’an knew she was lost in some amusing thought. He slyly turned off his earpiece, activating his mind-reading ability just in time to catch her little fantasy. Smirking, he leaned close and whispered, “What exactly do you think I’m trying to do? I think the position you’re imagining right now sounds quite nice. Don’t you?”
Ahhhh! Ji Chi’an, this jerk! He was using his mind-reading power! She was mortified! She had agreed that he could use this power for an hour each month to help them avoid misunderstandings, but she’d never imagined he’d waste it on something like this!
She cursed herself for ever reading The Overbearing CEO and His Sweet Secretary.
Covering her face with both hands, she tried to disappear. Ji Chi’an gently peeled her hands away, his expression amused. “I think you should read more books like that.”
“Ahhhh! Ji Chi’an, you shameless man!”
Unable to take it any longer, Lin Luo lunged to yank off his earpiece. But she was so forceful that she knocked the office chair back, and both of them, along with the chair, fell over. Ji Chi’an quickly wrapped his arms around her, taking the brunt of the fall himself while Lin Luo landed safely in his arms.
Ji Chi’an winced.
Panicking, Lin Luo hurriedly checked him over. “Are you okay? Did you hit anything? Does anything hurt?”
“It hurts,” he replied, his voice unusually soft.
Ji Chi’an never admitted to being in pain, so Lin Luo was instantly flustered and fumbled for her phone to call 911. Ji Chi’an grabbed her hand and placed it over his chest, frowning slightly. “You hurt my heart by calling me shameless.”
Lin Luo gritted her teeth in exasperation. This man! Now he was even using corny pickup lines! If she wasn’t worried about his injury, she’d probably have smacked him for being such a serious-looking yet shameless rogue.
But knowing that any attempt to “fight” him would just turn into an “R-rated scuffle,” she could only glare at him, helplessly.
This man really was perfect and infuriating in equal measure.
Still concerned that he might actually be hurt, she reached out to gently massage his waist, her head resting obediently on his chest.
Holding her close, Ji Chi’an was satisfied. He’d kissed her, teased her, and she was being extra sweet, so he stroked her hair and said gently, “You know I get jealous when you act close to other men, right?”
Lin Luo was well aware. Despite his age, Ji Chi’an’s heart was as possessive as a young man’s. Although he fully supported her career and never caused trouble, whenever there was a rumor about her, he’d adopt his overbearing CEO persona and demand her attention.
Then again, if she imagined another woman wearing Ji Chi’an’s clothes, she’d probably have a fit. So from a couple’s perspective, she understood his feelings. Softening, she massaged his waist more earnestly and murmured, “That’s why I stopped taking romance roles; now I only accept serious dramas.”
“Good. No getting cozy outside of work either.”
“Alright, alright, no cozying up.” Lin Luo soothed him like a child. “Can we get up now? Doesn’t lying on the floor make you uncomfortable?”
“Nope.” To prove his point, Ji Chi’an wrapped one arm around her waist and placed the other behind his head, closing his eyes with a content smile. “The carpet’s soft, and so are you. I’m very comfortable.”
“Get up! This is your office. Can you act like a decent human?”
“Kiss me and I’ll get up.”
Immature! She wrinkled her nose at his childish demand, sighing in mock reluctance as she leaned toward him. But just as her lips neared his, she suddenly pulled back, clasped her hand over her mouth, and ran to the nearby trash can, gagging dramatically.
Ji Chi’an’s face fell as he sprang up, his playful expression turning to concern as he rushed to rub her back. “Luo Luo, what’s wrong? Should I call a doctor?”
Between dry heaves, Lin Luo shot back, “Maybe your shamelessness made me sick!”
Ji Chi’an: …
Lin Luo resumed gagging, and Ji Chi’an quickly took out his phone, calling their private doctor to come immediately. When she finished, he guided her to the couch, poured her some hot water, and placed his hand over her stomach with a serious expression. “Did you eat something bad, or are you just not getting enough rest? Where’s Fang Xi? I need her to come give me a report.”
Lin Luo tugged at his sleeve. “I’ve been eating and resting well, but for the past few mornings, I’ve felt a bit nauseous. Sour tamarind usually helps, though.” She paused, a realization slowly dawning on her.
Placing her hand over her abdomen, she looked up, stunned.
Ji Chi’an’s brows knit as he looked at her puzzled expression, not quite understanding.
“Ji Chi’an… Before I went to the U.S., didn’t you stop using protection?”
“Yes… You even agreed, saying that I’m getting older and should be ready to be a dad.”
“Right, so… you might have just given your son a very vivid show.”

Lin Luo and Ji Chi’an’s relationship banter reflects a modern twist on 打情骂俏 (dǎ qíng mà qiào), which means playful “flirting with jabs.” It’s all about teasing to show affection, and they do it perfectly! (๑˃ᴗ˂)
Did you know? In China, reading romance novels (like Lin Luo’s Overbearing CEO) is super popular, and they often feature fantasy-rich plots. Many young women love reading them to escape and indulge in over-the-top romance scenarios—like Lin Luo did here!
Ji Chi’an’s “protectiveness” aligns with a behavior called relationship vigilance. It’s when one partner becomes extra attentive or affectionate to reassert closeness—here, Ji Chi’an’s playful jealousy shows he values her deeply.
“Sour tamarind” is a common pregnancy craving in Asia, used to ease nausea. Lin Luo’s love for it is a subtle hint that there’s a “mini Ji Chi’an” on the way, adding a cute touch to the storyline!
