Ji Chi’an gestured to the group behind him. “From left to right, we have your manager, PR director, marketing director, styling director, business director, finance director, and legal advisor.”

Lin Luo looked at the group, blinking in surprise. “This is my team?”

“Correct.” Ji Chi’an smiled. “Or rather, these are the core members of your new studio.”

“My… studio?” Lin Luo hadn’t expected Ji Chi’an to set up an entire studio for her. She’d assumed he didn’t want her to pursue acting, considering how most powerful families preferred their main female family members not to be in the public eye. She’d even prepared herself to have a serious talk with him about her career, but Ji Chi’an had taken care of everything. She was a bit shocked.

Ji Chi’an noticed her expression but casually continued, “I handpicked all of them for you. The studio is funded by Jiahe Group, and everything is ready to go. You just need to sign. But remember, even though we’re husband and wife, business is business. I’ll expect a return on investment based on the profit percentage, so don’t think about slacking off.”

He then waved to the team. “Come and greet your boss.”

The entire team lined up, bowing together and saying, “Hello, Boss!”

Their loud, unified voices attracted a few curious stares from passing strangers. Feeling awkward, Lin Luo slipped her sunglasses back on and gave a polite smile. “Hello, everyone! I look forward to working with you.”

“Don’t worry, Boss. We’re committed to following you!” With that, they all bowed again.

Lin Luo’s smile froze, and she looked up at Ji Chi’an, who was holding back a laugh. He waved his hand. “All right, everyone, go back to work.”

“Understood, President Ji!” They saluted, then turned and left in military precision.

Lin Luo adjusted her sunglasses. “So, are all Jiahe employees trained like this?”

“No, I just thought since you have a soft personality, I’d set some rules for them upfront. But after this, how you manage them is up to you. After all, you’ll be responsible for any profit or loss,” Ji Chi’an replied, his tone strictly professional. He then turned to Fang Xi. “Wait here for Jiang Chen. He’ll be here soon to help you get the luggage to S.H. Apartments. Lin Luo and I will go on ahead.”

Fang Xi nodded quickly. “Got it, President Ji. Don’t worry, we’ll make sure everything arrives safely!”

She knew, of course, that the couple would want some alone time after being apart, so she was more than happy to help. She gave Ji Chi’an a knowing look, practically screaming, “We all understand!”

Ji Chi’an noticed Fang Xi’s knowing expression and chuckled. He then stepped aside to let Lin Luo go first.

But he didn’t hug her, put his arm around her waist, or even hold her hand.

Lin Luo tilted her chin, glaring at him through her sunglasses in irritation. Ji Chi’an looked back at her, puzzled, as if he had no idea why she was upset.

Lin Luo huffed and stomped off in her high heels, ignoring him. Ji Chi’an reached out to grab her arm, but then quickly let go.

Lin Luo turned around, glaring. “What?”

Ji Chi’an pointed in the opposite direction. “The parking lot is this way.”

“Oh!” Lin Luo snapped, turning on her heel and marching off in the right direction, heels clacking on the ground. Ji Chi’an pressed his lips together and followed her.

They walked side-by-side to the car. Lin Luo slid into the passenger seat, took off her sunglasses, and looked over at Ji Chi’an with a cool, displeased expression. She crossed her arms and raised her chin, clearly waiting for him to make amends but refusing to say so.

Ji Chi’an closed the door, turned to her, and asked, “Luo Luo, are you still mad at me?”

Lin Luo didn’t answer, only raising her chin higher.

“Luo Luo, I missed you.”

Lin Luo kept a straight face, fighting back a smile.

“I came back to Beijing early so that once filming wrapped, you’d have a reliable team to support you and push your career forward. You mentioned you wanted to act, and I thought this would make you happy.”

Lin Luo’s expression softened slightly.

“So, could you stop being angry with me?”

Ji Chi’an’s voice was gentle, lacking his usual coldness. When he wanted to coax her, his tone became so tender and persuasive that Lin Luo could never stay mad. This time was no exception.

She licked her lips. “Actually, I’m not that mad anymore.”

“Not that mad, but still a little mad.” Ji Chi’an chuckled, leaning over her seat back, his face close to hers, his breath warm against her neck. He placed one arm on the back of her seat, his other hand reaching across her, so close he was practically embracing her.

It looked just like the first time he’d stolen a kiss from her.

Lin Luo’s grip on her sunglasses tightened, her cheeks reddening as she felt a faint thrill of anticipation.

Then she heard a “click”—her seatbelt being pulled across her and fastened.

Before she realized what was happening, Ji Chi’an was already back in the driver’s seat, starting the car, his expression as calm as if nothing had happened. “I know you’re still mad, and that’s fine. I was in the wrong here, so you have every right to be upset. And as you requested, I’ll respect your rules—no sharing a bed, no hugging, kissing, or lifting you up. Don’t worry; your husband will be very obedient.”

🌺 Kliraz’s Insightful Corner 🌺

Ji Chi’an creating an entire team for Lin Luo is classic Chinese “power couple” culture, showing how serious he is about her success. (*≧▽≦)

Ji Chi’an’s “military style” team-building reflects his CEO psychology—he’s asserting control to ensure her smooth career path while symbolically handing her the reins. (。•̀ᴗ-)

A well-planned support team is a status symbol, signaling stability and influence. Ji’s gesture here is as much about Lin Luo’s status as her success.

So, would you be happy with Ji’s ultra-supportive approach, or would you want him to back off? (´。• ᵕ •。`)
