Handcuffs?

He Shu’s brows furrowed slightly. She had only ever seen these things on television.

This was the first time she had seen one in real life.

One end of the silver handcuff was locked to the bedrail. The other end was fastened around a pale white wrist.

Following the smooth arm up, He Shu looked again at the unfamiliar woman who had been handcuffed.

The woman was lying on her arm, her jasmine-milk-colored curls spilling over like seaweed. A few strands had slipped past the open collar of her shirt and tickled He Shu’s skin.

But He Shu had no time to scratch the itch.

The woman in her arms appeared unwell. Her breathing was rapid and shallow. Her lips had lost all color and were nearly as pale as the ball that had been forced into her mouth.

He Shu’s gaze followed the ball to the leather straps tightened around either side of the woman’s mouth. The straps were fastened so tightly to keep the gag in place that red marks were etched into her pale cheeks.

This thing… if she wasn’t mistaken, was called a gag.

A kind of, um… hard-to-explain object.

Wait.

Handcuffs.

Gag.

Bed.

A spark flashed across He Shu’s mind. These things showing up all together…

Was this… S and M? That kind of… kink?

What the hell was going on???

Why had she woken up in an unfamiliar hospital room?

And why was there a woman with some very particular tastes lying in her arms…

He Shu pulled her hand back and sat up, reaching out to push the woman.

“Hey, wake up!”

She wanted to wake her and ask what exactly was going on.

But just as she touched her, a sharp electronic voice suddenly rang out in her head.

“Vital signs detected. System auto-activating. Binding in progress. Host, please continue breathing!”

He Shu quickly held her breath, but the next second a cheerful chime sounded in her mind.

“Ding ding ding. Binding successful. Hello, Host! Welcome to the System for Saving the ‘Pit-filled’ World!”

“What the hell?!”

She wasn’t even breathing. How did she get bound?!

Before she could ask what this “System for Saving the ‘Pit-filled’ World” was, it felt like her brain had been stuffed with cotton, every strand carrying messy information. Strangely enough, her mind started reading it automatically.

One minute later, He Shu tumbled off the bed with a thud!

What the hell was this?! She had transmigrated into a novel! And it was one that had been dropped and left unfinished!

Kneeling by the bed, He Shu looked at the handcuffed woman. This was her doing?!

No, more accurately, it was the character she had transmigrated into who did it.

The one doing this S and M stuff was her!

And the woman on the bed wasn’t even willing. She had been forced into this!

The more details she received from the system, the wider He Shu’s pupils grew.

She hadn’t just become a domineering CEO with a taste for forced submission and twisted kinks. She had become a complete idiot on top of that!

The woman on the bed wasn’t the fragile, delicate flower the original character thought she was. She was a man-eating vine who could kill at any moment!

According to the system, this woman was Cen Qianyi, the top-ranked assassin in the book, with the highest bounty on her head. The novel’s main story was about a group of protagonists working together to take down the assassin organization she belonged to.

And He Shu? She was nothing more than a disposable side character introduced early in the story, the one who assaulted the villainess and was swiftly killed as a result.

Once the system told her she could speak to it mentally, He Shu immediately yelled, “Send me back! I don’t want to be in a novel! This is forced! Forced things never end well!”

The system reminded her, “Host, your death in the original world was due to overwork and induced heart failure. You have been declared dead and are awaiting cremation.”

What? She was dead?

He Shu clutched her chest, suddenly remembering that last night while working overtime on a presentation, her heart had started to hurt. She had tried to call an ambulance but lost consciousness before she could.

So she really… died like that.

Thankfully she was an orphan, otherwise someone would have had to bury their child far too young.

He Shu felt a wave of emotion but remained alert. Surely this system didn’t bring her here out of kindness. There had to be a motive.

She asked the system in her mind, “What do you want from me?”

Just now it said it was part of some pit novel rescue program. Did it want her to fill plot holes? But she didn’t know how!

Soon the system explained.

Every book, once created, automatically forms its own world. Every character in that book exists as a real person in that world.

The book’s original plot had the villainess being defeated by the protagonist in the end.

But the author dropped the story. The plot had stalled right at the moment the villainess was about to execute the protagonist.

With the author gone, the villainess smoothly eliminated the protagonist.

Even that wasn’t the big issue. Worst case, the villainess just became the new protagonist.

The real problem was Cen Qianyi. For reasons unknown, shortly after killing the main characters, she destroyed the entire world.

This resulted in too much resentment building up in the world, triggering the self-preservation system.

After hearing all this, He Shu was still confused.

“She wants to destroy the world. What do you need me for? An extra person to die with her?”

“Host, saving this world depends on you!”

He Shu’s eyes widened. “Save your damn handcuffs! Save what?! If I had that kind of ability, I wouldn’t be young and dead, waiting to be cremated!”

“Rest assured, Host. There is no cremation in this world.”

He Shu rolled her eyes. What a useless system!

“So what do you need me to do? Beg the villainess on my knees to abandon evil and turn to good? Spare the world?”

“That is not allowed. Host must not alter any fixed plot scenes. You must complete the original storyline.”

“Complete the plot?” He Shu felt like this system was brain-dead. “If I follow the plot, isn’t that just walking to my death?!”

He Shu didn’t want to waste time arguing anymore. Knowing the woman on the bed was a heartless killer with plans to destroy the world, her priority was to run.

She quickly scrambled up and rushed toward the door, ignoring the warning sounds in her mind.

But the moment she opened the door, she snapped back to the hospital bed, holding the villainess in her arms once more.

“Host, escaping the plot scene is equivalent to rejecting the system task. Everything will reset.”

He Shu sat up abruptly, clutching her chest, gasping for breath.

She had just felt like she was shattered into powder and reformed again…

The delayed pain surged in.

It was unbearable!!!

She wanted to curse the system into oblivion. This damned setup meant that every time she ran or refused the task, she would die again and start over!

Running wasn’t an option anymore. And skipping the plot wasn’t either… He Shu endured the pain and tried to negotiate.

“I want to switch characters!”

She really couldn’t walk this twisted CEO storyline. She didn’t even have that kind of fetish.

“Sorry, Host. Accounts already activated and bound cannot be changed.”

He Shu’s brain kicked into gear. “Then can I escape one more time, return to the past, and rebind? If I have to do this, I want to be the protagonist!”

The embodiment of justice. A power equal to the villainess. That was the kind of role that looked like it could truly save the world.

“Even if the system is activated, going back in time cannot unbind it.”

He Shu did not believe it. She thought the system was deliberately trapping her. Just as she opened her mouth to argue, the electronic voice let out a sigh.

“Even if unbinding were possible, there are no remaining roles available.”

“What?”

“You are the ninety-ninth host. There are ninety-nine named characters in the book. The previous ninety-eight all failed.”

He Shu’s expression darkened. This sounded even more like a scam.

So even the ones who became the protagonist had all failed. Then how was she, someone who transmigrated into a perverted character, supposed to stop the villainess?

As if the system had read her thoughts, it replied, “Host, do not underestimate yourself. You are the first one who has not asked the system for a weapon. A brave soul is the one who saves the world!”

He Shu was stunned. “You can ask for weapons?”

“You cannot.”

She rolled her eyes so hard they almost flipped out. “Then why even bring it up?!”

“Are you ready to receive the script for your character?”

He Shu replied flatly, “No.”

“It has been sent. Please read it carefully.”

He Shu: !

Text immediately appeared in her mind, formatted like a PowerPoint presentation. The system had extracted all the scenes involving He Shu from the original novel.

She barely read two lines before her entire face turned hot.

“In broad daylight, you’re showing me this?!”

This kind of mature content was something she only dared to read under the covers at night with the door locked.

Tsk tsk. She really was such a pervert.

No! She meant the original He Shu, of course!

He Shu looked around. This high-end hospital room was apparently one of her character’s favorite play spots. And the reason she could play here was because she owned the entire hospital…

So rich. And so twisted.

She even had a private villa dedicated to her “hobbies”… stocked with every kind of prop imaginable…

It was too much to take in. He Shu quickly scrolled to the end, but what caught her eye next was her death scene.

“Cen Qianyi poured corrosive fluid bit by bit, melting He Shu’s ten fingers…

Soon, some fingers were left with only half a joint. Others had just a third remaining. A few had nothing but a sliver of bone.

In those pale violet eyes, she watched as He Shu’s face twisted in agony. Cen Qianyi gave a faint smile and, with eerie calm, inserted one bone needle after another into the remnants of her fingers.

She had turned them into a unique instrument.

With a casual tap, music drifted forth. A haunting melody, woven together with He Shu’s screams, created a chilling yet beautiful song…”

“I can’t do this! I’m not doing this plot! Just send me back to be cremated already!”

The system calmly reminded her, “Cremation began just moments ago. You are currently in a box.”

He Shu: !

“Host, are you ready? Cen Qianyi’s vitals are fluctuating. She is about to wake. The first plot scene is about to begin.”

He Shu screamed in her mind, “No! I’m not ready!”

“Script has been sent. Please follow the original dialogue precisely. Not even a single word can be changed. Failing the task will reset everything.”

He Shu: !

“Countdown. Five. Four. Three. Two. One.”

He Shu’s scalp prickled. The moment she met those pale violet eyes, her entire body trembled uncontrollably, as if she had been thrown right back into that moment of torture and death.

Tears poured down her face without warning.

The alarms in her mind grew louder and louder.

“Say the line! Warning. Refusing to follow the plot is a serious violation. In three seconds, your character will be erased and the process will begin again.”

“Three.”

He Shu choked. She remembered the pain of her body shattering into dust. She never wanted to feel that again!

“Two.”

He Shu burst into sobs and, without time to think, blurted out the line just before the countdown reached one.

“Don’t think that just because you’re sick, I’ll let you go. Sob sob sob. You’re with me now. Obediently become my toy, or else… sob sob sob… I have plenty of ways to deal with you!”

As she cried and panted her way through the line, a bright red exclamation mark flashed in her mind. Then a new line of text appeared.

“Action Prompt: He Shu, seeing the woman remain unresponsive, feels humiliated. Anger rises in her chest. She gets out of bed and delivers a slap, forcing the woman’s head sharply to the side.”

He Shu: What?! I have to hit her too?!
