- Accidental Hero: The Rookie Who Outshines the Force
- Chapter 94 - “Lu Ge… So You’re into This?”
Lu Cheng crept forward silently. Once he reached the perfect distance, he sank his weight into his legs and executed a flying kick.
By the time Master Huiming turned, the sole of Lu Cheng’s shoe was already aimed at his face.
The impact hit with shocking force. Pain shot through him as his body was sent flying backward.
He collided with a metal cabinet. The iron dented slightly—just a fingernail’s thickness—but the contents inside scattered across the floor.
Lu Cheng stole a glance: bottles of lubricants, rubber bubbles, stacks of USB drives, cash, gold and silver jewelry, watches…
Huiming clutched his mouth and nose, heat spilling out as he glared furiously at the intruder.
Only to see Lu Cheng already pointing a gun at him.
The stance was textbook perfect. No doubt about it—this was the same “Hat” from before.
But… why was it just one person?
Where had he appeared from?
There was no time to ponder. Knowing he had committed unspeakable crimes, Huiming could only struggle to resist.
Assuming the police wouldn’t shoot immediately, he spun around and flicked off the light behind him.
Before Lu Cheng could even warn him to “hit the floor,” the basement plunged into darkness.
Huiming, familiar with the layout, tiptoed, lowering his steps, attempting to slip past Lu Cheng and move into a hidden passage.
In Lu Cheng’s sight, the purple light moved before him—Huiming now looked like a clown.
He slammed the replica gun in his hand forward.
Smack!
Crack!
Huiming fell flat on his face.
The modified 92 replica gun was heavy, built mostly of metal for authenticity. Unlike real firearms, which kept only the barrel, spring, and small components metal, this one was dense, sharp-edged, and brutally effective.
Huiming felt a sharp pain along his back, muscles tearing. Cold sweat poured down his forehead.
Add that earlier kick to the face… it was lethal.
This young Hat was vicious!
And… how did he hit me in complete darkness?
Damn it!
Fear and anger warred within him. Drawing a deep breath, Huiming prepared to run again.
Clack!
Lu Cheng turned on the light.
Huiming whipped around. In the warm orange glow, a black shadow came barreling toward him.
Instinctively, he sprang upright and bolted for the hidden passage.
Lu Cheng closed the distance in a flash, delivering a lightning-fast kick.
Night had fallen silent.
At the foot of Qianfo Temple, seven or eight police vehicles were parked, their red and blue lights flashing.
“Chief Chen, who reported the case?” Su Qingwu, clad in uniform, radiated authority.
Because it involved an ongoing sexual assault investigation, she was fully equipped.
Bulletproof vest, firearm, extendable baton, pepper spray—she had it all.
The other officers were similarly outfitted.
Chen Weimin had rushed straight from home, wearing casual clothes.
A sexual assault at the temple in the dead of night? Everyone was shocked.
Qianfo Temple was famous in Sanliqiao. At this hour, only monks should be inside.
Sexual assault… monks with monks?
The mental image alone gave them goosebumps.
“It was your guy who reported it,” Chen Weimin replied.
Your guy?
Su Qingwu froze for a few seconds, her cold, composed face flickering with surprise.
He reported it?
“Wasn’t he resting?” she asked, puzzled.
Chen Weimin spread his hands. “Exactly! I don’t know why he’s not resting at night and decides to check out a case at the temple?!”
At that moment, Lin Wenbin’s phone rang.
“Chief, it’s Lu Cheng!”
“Answer it.”
“Hey, Xiao Lin, are you there?”
“Yeah, just arrived at the foot of the mountain.”
“Get up here quickly. The abbot’s quarters in the back courtyard.”
With that, Lu Cheng hung up.
Chen Weimin still had many questions, but didn’t get a chance to ask. Judging by Lu Cheng’s light tone, it seemed nothing was wrong.
A sigh of relief passed through Chen Weimin—and through Su Qingwu beside him.
Without delay, the team ascended the temple steps.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The temple door rattled from heavy knocks.
Monks sleeping in the front yard put on robes, slid into cloth shoes, and opened the door.
“You…”
Startled, they found a swarm of police at the entrance.
“Police conducting an investigation!”
“Where is your abbot’s room?”
The monks froze and pointed silently in a direction.
Su Qingwu led the charge toward the back courtyard.
Clatter-clatter! Their footsteps woke the monks sleeping in the rear.
Lighting lamps, the monks opened doors and were shocked to see a large police presence.
The abbot’s room door was locked. Peering through a gap, Su Qingwu saw a square seam on the floor emitting faint yellow light.
A basement?
Chen Weimin hurried over to a monk. “Do you have a key?”
Shaking his head: “No… officer. The abbot keeps the keys.”
The old wooden door had a gear lock.
Bam!
Su Qingwu kicked it open violently.
Chen Weimin and Lin Wenbin jumped. The monk beside them stared in awe—this female officer was fierce!
Lights on, police poured in. Outside, other monks peered in.
At the center of the room, a floor mat had been lifted, revealing a secret compartment with a yellow glow.
The monks were stunned—there was a hidden space under the abbot’s quarters?!
Su Qingwu, hand on her gun, lifted the wooden panel matching the floor color.
A square opening, a circular vertical shaft, an iron ladder embedded in the earthen wall.
After a quick glance, she drew her gun and descended first.
Followed by Xiao Zheng, Xiao Hu, Chen Weimin, Lin Wenbin…
Twenty square meters of basement.
On a mattress, a woman slept soundly, fully dressed.
On an iron rack, a bald man in his fifties, wearing only underwear, several snakes tattooed on his body, was tied with red ropes—like an ancient prisoner undergoing torture.
On the floor, Lu Cheng sat cross-legged, holding a pair of black leather handcuffs with silver spikes, examining them as if unlocking a new world.
Scattered at his feet were an assortment of adult toys.
Lost in curiosity, he only now realized reinforcements had arrived.
Seeing the black leather handcuffs in Lu Cheng’s hands, everyone’s expressions turned strange.
Lin Wenbin stared for a few seconds before exclaiming, “Lu Ge… so you’re into this?”
Lu Cheng: “….”
“Get lost, I was just curious.”
He tossed the items aside and patted his pants, standing up.
“Waited so long for you all to show up…”
Lu Cheng’s gaze landed on Su Qingwu. Her face was icy, eyes briefly flicking to the adult toys scattered on the floor.
His heart skipped a beat. She can’t have misunderstood…
I was just curious! I’m not like that! Hey!!
Su Qingwu averted her gaze, ignoring him, and began instructing officers to search the scene.
