“How’s your aim?” Fan Wanqing asked.

“Not bad.”

Lu Cheng took the gun. It was a Type 64, nicknamed the “Little Cannon.” Designed as a self-defense weapon, it was simple, easy to dismantle, and compact—perfect for carrying around.

Sanliqiao Precinct’s chief, Chen Weimin, had the only other handgun: also a Type 64.

Lu Cheng felt the cold steel in his hands, and for a moment, didn’t want to let go.

When Lu Cheng said “not bad,” Fan Wanqing trusted him—she believed his marksmanship was solid. She handed over the weapon without worry.

“Hide it well. Don’t let it show.”

“This isn’t a dangerous deal. Wang Xiaolong’s just a small-time player—he probably won’t frisk us.”

Lu Cheng nodded and tucked the pistol into his pocket. Small and discreet, anyone glancing his way might mistake it for a wallet or phone.

At his lower back, he also carried a replica Type 92 pistol. Cost him 200 yuan—but after earning a 20,000-yuan bonus, it was worth every penny.

Time was nearly up. Lu Cheng drove a private car, taking Zhu Yaojie to the agreed meeting spot with Wang Xiaolong.

Zhu Yaojie sat in the passenger seat, minding his own business. He was now trying to earn leniency—do well, and he could reduce his prison sentence. Try to run, and a few extra years would be waiting.

Before departure, Fan Wanqing reminded Lu Cheng to keep an eye on Zhu Yaojie. But Lu Cheng didn’t worry—he had the Flycatcher skill. With Zhu by his side, it had already activated.

A tiny fly appeared on his trouser leg, glowing white.

White meant no threat—an honest, apprehended criminal.

The car drove into a small roadside forest and stopped.

Outside, the Economic Investigation Team had already laid a quiet ambush, forming a perimeter from all sides.

Inside the trees sat a red SUV, headlights blazing.

Lu Cheng and Zhu Yaojie got out.

Before stepping down, Lu Cheng whispered a reminder to Zhu: act natural. Just like last time.

Zhu Yaojie nodded. If this went smoothly and Wang Xiaolong was caught, everyone would be happy.

If Wang got away—and knew Zhu had turned to the police—Zhu’s family could face retaliation. An outcome he couldn’t risk.

In the command car, Fan Wanqing nodded slightly. Lu Cheng showed no sign of nervousness—a good start. Everything from here needed to go smoothly.

A man stepped out of the red SUV.

Walking closer, Lu Cheng squinted against the glare. A man in his early thirties, wearing a red-and-white striped polo, white trousers, white leather shoes, and slicked-back hair—styled a little flashy.

Zhu Yaojie didn’t have a photo of Wang Xiaolong, only a description. This had to be him.

At the same time, the Flycatcher skill activated.

Unexpectedly, two flies appeared.

One landed on Wang Xiaolong, glowing blue.

The other… inside the SUV.

Purple light.

Another person?

Lu Cheng remained calm outwardly, but his mind tensed. Whoever was in the car had committed even graver crimes than Wang Xiaolong.

A sign: this was likely the boss—the mysterious “Fujian Guy.”

Buy one, get one. Lu Cheng’s pulse quickened.

But there was no chance to report this yet. He had to observe first—was the Fujian Guy staying hidden in the car, only collecting money? That fit previous intel: cautious, rarely showing his face.

“Ha, Jie-ge, long time no see!”

Wang Xiaolong greeted Zhu Yaojie warmly, acting familiar.

His gaze scanned Zhu, then landed on Lu Cheng, sizing him up.

Lu Cheng stood there, acting the rebellious young punk.

Zhu Yaojie quickly waved his hand. “Long-ge, you’re the real boss. Just call me Xiao Zhu.”

Though Zhu was a few years older than Wang, in terms of status, a petty thief couldn’t compete with someone running a counterfeit gang.

Zhu Yaojie spoke confidently, though a bead of sweat formed on his forehead.

“This is my cousin. You met him at the Emperor Nightclub last time.”

He pulled out a cigarette for Wang Xiaolong.

“Cousin? Call him Long-ge, no manners!”

Lu Cheng nodded casually. “Long-ge.”

Wang Xiaolong took the cigarette; Zhu Yaojie lit it for him.

He inhaled and exhaled smoke onto Lu Cheng’s face.
“Cousin, huh? I remember. Last time, you held your liquor well!”

A backhanded remark—the cousin had spent the last night vomiting in the restroom.

Lu Cheng turned his head, brushing away the smoke, a faint tinge of suppressed irritation on his face.

The young punk’s temper flared!

Wang Xiaolong ignored him, turning to Zhu Yaojie.
“One machine isn’t enough. You need two more? Not enough cash?”

“Long-ge, I have more people now. Can’t keep printing fives. Tens and twenties need to be made too, for change!”

This deal involved machines capable of printing ten and twenty-yuan notes, far higher quality than the previous five-yuan machines.

Five-yuan bills weren’t scrutinized much, so imperfections didn’t matter. Tens and twenties needed to be near perfect—requiring better machines.

The cost had doubled: one machine at 350,000 yuan, two for 700,000.

The cash was in a backpack in the SUV, the strap sewn with a tracker—a precaution from Fan Wanqing.

Wang Xiaolong didn’t ask many questions. These old machines were idle anyway—selling them was better than letting them gather dust.

“Where’s the money?”

“In the car.”

Zhu Yaojie sent Lu Cheng to retrieve it while Wang Xiaolong went for the machines.

Meanwhile, Lu Cheng quietly reported the situation in the SUV to Fan Wanqing.

Everyone in the command car was shocked!

They only planned to catch Wang Xiaolong first, then use him to trap the Fujian Guy.

But the main culprit was already in the car.

“Lu Cheng, are you sure?”

“Positive. Trust me, Fan Team Leader.”

Lu Cheng stayed silent to avoid detection, retrieving the backpack.

One hand exchanged cash, the other delivered the goods.

Wang Xiaolong tried to return to his car, but Zhu Yaojie stopped him.

The plan: don’t let him drive off. Any escape now would make capture far harder.

Yet they also needed to lure the Fujian Guy out of the car.

Fan Wanqing scrambled for a solution in the command car.

“What’s going on?”

“Long-ge, I don’t know how to operate this machine. Can you show me?”

“Same as last time. I have business, leaving first!”

“Long-ge, you won’t even count the money?”

“You dare cheat me?”

Without another word, Wang Xiaolong turned to his car.

Zhu Yaojie glanced at Lu Cheng. If Wang Xiaolong insisted on leaving, they’d have to act immediately.

But Lu Cheng’s expression had shifted—he knew the Fujian Guy was in the car.

Wang Xiaolong needed to be caught, but if they acted recklessly, the Fujian Guy would drive away.

The area was remote. Reinforcements would arrive slowly, and car pursuit would be difficult…

Moreover, Fujian Guy could be heavily armed.

People running counterfeit machines and producing fake bills were highly dangerous.

And now, Lu Cheng was reaching the limit of his patience.
