Chapter 522: The Wrath of the Three Great Sects and Jiang Yueyu’s Surprise

“Father, who is he?” Zhang Tianhao hurried forward to support Zhang Yu, hesitating for a moment before finally asking.

Zhang Yu’s expression was complicated, but he still answered, “He is your uncle—your mother’s eldest brother.”

“Years ago, he personally came down to the Great Wilderness Realm to bring your mother back to the Upper Realm.”

Perhaps in the past, Zhang Yu might have doubted whether the Upper Realm truly existed. But now, having reached Tribulation Peak and even slain three Saints at their peak, Zhang Yu no longer had any doubts about the Upper Realm’s reality.

Hearing this, Zhang Tianhao’s expression grew incredibly complex. He didn’t know how he should treat his uncle, nor how to face his mother.

Seeming to sense Zhang Tianhao’s thoughts, Zhang Yu’s face turned somewhat bitter as he spoke.

“Haor, don’t blame your uncle. After all, it was him who pleaded on our behalf back then, which is why we survived. Your grandfather’s orders at the time were to send us all away for good.”

“I understand, Father.”

Zhang Tianhao still nodded in agreement.

Soon after, Zhang Yu turned to look at Qin Shaolong and respectfully clasped his fists.

“Thank you, Senior.”

“No problem, it’s just a small matter. You should focus on recovering from your injuries. I can only guarantee your survival; I won’t take the initiative to intervene.”

With that, Qin Shaolong disappeared from in front of Zhang Yu and the others.

After Qin Shaolong left, Cai Wankun and Lin Qianyan spoke up solemnly.

“Senior Brother, we should also return to train. Given the current situation, it’s essentially an all-out war with the Three Great Sects now. Surely, a battle will be unavoidable once we ascend to the Upper Realm.”

“Hmm, understood.”

Zhang Tianhao nodded with a serious expression. Then he turned to look at his father, Zhang Yu. After hesitating for a moment, he finally said,

“Father, I’ll go back to train first.”

“Hmm, go back and train hard. There’s nothing wrong on my end.” Zhang Yu waved his hand, signaling Zhang Tianhao and the others to leave. Once they were gone, Zhang Yu’s expression grew extremely solemn.

After learning of the Three Great Sects’ immense power, Zhang Yu clearly understood that once he ascended to the Upper Realm, unless he could expand the Tianling Dynasty’s scale a hundredfold, there was no way they could contend with the Three Great Sects.

“The burden is heavy and the road long; I still need to work hard.”

“Damn it! How is this possible? How could a mere Land Without Spirit eliminate peak Elders at the Saint level from our Three Great Sects?”

Inside the Qianyuan Sect, Sect Master Qin Fengyu was shocked and furious as he spoke.

Standing before him, Luan Ning, the Sect Master of the Wanling Sect, also looked grim. He hadn’t expected that after losing all its Spirit Veins and becoming a Land Without Spirit, the Great Wilderness Realm could still produce beings capable of killing peak Saints — and not just one, but three of them.

“Huff, we still don’t fully understand what happened. Let’s investigate carefully first. But for now, we shouldn’t dispatch any strong fighters to the Great Wilderness Realm to avoid unnecessary losses.”

“Moreover, we hold the Ascension Plane coordinates guarding the Great Wilderness Realm. If the enemy ascends, the only path awaiting them will be death.”

Chen Ziyang spoke up, furious but still rational.

Although they were eager to send even more powerful experts to descend upon the Great Wilderness Realm for cleanup, they also understood that dispatching Elders at the Peak Saint level was already pushing their limits.

Or, to put it another way, even with the aid of the Breath-Concealing Spiritual Treasure within the Great Wilderness Realm, the maximum strength they could muster would only reach the Peak Saint level. Beyond that, no matter how hard they tried, they simply couldn’t achieve more.

Luan Ning and Qin Fengyu, while wanting to do more, knew clearly that for now, the best course of action was to follow Chen Ziyang’s plan.

Soon, Chen Ziyang and the others settled on a strategy: each Sect would assign one Elder at the Peak Saint King level to guard the Ascension Plane coordinates in the Great Wilderness Realm. If anyone tried to ascend from the Great Wilderness Realm, they were to be killed without mercy!

Even though their enemy had slain three Peak Saints, Peak Saints were like insignificant ants compared to a Peak Saint King—easily crushed with a single strike.

Meanwhile, inside the Xuanyu Sect, Jiang Yueyu knew that these days would be when the Three Great Sects were carrying out their purge of the Great Wilderness Realm. Her heart was naturally filled with anxiety.

But she had no way to leave the Dao Peak. Years ago, when she became Dao Companions with Yu Ge, her father had erupted in fury, punishing her to meditate in isolation facing the wall in the Dao Peak for a hundred years. During this time, she was forbidden to go anywhere.

So, despite her anxiety, Jiang Yueyu could only wait within the Dao Peak, hoping her eldest brother would bring her good news.

Finally, after Jiang Yueyu paced back and forth in the dojo over three hundred times, Jiang Tianwen hurried back from outside the Xuanyu Sect.

Seeing her eldest brother, Jiang Yueyu quickly approached him, her voice trembling with worry and nervousness.

“Big brother, how are Yu Ge and the others? Are they alright?”

“Don’t worry. They’re fine, and they’re actually doing quite well now.”

Jiang Tianwen’s tone carried a hint of teasing sarcasm. He had risked his life to rescue Zhang Yu and the others, yet the first thing his younger sister asked about upon his return was their condition. This stirred a slight feeling of dissatisfaction within him.

Hearing that Zhang Yu and the others were safe, Jiang Yueyu finally exhaled in relief. But then she remembered something and looked at Jiang Tianwen with concern.

“Big brother, are you alright?”

“Don’t worry, I’m fine.”

Only after hearing this did Jiang Yueyu begin to inquire about Zhang Yu and the others.

“So, big brother, where are Yu Ge and the others now?”

Having been separated from Zhang Yu and the others for more than twenty years, Jiang Yueyu was now desperate to see them.

But Jiang Tianwen shook his head and said,

“They didn’t come up with me. They’re still in the Great Wilderness Realm.”

“What!”

Upon hearing that Zhang Yu and her son were still in the Great Wilderness Realm, Jiang Yueyu felt her heart skip a beat and nearly fainted. However, Jiang Tianwen continued,

“That’s right. Over these years, they must have encountered some kind of opportunity and have already started cultivating. In fact, Zhang Yu has even managed to slay two Peak Saints.”

“What!”

Hearing that her husband personally killed two Peak Saints, Jiang Yueyu’s emotions were mixed with joy and worry.

Joy, because Zhang Yu had demonstrated such terrifying talent—having reached the ability to slay Peak Saints in just over twenty years.

Worry, because in killing those Peak Saints from the Three Great Sects, it meant they had now truly come into conflict with those powerful sects.

Jiang Yueyu was very well aware of how strong the Three Great Sects were, and her heart grew anxious. Could Brother Yu really stand against them?

Jiang Tianwen looked at Jiang Yueyu earnestly and said, “Brother Yu’s strength has truly advanced beyond imagination. Although the Three Great Sects are formidable, it’s not impossible for him to prevail.”

Jiang Yueyu clenched her fists tightly, her eyes shining with determination. “If he has already killed two Peak Saints, then he must have great confidence. I believe he will protect himself.”

Jiang Tianwen nodded solemnly. “Yes. But we cannot underestimate the enemy. The Three Great Sects will definitely retaliate. The coming years will be dangerous for Brother Yu.”

Jiang Yueyu took a deep breath and steadied her racing heart. “Then I will wait for him here, no matter how long it takes. He promised he would return for his family in twenty years. I believe in him.”

Jiang Tianwen smiled faintly, but his eyes held a hint of melancholy. “Brother Yu’s path is full of hardship, but his spirit burns like a true dragon’s roar. We can only hope for the best.”
