Chapter 501: Killing Wang Di, the Forbidden Power’s Self-Destruction

“Impossible, this is absolutely impossible!”

Wang Di roared in disbelief as he looked at the scene before him.

He had barely managed to break through to the Late Earth God stage, and now, a nobody was openly breaking through right in front of him—from True God Peak all the way to Heavenly God Peak. How could Wang Di possibly accept this?

So the next moment, Wang Di let out an enraged roar and charged at Wu Yidao.

Wu Yidao’s expression was equally grave. It wasn’t that he couldn’t defeat Wang Di, but rather that he couldn’t rely on this power for long. Otherwise, it might seriously harm his foundation.

“Master, finish him off quickly,” Chaos’s voice echoed in Wu Yidao’s mind. Wu Yidao nodded. In the next moment, a surge of golden power burst forth from his fist.

As this power emerged, the entire Haotian Divine Realm seemed to tremble along with it. A few remaining True God elites all turned their gazes toward the source of the golden light.

“What exactly is that power?”

Countless True God elites held onto hope, some with anticipation.

After all, all the True God elites still alive within the Haotian Divine Realm knew about Wang Di breaking through to the Earth God Realm there and wreaking havoc everywhere.

So now, they could only pray that someone would step up and suppress Wang Di once and for all.

At the same time, after feeling the force behind Wu Yidao’s punch, Wang Di’s previous rage instantly turned cold.

“No, this is absolutely impossible, absolutely!”

Gritting his teeth, Wang Di forced himself to continue charging at Wu Yidao.

Wu Yidao did not hold back either. A shadowy figure appeared behind him, and as Wu Yidao swung his fist, the shadow mirrored the punch.

“Heavenly Emperor Fist!”

Wu Yidao’s expression was solemn, his gaze toward Wang Di filled with icy detachment.

The next second, the Heavenly Emperor Fist struck directly at Wang Di, engulfing his body in the fist’s shadowy afterimage.

Once the afterimage of the Heavenly Emperor Fist dispersed, Wang Di’s figure reappeared before Wu Yidao.

However, this Wang Di was a stark contrast to the proud, vigorous man from before. Now, he lay on the ground, his body mutilated—his lower half was gone.

Moreover, Wang Di’s aura was extremely weak, looking as if he was on the verge of collapsing and passing away.

Seeing this, Wu Yidao showed no mercy. With a calm tone, he said,

“You should be on your way now.”

“No, you can’t kill me. The Tianhai Sect stands behind me. If you kill me, you make an enemy of the Tianhai Sect. Their Ancestor has already broken through to God Venerable. If you kill me, you’ll be confronting a God Venerable-level expert.”

Hearing that Wu Yidao intended to kill him, Wang Di finally grew terrified and shouted angrily at Wu Yidao.

But Wu Yidao’s expression didn’t change at all. After all, God Venerable experts weren’t unfamiliar to him. Besides, Wang Di had already tried to kill him earlier; he didn’t think they could ever be allies.

Furthermore, with his Great Grandfather backing him, Wu Yidao didn’t believe that the mere Tianhai Sect could pose any real threat to him.

At that moment, Shen Youwei, who had been sleeping behind Wu Yidao, slowly opened her eyes, her expression growing very serious.

“I didn’t expect the Ancestor of the Tianhai Sect to have broken through to God Venerable. Is that what you’re relying on, Wang Di?”

Hearing Shen Youwei speak, and before Wu Yidao could turn around, she moved beside him, her gaze toward Wang Di icy cold.

“Shen Youwei, since you’ve already awakened, you should know how terrifying a God Venerable is. Spare me now, and I might still be able to plead with the Ancestor to let you survive,” Wang Di said urgently, looking at Shen Youwei.

But Shen Youwei hesitated for a moment, then turned her eyes to Wu Yidao, speaking in an extremely grave tone.

“Yidao, he’s right. God Venerables are indeed terrifying. Although the Ancestors of the Five Great Sects are all at the peak of Divine Emperor, combined they still don’t match the strength of a single God Venerable.”

“The best choice now is to seek peace with the Tianhai Sect. Of course, the final decision is yours—I won’t interfere.”

Upon hearing this, Wu Yidao did not hesitate. He looked at Wang Di and sneered coldly.

“A mere Early Divine Lord—what kind of storm could he possibly stir up? If he dares to lay a hand on me, I’ll show him what the end of days truly means.”“Don’t worry, Youwei. My great grandfather possesses the strength to deal with God Venerable-level opponents. If the Tianhai Sect doesn’t use their size to bully the smaller factions, that’s one thing. But if they do, don’t blame me for going to ask my great grandfather to step in.”

Wu Yidao didn’t want to rely too much on his great grandfather, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t. If the situation became desperate, he would swallow his pride and ask for his great grandfather’s help.

If Shen Youwei had heard this earlier, she might not have believed it. But now, from the bottom of her heart, she trusted Wu Yidao.

After all, everything Wu Yidao had shown her proved that his origins were extraordinary, far above the Six Great Sects.

Meanwhile, Wang Di’s face was full of fear. He quickly begged for mercy.

“N-No, don’t kill me! The Ancestor of the Tianhai Sect is my ancestor and holds me in high regard. Killing me won’t benefit you at all.”

“That won’t be necessary. I’m more curious about your memories. Let me take a look at what you’re hiding in there,” Wu Yidao said.

With that, he immediately summoned the Chaos Bell. Although Wang Di was severely injured, he was still a Late Earth God.

After defeating Wang Di, Wu Yidao’s own cultivation had restored to True God Peak, so using the Chaos Bell to have Chaos probe Wang Di’s memories was the best choice.

What Wu Yidao didn’t expect was that the moment he summoned the Chaos Bell, Wang Di—who had been lying helpless on the ground—suddenly showed a terrified expression. Before Wu Yidao could react, Wang Di’s face twisted into a ferocious snarl and was then engulfed by a surge of crimson energy and killed. The speed was so fast that even Chaos didn’t have time to intervene.

Watching this, Wu Yidao’s expression darkened as he secretly communicated with Chaos.

“Chaos, what’s going on?”

“It seems that the power within him has some form of self-awareness. After sensing that we were trying to probe Wang Di’s memories and detecting the danger, it self-destructed,” Chaos replied, his tone equally grim. Clearly, even he hadn’t expected this to happen.

Shen Youwei was also shocked by the force that killed Wang Di because she knew it wasn’t Wu Yidao’s doing.

“Yidao, what’s going on?”

She looked at Wu Yidao with a very serious expression and asked.

Wu Yidao took a deep breath, thought it over, and decided to tell Shen Youwei everything he had learned from the Haotian Divine Venerable. After all, Shen Youwei was his close friend, and Wu Yidao believed she had the right to know about this matter.Wu Yidao looked at Shen Youwei seriously and said, “The power within Wang Di is actually a kind of living energy. It has consciousness and can sense threats. When it detected that we were probing his memories, it chose to eliminate itself to prevent us from getting any information.”

Shen Youwei’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Living energy? That means it’s not just some force—it’s alive?”

Wu Yidao nodded. “Exactly. The Haotian Divine Venerable warned me this energy is extremely dangerous and unpredictable. It protects Wang Di’s secrets at all costs.”

“But then, what does that mean for us? If it self-destructs whenever someone tries to investigate, how can we uncover the truth behind Wang Di’s death?” Shen Youwei asked, concern clear in her voice.

Wu Yidao’s expression grew even more solemn. “We’ll have to find another approach—something the energy can’t detect or counteract. This won’t be easy, but we have no choice if we want answers.”
