Chapter 410 Rapid Progress (Part 2)

Among the futures Wu Hao surveyed, he found that there were still five disciples within the Xuanlei Domain—three of whom had not yet been born, and the other two were not yet a year away from reaching adulthood.

“Fine, I’ll wait a year before finding those two disciples. As for the other three, when the time is right, I’ll have Tianhao recruit them for me,” Wu Hao said, shaking his head and deciding not to dwell on it further. He then turned to look at Zhang Tianhao’s Spirit Pool Chamber, where Zhang looked like he’d been injected with adrenaline, cultivating furiously. The speed of his breakthroughs was accelerating, almost reaching one advancement per day.

Seven days later, he reached the peak of the Ninefold Qi Refinement.

During these seven days, Zhang Tianhao demonstrated unimaginable perseverance and endured immense pain. Even Wu Hao was quite satisfied—this kind of talent truly deserved to be his disciple.

After reaching the peak of the Ninefold Qi Refinement, Zhang Tianhao’s entire aura transformed—deep and reserved, like a precious sword hidden within its sheath. He might remain still and silent, but when he acted, it would be overwhelmingly powerful.

“Master!”

Seeing Wu Hao appear, Zhang Tianhao quickly cupped his fists in salute.

Wu Hao waved his hand and spoke with a serious expression.

“Now that you’ve reached the peak of the Ninefold Qi Refinement, you should start trying to break through to the Foundation Establishment stage. But before that, I suggest you first go to the Combat Tower to gain some battle experience,” Wu Hao said.

“The Combat Tower?” Zhang Tianhao asked with a confused look. It wasn’t surprising—after all, Wu Hao had given him the goal to break through to the Golden Core stage within a month. So normally, Zhang Tianhao spent all his time in the Spirit Pool Chamber and naturally didn’t know much about other places within the Heavenly Emperor Sect.

Seeing Zhang Tianhao’s puzzled expression, Wu Hao thought for a moment and suddenly led him to stand in front of a giant tower.

The towering structure stretched deep into the clouds. Standing before it, Zhang Tianhao felt as insignificant as a speck of dust. Then something occurred to him, and he asked with some doubt, “Master, is this the Combat Tower? But why is it so tall, and how come it can’t be seen from outside the sect at all?”

Now at the peak of the Ninefold Qi Refinement, Zhang Tianhao’s strength was comparable to an average Peak Foundation Establishment cultivator, yet he still couldn’t sense how tall the Combat Tower really was. Under normal circumstances, he should have been able to see it from outside the sect.

Wu Hao waved his hand to explain, “Yes, this is the Combat Tower. It has ninety-nine floors, each a separate world with its own strongest warrior. You can only advance to the next level by defeating that strongest opponent. On every floor, there are treasures I’ve left behind—you can look for them.”

“As for why it can’t be seen from outside the sect, that’s because I used a special technique to make it invisible to outsiders. Only those inside the sect can see the Combat Tower, so as not to attract unwanted attention.”After hearing his master’s explanation, Zhang Tianhao suddenly understood—it made sense now. It all came down to fate. Yet something else occurred to him, and he felt deeply amazed by his master’s power. To think that within the Combat Tower right in front of him, there were ninety-nine worlds created, each one stronger than the last. After all, his master had said that to enter the next world, he must defeat that world’s strongest opponent.

Zhang Tianhao couldn’t even imagine the level of the strongest cultivator on the final ninety-ninth floor, but one thing was certain: it was far beyond anything he could hope to challenge right now.

“Also, inside the Combat Tower, time flows differently than outside. One hour in the outside world equals one full day inside,” Wu Hao continued. After all, the ninety-nine worlds inside the Combat Tower were all real worlds he had created, with living beings and everything else actually existing. To save energy, he had therefore set the time ratio so that one outside hour corresponded to a whole day inside.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Tianhao nodded firmly. Then he set off toward the Combat Tower. Upon reaching the large door, he stretched out his hand and slowly pushed it open.

The moment the door swung open, Zhang Tianhao was immediately drawn inside.

Seeing Zhang Tianhao enter, Wu Hao felt a sudden sense of anticipation. He didn’t know how many floors Zhang Tianhao would be able to reach on his first attempt.

“Judging by Zhang Tianhao’s current strength, he’ll probably reach the sixth floor, but beyond that, it likely won’t be possible.”

Wu Hao thought to himself that the strongest opponent on each floor would be stronger than the one on the floor below. The strongest fighter on the sixth floor was a sword cultivator in the Initial Stage of the Golden Core, someone Zhang Tianhao’s current strength likely couldn’t defeat.

Each floor’s strongest opponent was actually a puppet placed by Wu Hao somewhere on that level. The puppet would only activate once approached, and defeating it could potentially earn a portion of the Origin Power that Wu Hao had left behind.

Of course, this was not Wu Hao’s own Origin Power, but the Origin Power left by a Peak Divine Venerable warrior that Wu Hao had placed there.

On the ninety-ninth floor, the strongest opponent was a Late Stage God Venerable. If one day Zhang Tianhao were to reach the ninety-ninth floor and clear it, he could obtain the full Divine Origin. However, by that time, it was likely Zhang Tianhao wouldn’t even need the Divine Origin anymore, since only a God Venerable could kill another God Venerable, and only a God Emperor could kill another God Emperor—that was the way of things.

“I wonder how Qiaoran is doing now. The method I left behind on her hasn’t been triggered, so hopefully she’s safe,” Wu Hao said as he looked up toward the direction of the Divine Rank. He had no idea how Su Qiaoran was faring inside.

Meanwhile, within the Divine Rank, Su Qiaoran was surrounded by three Peak Divine Rank opponents. The looks in their eyes were full of mockery as they stared at her.

“Fairy, just submit to us. The three of us are all at the Peak Divine Rank, and you’re no match for us. If you come with us, maybe we’ll let you live,” the leader of the three sneered as they closed in around Su Qiaoran.

Upon hearing this, the other two Peak Divine Rank beings couldn’t help but laugh aloud. They never expected to encounter such a stunning Goddess within the Divine Rank. More importantly, they hadn’t seen any sign of Su Qiaoran outside. After all, a Divine Spirit as beautiful as Su Qiaoran couldn’t possibly be unknown. So there were only two possibilities: either Su Qiaoran had entered before all of them—but that was highly unlikely, since they had arrived as soon as the Divine Rank opened—or the only remaining option was that Su Qiaoran was a native born within the Divine Rank. In other words, even if she was stronger than them, they wouldn’t be harmed.

Hearing the words of the three Peak Divine Rank beings before her, Su Qiaoran’s expression remained calm on the outside, but inside, she was ice-cold with fury. These three already had a death wish to dare say such things to her.

Although Su Qiaoran was only at the Initial Stage of the Divine Rank, she had too many tricks up her sleeve. After all, as Wu Hao’s Dao Companion, her safety was something he took very seriously, so she had basically been given everything he could provide.

It’s no exaggeration to say that not only could she defeat these three Peak Divine Rank beings, but even three Peak God Kings might struggle against her—of course, that was if Su Qiaoran used her trump cards.

Otherwise, based on Su Qiaoran’s own strength, her opponents would likely only be on the Intermediate Stage of the Divine Rank.

The three Peak Divine Rank beings in front of her had no idea what kind of terrifying monster they had provoked, still fantasizing about how they would enjoy Su Qiaoran’s body afterward.
