Chapter 262: The Unknown Demon Beast

Hearing this, the elders all looked toward the Clan Leader, each hoping she would accept their own opinion.

Seated in the Clan Leader’s position, Zi You, the leader of the Violet Thunderfinch Clan, pondered for a moment before waving her hand and saying, “Let’s conduct a thorough investigation first. With the strength of our Violet Thunderfinch Clan, if we recklessly confront this issue, it may provoke dissatisfaction among the other demon tribes.”

“Yes, Clan Leader.”

Although many elders who advocated for a direct and proactive strike felt dissatisfied inwardly, they ultimately agreed.

Soon, all the elders present left the Clan Hall, leaving only Zi Lei and Zi You inside.

“Clan Leader.”

“Yes. There are some clues here. Those demon beasts that attacked our Violet Thunderfinch Clan show no signs of any causal connection—it’s likely that a Great Expert erased those traces. This does not rule out the possibility that a hostile force is making a move against us. We must investigate this thoroughly.”

Zi You’s expression was extremely serious as she rubbed her tired brow.

Hearing this, Zi Lei nodded but then suddenly recalled something and quickly spoke up.

“Clan Leader, the matter in the west was caused by a human cultivator from beneath Buzhou Mountain who accidentally trespassed into our territory. We’ve already taken care of it.”

The mention of a human cultivator from outside Buzhou Mountain briefly puzzled Zi You’s expression.

“A human cultivator from beyond Buzhou Mountain? Our Buzhou Mountain has always had very limited contact with the Upper Realm. Why would someone suddenly venture into Buzhou Mountain?”

“According to him, he came here because he promised someone that he would. He should leave after some time,” Zi Lei explained quickly.

Upon hearing this, Zi You nodded.

“As far as we know, only our Violet Thunderfinch Clan harbors no ill will toward humans. Had this been another demon tribe, the intruder would likely be dead already.”

“All right, you may leave now. Focus on breaking through to the Immortal Venerable stage as soon as possible.”

“Yes, Clan Leader!”

Upon hearing this, Zi Lei immediately left, while Zi You slowly rose to her feet. Her deep gaze pierced through endless space toward the spot where Wu Yidao was in seclusion. Then she murmured to herself,

“Interesting. There is an aura within him that I cannot see through. Hopefully, it holds no ill intent toward the Violet Thunderfinch Clan.

“Also, this strange beast carries an aura I can’t decipher either. Coupled with the recent unrest around Buzhou Mountain, I hope this isn’t something bad.”

At that thought, Zi You closed her eyes and let out a sigh.

Elsewhere, as Zi You’s spiritual perception withdrew from Wu Yidao, Hundun also leapt out of him, sounding somewhat begrudging.

“Listen, everyone’s been bullying you like this, and you still don’t fight back? How can you stand for it?”

Hearing this, Wu Yidao slowly opened his eyes, his gaze calm and plain as he said,

“It’s no problem. Besides, this isn’t bullying; after all, I was the one who trespassed first into another clan’s territory.”

Wu Yidao had naturally sensed Zi You’s earlier investigation but chose not to reveal that.

If the roles were reversed, he would have made the same decision when faced with someone unfamiliar.

Hearing Wu Yidao’s words, Hundun sighed with a hint of frustration and said,

“Eh, I’m done trying to reason with you. Do whatever you want then.”

With that, Hundun prepared to slip back into Wu Yidao’s body.

But Wu Yidao suddenly remembered something and quickly asked,

“By the way, since you arrived here, have you sensed anything unusual?”

“Unusual? Of course, a bit. The space here feels unstable, like it could collapse at any moment. But seeing how nonchalant you are, I guess you’ll investigate it yourself.”

Clearly, Hundun was unhappy with Wu Yidao’s refusal to just wipe out the entire Violet Thunderfinch Clan as he had suggested earlier. After speaking, Hundun returned to inhabit Wu Yidao’s body.

Upon hearing this, Wu Yidao’s expression grew extremely serious.

“Space instability, huh?”

It was well known that spatial dimensions in the Upper Realm were incredibly stable. Not to mention an Immortal King, even an Immortal Sovereign would find it difficult to tear them open.

But now, the space around Buzhou Mountain was unstable and even on the verge of collapse, which stirred a sense of unease in Wu Yidao.

“It looks like I need to get stronger quickly. I wonder what exactly is causing this spatial instability.”

Wu Yidao shook his head and then resumed his cultivation once again.

Meanwhile, inside Wu Yidao’s body, Hundun was also staring deep into the heart of Buzhou Mountain, his expression heavy with concern.

“I never expected the Ancient Star Road on Buzhou Mountain to be on the brink of collapse. I don’t know if Master will be able to reach the strength needed to halt its destruction before that happens. If not, I might have to step in to stabilize it myself.”

In Hundun’s eyes, deep within Buzhou Mountain, the Ancient Star Road—which had once been relatively stable—was now heading rapidly toward collapse. Moreover, star beasts sporadically emerged from the Ancient Star Road into Buzhou Mountain.

Such a level of crisis was extremely difficult even for Immortal Emperor-level beings to handle, so Hundun was already prepared to intervene.

Elsewhere, Wu Hao appeared before the collapsing Ancient Star Road, his expression somewhat grave.

“Collapse? But a Spatial Stabilization Grand Array can restore it to stability. The problem is, Yidao doesn’t seem to have learned this level of array formation yet. We need to find a way to teach him the Spatial Stabilization Grand Array.”

Wu Hao thought privately to himself: Although his own strength would easily handle this, still, the experiences of the Child of Destiny must not be erased. Unless it meant extermination, who knew what butterfly effects might occur otherwise.

Given Wu Hao’s expertise in array formations, a single glance at the damaged Ancient Star Road allowed him to sketch out a Spatial Stabilization Grand Array tailored to the current situation in his mind.

Quickly, Wu Hao completed the array diagram and then planned how to let Wu Yidao come across it by chance.

Five years passed in the blink of an eye. During that time, Wu Yidao had been fully committed to breaking through to the Intermediate Stage Immortal King.

Then, one sunset after those five years, an overwhelmingly terrifying pressure suddenly erupted from Wu Yidao’s courtyard, shocking the entire Violet Thunderfinch Clan.

Soon after, a large number of powerful members of the Violet Thunderfinch Clan rushed to the courtyard where Wu Yidao was located.
