Chapter 261: The Demon Clan Forces on Buzhou Mountain

“Interesting. Does the Blood Demon Seed completely consume the Divine Soul of its host, or is there still a chance for revival?” Wu Hao watched Tian Yuan as he departed, taking the Demon Refining Immortal Emperor with him, pondering deeply.

After a long moment, Wu Hao lightly shook his head. He sensed that a remnant of self-awareness still lingered within the Demon Refining Immortal Emperor’s body. In other words, if he could manipulate it, the Demon Refining Immortal Emperor might still have the potential to be revived.

With this thought, Wu Hao turned and left. Now wasn’t the right time. Perhaps when the battle began, he could turn the Demon Refining Immortal Emperor into a pawn.

Ellipsis

Boom!

On Buzhou Mountain, before Wu Yidao stood thousands of Demon Beasts, each radiating an aura no weaker than that of a Great Luo Golden Immortal.

Wu Yidao, holding his Chaos Spear, looked solemnly at the demon clan before him and said, “Everyone, I am merely passing through and bear no ill will toward you. I ask that you cease hostilities.”

Naturally, Wu Yidao recognized the demon beasts in front of him: the famous Violet Thunderfinch Clan. Each member possessed profound mastery over lightning. Wu Yidao had simply passed through this area by chance, only to find himself confronted by the Violet Thunderfinch Clan.

To demonstrate his sincerity, Wu Yidao even voluntarily sheathed his Chaos Spear.

Yet the Violet Thunderfinch Clan remained unmoved, glaring at Wu Yidao fiercely. However, they showed no intention of attacking; their earlier offensive was merely to block his path.

This display made Wu Yidao feel as if they were waiting for something, though he wasn’t sure what.

Before Wu Yidao could react further, in the next moment a figure appeared before the Violet Thunderfinch Clan, causing Wu Yidao’s pupils to sharply contract.

From this person emanated an overwhelmingly terrifying aura. Considering Wu Yidao had only recently broken through to Immortal King after arriving on Buzhou Mountain, sensing such a fearsome presence now meant this individual was at minimum an Immortal Sovereign.

After appearing, the figure soon transformed into human form and addressed the Violet Thunderfinch Clan behind him:

“Stand down. This person means no harm to our clan.”

As soon as the Violet Thunderfinch who had appeared suddenly spoke, the rest of the Violet Thunderfinch Clan behind her gradually dispersed. Soon, only she and Wu Yidao remained on the scene.

Only then did Wu Yidao finally exhale in relief. If it had been up to him alone, defeating the entire Violet Thunderfinch Clan would have been quite difficult—of course, assuming no intervention from Chaos.

So, feeling grateful toward the Violet Thunderfinch before him, Wu Yidao raised his hand in thanks.

“Thank you, Senior, for stepping in to help.”

Only now did Wu Yidao start to carefully examine the Violet Thunderfinch’s human form. She was a mature woman with purple hair.

“Fellow Daoist, there’s no need to be so formal. I am an elder of the Violet Thunderfinch Clan. You can call me Zi Lei,” she said, waving at Wu Yidao.

Then, as if reminded of something, her expression grew serious.

“You must have come up from beneath Buzhou Mountain, right? Things haven’t been very peaceful above Buzhou Mountain lately.”

Hearing this, Wu Yidao’s expression also became somewhat grave. Yet along his journey, he hadn’t encountered anything particularly disturbing.

“Senior, what do you mean by ‘things haven’t been peaceful’?”

“You don’t need to ask further. If you came to Buzhou Mountain seeking opportunities, then you’d better descend soon,” Zi Lei said without elaborating, clearly wary of revealing too much.

Seeing this, Wu Yidao didn’t press her further. Instead, he clasped his hands respectfully and said with utmost sincerity:

“Sorry, Senior. I didn’t come up the mountain to seek opportunities. I just promised someone I would find an answer here.”

Along the way, Wu Yidao had met many on Buzhou Mountain, including both opportunities and dangers. He gained a sense of how vast Buzhou Mountain was. No wonder few people chose to come here unless absolutely necessary.

For instance, the Violet Thunderfinch Clan — those who had surrounded Wu Yidao earlier were only the common clansfolk, yet even they generally possessed cultivation at the Great Luo Golden Immortal level. The elder before him was evidently at least at the Immortal Sovereign level.

This showed just how powerful the Violet Thunderfinch Clan was. Their Clan Leader was likely at least at the Immortal Venerable rank.

Wu Yidao had already encountered no fewer than a hundred demon clans of this caliber on his journey.

After hearing this, Zi Lei furrowed her brows deeply. After a long moment, she sighed and said slowly:

“In that case, you should temporarily stay with the Violet Thunderfinch Clan for some time. You can leave once a while has passed.”

Naturally, Wu Yidao did not refuse; he needed to find a safer place to reflect on his recent experiences.

Soon, under Zi Lei’s arrangement, Wu Yidao moved into the territory of the Violet Thunderfinch Clan. As for whether he worried about the Violet Thunderfinch Clan attacking him, Wu Yidao hadn’t considered that possibility at all. After all, with the Chaos Bell protecting him, no one from the Violet Thunderfinch Clan would dare make a move against him unless they were courting death.

“These two are members of my Violet Thunderfinch Clan. If you have any questions, you can ask them,” Zi Lei said, assigning two clan members to guard Wu Yidao before turning to leave. Watching her retreating figure, Wu Yidao’s expression grew somewhat serious.

For some reason, ever since he entered the territory of the Violet Thunderfinch Clan, Wu Yidao felt a faint but persistent sense of threat—not from the clan itself, but emanating from the very space between Heaven and Earth.

However, Wu Yidao didn’t dwell on these feelings. Turning to the two Violet Thunderfinches, he spoke calmly, “Fellow Daoists, I need to enter seclusion for a while. Please carry on as you wish.”

With that, Wu Yidao went inside to begin his seclusion, preparing to break through to the Intermediate Immortal King stage. The two Violet Thunderfinches exchanged a glance and then returned to their own cultivation.

Meanwhile, after leaving Wu Yidao, Zi Lei returned to the Clan Hall, where all the Violet Thunderfinch’s Immortal Sovereigns and above had gathered.

As Zi Lei arrived, the Clan Leader lifted his eyes to meet hers, his voice both noble and chilling: “Has the matter in the west been resolved?”

“It has, Clan Leader,” Zi Lei replied respectfully. Hearing this, the Clan Leader nodded slightly before continuing, “Very well, then let us continue the meeting we began earlier. Everyone, what are your thoughts on the recent unrest in Buzhou Mountain?”

At once, the Violet Thunderfinch Clan’s Great Elder spoke up. “Clan Leader, in my view, this trouble was likely caused by one of the clans on Buzhou Mountain. We only need to send representatives to make inquiries clan by clan.”

However, before he had finished, other elders voiced their disagreement. “That approach is inappropriate. Even setting aside how many demon tribes exist on Buzhou Mountain, our Violet Thunderfinch Clan’s strength doesn’t allow us to operate so freely there. Moreover, the demon beasts we hunted earlier bear little resemblance to any of the clans among the myriad races.”

Then the Second Elder stepped forward and slowly spoke, addressing the Clan Leader carefully, “Therefore, I respectfully ask you, Clan Leader, to think twice before taking action.”
